I, on purpose, don't capitalize it.Shouldn't "saturdays" be capitalized "Saturdays"?![]()
It's an English language thing, i think.
Its already enough of an idol as it is. Just not my idol.
Like God, and god.

Thanks, Deade, but I don't understand why Law keepers are so reluctant to give us a list of effective ordinances. With such a list in hand it would be easier for us to understand what you guys teach.

Greetings Marcelo,
It is the similar to asking you to write down a list of etiquette that you practice within your family and friends and church members. The Holy Spirit who is our teacher, and the scriptures NT & OT are a body of knowledge that we continue to learn and understand. To those who are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit find there is be an almost insistent conscience towards situations that press moral, ethical, compassionate, reasonable boundaries. Our maintenance of our proximity to God and the leading of His Holy Spirit through Faith/reading of His Scripture and prayer and meditation on His ways determines "the list" you refer to.
Not only that but He said, "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
And what does our Lord and Savior Jesus mean by least in heaven?
"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."
(Matt 5:19,20)
It doesn't sound familiar. How about we start from the beginning?Did we have an unfinished conversation a week or two back where I mentioned an answer to your question why some were not required to be circumcised and the Judahites were?
That's a great question, asking for a list. of those who say that Christians today should keep some portion of the written law of Moses, I have never had anyone post an actual list. Neither can I find one on the internet. No, I am not, but I know quantum physics is something nobody understands.
Does your church provide members with a list of effective Mitzvot, out of the original 613?
Thanks, SG! So, you mean you don't need a list of effective ordinances because you're guided by the Holy Spirit. But can you give me then a few examples of Mitzvot that you keep and other Christians don't? For example: Did you get circumcised?
Please talk more about how often you physically get together in a particular location with other believers for fellowship, and what happens there. No, The body of beleivers I fellowship with regularly are over the phone or net with occasional visits. We study the Scriptures and receive our guidance from the Holy Spirit. We fellowship and share our understanding and work together to insure that we are being faithful to the scriptures.
Cannot say I know of any "churches" that do that. Does yours?
I don't think God giving isreal a certificate of divorce does affect what laws we are to keep today. How would you think it would affect us today? Not saying it wouldn't, but would like to hear your reasoning.

Hi Deade,Marcelo, my advice is you want to start the spiritual application of Christ's commandments, ask yourself when and why each ordinance was established. Make an effort to keep the 10 Commandments and go from there. You will probably realize some things were established way before Sinai. View attachment 202144
one suspicion that I have is that those who say we are to keep some portion of the written law of Moses are to some degree spiritually unhealthy. Why?
Goodness! It was just a simple way of wording it.Okay, if your "thinking" is your standard for making that kind of determination that is your choice.
I know that you were talking to Marcelo, but I disagree very strongly that it is similar to asking someone to write down a list of etiquette that they practice within their family and friends and church members.Greetings Marcelo,
It is the similar to asking you to write down a list of etiquette that you practice within your family and friends and church members. How does one search the scripture for specifics on how to treat other drivers in rush hour traffic at 70 mph? We have universal principals such as "love our neighbors as ourselves" Which is a great place BTW to observe how many people are surrendered to that principal! But while that universal principal practiced mechanically from a list is admirable, the Laws upon our hearts are indispensable. So, when the Holy Spirit takes us to the Torah, as we should all read all the scriptures, are we open to the writing upon our hearts from these Laws? Or do we dogmatically reject any Faith we might obtain from these areas of Gods Words?
Bottom line, the intricacies of Gods command of a surrendered heart to Him relies heavily upon our daily even moment by moment surrender to His will through reading, prayer, meditation and even fasting. This "list" you ask about is relative to this. If today a man keeps himself, his mind on God (Isa 26:3; Phil 4:6-7) That list is long, yet easy to remember. If tomorrow a man walks in his own strength, that list is short.
Pro 3:1-12 NIV My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, (2) for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. (3) Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. (4) Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. (5) Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (7) Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. (8) This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. (9) Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; (10) then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. (11) My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke, (12) because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.
Do you think Gods commandments can now be forgotten, allowed to slip our of our hearts?
They love to water down the mosaic law. Then scream at people that try to show them how they are taking the law ouyt of context as hating Gods law.I know that you were talking to Marcelo, but I disagree very strongly that it is similar to asking someone to write down a list of etiquette that they practice within their family and friends and church members.
The law that Moses wrote down in the wilderness was just that, a set of written laws. If a person says that we are to keep the letter of some of those commandments, it wouldn't be too hard, it seems to me, to just go through what Moses wrote down, and highlight the parts one feels one is to keep today.
Then just copy the highlighted parts onto a separate sheet of paper, or your favorite word processing program.
Gods standard is that every word had to be confirmed by everyone, and obeyed, every word.Okay, if your "thinking" is your standard for making that kind of determination that is your choice.
Greetings Marcelo,
I was tickled by part of your question; "Did you get circumcised"? I thought of an eight day old motioning to the; whoever does the circumcisions, to getter done!
Not sure what you are getting at with the "mitzvot" line of questions. Is there a larger point you are driving at? No, I don't categorize myself in reference to others. I leave that to God. He separates us by our hearts. I treasure righteousness but recognize my shortcomings. Many treasure "right" ness. God knows the difference.
