Repentance is the realization that we are not perfect.
Repentance is turning away from sin and self and looking to God for forgiveness and salvation. The Old Testament uses the word “turn” or “turning” to describe repentance. Those who repent turn their backs on their sin to seek God; repentance is the conviction of guilt before God and the awareness that we are stained and in need of cleansing. This isn’t something we do, but it is something God works in us (Acts 5:31; 11:18). I Sourced that from the web but I am not able to copy the url.

What works are some of you going to do today to maintain your salvation? Please be specific.
They will sit on the computer claiming to be of God, how good they are, how sinless and righteous they are and boast of the losable salvation that they maintain while condemning the truth..........

Notice that Paul said to "work out" your salvation and not "work for" your salvation. When we "work out" at the gym, we exercise to develop our body that we already have and not to get a body. Farmers "work" the land, not in order to get the land, but to develop the land they already have.

The Greek verb rendered "work out" means "to continually work to bring something to completion or fruition." We do this by actively pursuing the process of ongoing sanctification, which is the result of being set apart for God's work and involves the process of being conformed to the image of Christ. This conforming to Christ involves the work of the person, but it is still God working in the believer to produce more of a godly character and life in the person who has already been justified by faith.

The justified person is actively involved in the process of ongoing sanctification, which has no bearing on justification. That is, even if we don't reach entire sanctification/live a sinless, without fault or defect, flawless, absolute perfect life in our lifetime (which we won't) we are still justified by faith in Christ (Romans 5:1). Where justification is a legal declaration that is instantaneous upon having been saved through faith, ongoing sanctification is a process.

There are 3 tenses to salvation. 1. We have been saved from the PENALTY of sin (justification) 2. We are being saved from the POWER of sin (ongoing sanctification) 3. We will be saved from the PRESENCE of sin (glorification) These tenses often get mixed up by works-salvationists.

That’s not a work; that the essence of Jesus Christ in you.
Many of these deceivers believe that we accept Christ because we love him........even though NO ONE loves GOD or can until they are born from above by faith......but hey....I guess it sounds good behind the pulpit......

Again, we have a part to play as individual, it is not all God, we either accept or reject but Peter is clearly dealing with rejecting after initially accepting it hence:

2 Pet 2:20If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.

This simply means faith in Christ can be lost and it is an individuals choice. You won't explain this away trust me.
Why would he trust you....nothing you say meets the standard of biblical truth............

Judas fell from Grace and faith. That's my point. So it is true then that a person can have the knowledge in Christ (faith) and still fall from it. Thanks for another demonstration.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA the rocks in my yard have more insight than you man.........I have never seen anyone that is as far off from the truth a you are.....

There is no understanding from the workers for Salvation , their ears are deaf , their eyes are blind...
I said it before , they carry a misery about them , it is a heavy spirit , no joy , just doubt...

I don`t know how you , mailman etc don`t feel the weight from them , they make me feel heavy just reading their post with question after question , never coming up with answers to the truth of the word of God...

Jesus said " It is finished "
It is God who gives us all we need to follow Jesus , to abide in Him , and through Him we obey , do good works that He has called us to do...

I sometimes can`t swing my sword high enough at the workers , I praise God for all you brother and sisters in Christ who swing without missing , sometimes I feel like Peter did when he chopped off the mans ear , but I know I cannot behave like that :censored:xox...

Perfect explanation, wrong conclusion.
God instructs you to repent and then causes you to repent, fulfilling His own command- wrong.

Luke 13: 4Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

By your description of repentance, is Jesus admitting to failure here?

Ephesians 2:10
For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

What is the irony that is appalling in my post ?
It is GOD who CALLS us to do His good works...

I am not sure what conclusion you are claiming is wrong. God grants grace to the humble, and promises to reveal Himself to those who seek Him sincerely and diligently. God gives us enough freedom to ensure that we are responsible for the choices we make, and it is a choice everyone must make, whom they shall serve. God makes it possible, for indeed, all things are possible in and through Him, but that does not mean we have no part to play. For myself, I know very well how opposed I was to anything Scriptural and traditional concerning God, and yet sought truth, which is embodied in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. God did not force me to lay down my opposition to Him; I repented of my rebellion over time as Truth was revealed to me.

