Agree, it makes no sense that believing OSAS caused her to be a greater sinner, so I would take that with a huge grain of salt and I mean huge even this is not big enough, seemed like an attempt to slander the assurance of the believer.

Also I agree, when I really started to take into account audience relevance, to whom those words written and how would they receive them within their culture and understanding, made a huge difference in my ability to understand scripture.
Also helped me to know when scripture is referring to salvation and when it is referring to discipleship.....just because the word "saved" is there it does not mean it is always about being born again, the context will inform us.
I feel sad for Nat as well, it will take a miracle for the blinders to be removed.

I think you have missed the point. Theology is a series of ideas of attitudes and points.
They effect where we are and where we need to get to.
A believer, who is being torn apart by sinful behaviour does not need you are saved, rest in this.
They will die. Not spiritually but physically. This is the problem of drug addiction and self abuse.
What they need is righteous goals, with good healthy limits and behaviour changes, called repentance.
This is where the wheels hit the tarmac.
Jesus calls us to life and transformation. If this transformation is just a change of our thinking and nothing
else, then we can say, yes it has happened or not it is has not, and no one knows.
If this transformation is without it we are dead, with it we are alive, it is fairly obvious when God has moved
and we have found life.
And this is precisely why I dislike anyone who treats knowing God needs zero impact on their life style.
It is a gospel with no reality or power.

Slow down Tiger...How about taking it up with you? John is dead.
What does it mean the law was given though Moses but another kind of law came through Jesus ? Does it mean no one had grace until the new testemtment. Some say there was no Holy Spirit given untill Pentecost is that your understanding?
Faith has a problem. We see what we want to see, or else we would change our beliefs.
Of course the way we individually see things if the truth, or else why would we believe it.
It is though possible there is a different perspective, other ways of expressing things.
If we do not explore and encompass these other views and know their strengths and weaknesses,
it can be us who is blind and not others.
I am happy to admit you could be right about your perspective, and in part I agree with it, but not
the way you express it or who you call enemies of Christ and the fruit of this approach.
If you think I am just an evil deceiver trying to sow doubt, then unfortunately that says it all.
We know we are indoctrinated when the ideas become personal and not factual, and the challenge
is hurtful and not just honest sharing. God bless you.
