perhaps I will just say if you do not understand what is actually occurring in the world, might be best to just listen rather than indicate you believe Americans are selfish people who do not care about others

Exactly............amazing how many flap their lips about America and or other countries without having all the facts and or a full knowledge of what actually takes place....for example....THE AMERICAN people are the MOST generous people in the world and have given TRILLIONS of dollars, medical aid, food, military defenses etc. to MANY a nation in need.........
Roughly 50 Billion dollars a year are budgeted for foreign aid, it's near impossible to figure a true number since foreign aid comes from numerous Federal agencies and federally funded charities in the form of cash, equipment, manpower, and food. That number doesn't include off budget emergency disaster relief that gets pushed through due to natural disasters, etc.
We had to memorize the pledge of allegiance in the 3rd grade and the national anthem. to graduate elementary school (6th grade) in Los Angeles we had to memorize and recite the above with the Declaration of Independence, The Preamble to the Constitution and the Gettysburg Address. I realize they took "under God" out of the pledge what's next? "All men were Created equal"?

When the Canadians threw my ancestors out of Canada, it was Louisiana, USA, they were allowed to settle in.
Times have changed since the 1880s. Back in the day there were people who desired to contribute to America via hard work and patriotism. Today the overwhelming masses want free stuff and refuse to ask for it in English.
I’m honored when people come here legally and have the heartfelt desire to contribute positively and patriotically.
Oh I agree.....the point was....since WW2 to the present we have given untold assistance in the form of cash, food, meds, military aid, protection, medical assistance, charities of every flavor etc.......I just threw out Trillions, because if it could be added I am fairly confident that it would be in the Trillions of dollars........Policing the world militarily alone would be in the trillions over the last 70 years.....
