I'll echo what
@Lafftur said in lining up with The Word in that, if you feel like something is of God. ANY revelation that you believe to be "of him" it MUST line up with the word. So if you feel like you are in God's presence in a dream or that an angel is speaking to you or you have a new revelation of scripture don't be hesitant to bring it up with another Christian. He isn't going to do ANYTHING that will contradict his word.
Where it gets dicey is in instances like Peter and the sheet...This is something people were confused about and God lifted the confusion by being clear, we can see that the gentiles also receive the holy spirit so that is not in question at this time.
Is it possible that there are things that need to be further clarified for the church as a whole? Yes of course, the mystery is not yet finished. Every revelation be it dream, vision, or thought should be met with scrutiny. Not "necessarily" suspicion unless you are clearly under attack or it's something you've not ever encountered before.
@Lafftur Idk which bible you read but it clearly says Peter to me

I reread it just now because I didn't remember it being paul but it's been a while ha.
I'm not ready to get into a dream discussion online yet but I do think there are categories of dreams and I've been almost PULLED out of bed to write some down. Dreams are the most unique part of being human to me. It's a way for the Lord to speak and even if our subconscious is providing us feedback, we can get his insight into that. There are times where we are under attack...these times are pretty clear. Bathe yourself in prayer and "get help" from the body (not being specific is okay if you don't feel comfortable) just let them KNOW. You have allies. Use them. Anyway...there's a lot to say and I just got out of a 4 hour conversation about dreams with someone that is questioning their faith and it really opened my eyes into how other people can view dreams and not recognize the Lord in them or that we have no choice and that things are inevitable in dream sources. Not so. Steep yourself in the word and you WILL see fruit.
Saying that something isn't in the bible is pretty vague so it would be helpful to say what you mean. If you had a dream about taking care of widows and you say that is not in the bible I would tell you to read it again
If you had a dream about that the takeaway was to treat all human life as sacred and come away with that as "not being in the bible"...again. I would tell you to read it again. Read the word and anything that really doesn't jive with your spirit that you are hearing. Speak out about it and bring it up. Peace.
Care to clarify? I have no idea what visions you are referring to that weren't scriptural or mirrored in scripture.
