Cornelius and his companions had been unbelievers. Peter was sent to preach to them. As he was preaching, Cornelius and his companions spoke in tongues. Scripture tells us that this is evidence that they were filled with the Holy Spirit and accepted by God in Christ as believers.
At that point in time, there were no unbelievers present. Therefore, your position that speaking in tongues is always a sign to unbelievers is irrelevant, because there were no unbelievers present to receive the sign.

Many years ago i had a repair shop in s texas. I had a doberman and a shepherd mix as guard dogs. My neighbor had a husky. We had a bad cold snap that lasted many days. Got down to 13 deg f. For a few days. It killed the huskyyeah

I was half awake this morning while browsing around CC........
I wasn't sure where I was on CC b/c I thought I clicked the thing on my alerts that said new activity in "discernment/visions and dreams"
so I just thought I'd check..........
yes, I had a dream last night........
after a long eventful day with the family in the heat (and with less than 3 hrs sleep the night before) I had a dream that recapped the day.........
NOTHING SYMBOLIC....... NOTHING SPIRITUAL.......
just a regular middle of the night, bodies going through what it goes through in sleep stages dream.
I haven't had A DREAM in the sense of divine encounters in a while....
"talk to me in my dreams tonight", isn't something that works for me. well I know of some people where that is a daily common encounter for them and that's awesome................
BUT FOR ME:
it happens when it happens because when it does happen IT STANDS OUT and I KNOW it was a heavenly message when it happens.

We know He has a plan for weach of us and what He will do for one, he will do for another, and He wants us ALL to walk in His full gifting, we may each have a specific area He wants us to be strong in, but it seems He wants us able to function in every area, He may be bringing you along to reveal more to you in this way.
I ask for dreams and He gives freely, and have asked He bring them to my remembrance so I can ask for and receive His meaning.

Cornelius a family of Christians. . worshipers of the true God who reveals himself through the scriptures. Three used to denote the end of the matter. men were sent as a apostles to Peter to receive the spiritual understanding of the parable. Peter encountered unbelievers when meeting Cornelius a believer and spoke the tongue of God the gospel.
While Peter was still speaking these words, (the tongue of God prophecy ) the Holy Spirit came down on all those who were listening to his speech. (not unknown noises) The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the Holy Spirit had been poured out as a gift also to people who were not Jews. They heard them speaking different languages (known) and praising God. (with a known language) Then Peter said, How can anyone object to these people being baptized in water? (a ceremonial law) They have received the Holy Spirit the same (not as a unknown tongue).. as we did!” So Peter told them to baptize Cornelius and his relatives and friends in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days..Acts 10: 44-48
After they were baptized with water as new members of the priesthood . . .men and woman from all nations they went out with the new tongue, the gospel of our salvation just as Peter was sent as a apostle...
What does the sign confirm according to the law? Unbelief (no faith).or belief( faith)?