But what are these good works? you know many here will not agree with you, the reason they quote the same passage but up to verse 9 only.

The effort to enter that rest is not about works salvation, but entering that rest through faith in Christ/believing the gospel. Their disobedience in Hebrews 4 was a manifestation of their unbelief. You think this is ALL about YOU.
The workers for and salvation losers have no clue that this is talking about a rest afforded believers in this life and they also have no insight into the fact that Judas is no different that all of the false teachers that claim Christ while being as lost as a goose....the power is int he message and not the messenger...a LOST man could stand and READ out of the bible or proclaim the correct MESSAGE without being saved themselves.............Paul spoke to this, yet they like a herd of buffalo being run off the cliff with blindly follow the herd mentality right over the proverbial cliff......

My 17 yrs old granddaughter is coming to stay for a few days...
I am to be a women of God , my place that God has set before me is to be a godly example of what God has taught me from His word...

To be a light for Christ , for her to look at me and know that Jesus is that light...
She knew me before I was born again , she sees the great change in me Praise God .

Today is all God has given to me , and He has called me to be a grandmother to my unsaved granddaughter , that is a mighty work from God...

I love everyone who proclaims Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. At times I don’t like everyone, but I definitely love them.
He proclaims a false gospel of works and losing salvation....he does not speak for and or represent the Savior............

But love is a work, how can it be 'not by works'.
You are dead WRONG about LOVE being a work.

You do not even believe the BIBLE. You do not do GODLY LOVE out of a HUMAN EFFORT.

WHAT DO I MEAN BY GODLY LOVE? It is a TYPE OF LOVE that Cannot be produced in the Human Body. It COMES FROM GOD HIMSELF.

Romans 5:5 (HCSB)
5 This hope will not disappoint ⌊us⌋, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Most of us here are VERY FAMILIAR with that kind of LOVE , in fact it just bubbles out of us. It is like a seed that GOD PLANTED in our Human Spirit or Hearts. IT WILL PRODUCE THE SAME KIND OF LOVE as the Parent SEED. THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE LACKING.

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:4-8 (HCSB)
4 But when the goodness of God and His love for mankind appeared,
5 He saved usnot by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.
8 This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.

Galatians 2:16 (HCSB)
16 know that no one is justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ. And we have believed in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no human being will be justified.

Romans 11:6 (HCSB)
6 Now if by grace, then it is not by works; otherwise grace ceases to be grace.

Romans 4:2-5 (HCSB)
2 If Abraham was justified by works, he has something to brag about—but not before God.
3 For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.
4 Now to the one who works, pay is not considered as a gift, but as something owed.
5 But to the one who does not work, but believes on Him who declares the ungodly to be righteous, his faith is credited for righteousness.

Galatians 3:9-10 (HCSB)

9 So those who have faith are blessed with Abraham, who had faith.
10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written: Everyone who does not continue doing everything written in the book of the law is cursed.

Romans 3:20 (HCSB)
20 For no one will be justified in His sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin ⌊comes⌋ through the law.

I have asked you TWO TIMES TO EXPLAIN how you think a human being is BORN AGAIN, and How you know it? And quoting a Verse, IS AVOIDING TO AN ANSWER THE QUESTION. I am convince You have never been born again, because of your willfully avoidance to answer the question. That is just Rude, unless You do not know how to answer the question. Most of us here are Born Again Christians, and Jesus said in John 3 you cannot get into heaven without being Born Again.

James 4:1-2 (ESV)
1 What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?
2 You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask.

You have a stubborn, divisive nature that YOU HAVE TO GET RID OF. Most one of us will be ready and willing to TEACH YOU how to be Born Again, and how to tell that you REALLY ARE Born Again. But you have to ASK, with a Teachable Attitude; and then we will be willing to share with you.

One bit of advice that I learned from an older brother a LONG TIME AGO.

Any time you think you have found a Contradiction in the Scriptures, YOU CAN BE SURE YOU HAVE MISINTERPRETED ONE OR BOTH VERSES. There are NO contradictions in GOD's WORD, just Misinterpretations.
