The next thing that happens is an act of repentance. Repentance is simply a mental turning from one way to another way. Repentance, although alot of things have been added to it, it's really just turning from our way to the direction of the caller, God the Father.
We still at this point don't have the Spirit of Christ, so Christ,His word, and the promises in His word are not ours to claim yet.
If we are still in agreement, were ready to fulfill our first act of Faith, pisteuo!
Pisteuo is an act, based upon a belief, sustained by confidence. We fulfill hundreds of acts of Faithing all day long. Each act of pisteuo is a specific act to a specific object of Faith.
In this case we are faithing towards him. The Vines defines pisteuo as " a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender". So our first step towards God or act of pisteuo is we offer our life and will over to God. We surrender our lives to Him!
This first surrendered life doesn't need to be perfect, just genuine. But it doesn't end at just that surrender. It's a specific surrender, based upon the belief God will accept the surrendered life, sustained by all the hundreds of daily decisions that support the fact our lives are not ours anymore.
At this point, we still don't have the Spirit of Christ. Christ is going to make a decision whether our surrender was genuine enough to move us forward in the Salvation process. The next phase, those accepted will enter into the parable of the sower phase of the journey. 3 out of 4 accepted surrendered lives will fail at that point. The one good soil will move forward.
Todays Church world has adopted the mistranslation, and is in effect claiming His Spirit, Christ,His word, and the promises in His word when none of those things are theirs yet. They think that they accept Christ after the repentant act, then emediately recieving His Spirit which is backwards. He accepts us, we don't accept Him!
In todays church world , they think they receive the Spirit of Christ before they enter the testing ground or parable of the sower. This means those 3 that fail would have the Spirit of Christ in them when they failed. None of us would agree with that.
