He/She got offended a few days ago when I raked him/her over the coals over peddling a pseudo losable salvation.....and the play on words seems to indicate something other than a snake.....

It does but not faith alone, faith without love is nothing and faith without works is dead.
1 Cor 13:2....and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
Wrong again...faith alone is what saves everything after that in your two cited false examples are the direct result of the faith and salvation one already eternally possesses....get your facts straight because your gospel does not make the cut!!

Faith is hope and an assurance of things to come, it is a persuasion in our hearts; the furthest one can go to express this deep rooted belief is by confessing.
I can confess that i believe Christ is Lord and He died for my sins, so i hope for resurrection/salvation- that's all. Faith does not result into some works like providing for the needy.
Providing for the needy is a direct result of Love which we are commanded. Love and faith are two different things. Love is not a direct result of faith. Love is greater of the two.
Matt 25:34“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
These people are righteous because of what they did, they felt compassion for fellow humans and through love for them, provided their needs- not because of their persuasion or hope for salvation but because they loved.

Faith without love is nothing.
You cannot even quote the scripture right....and no...you are wrong...It is not that we loved him, but that he loved us and gave himself for us....end of the day...you do not know what you are talking about!!

Paul is talking about faith in Christ.
Faith is nothing more than hope for salvation, that hope without love is nothing.
Love is work based, it is not a belief or a feeling, the recipient have to feel loved by you through your words and deeds.

Love is a choice. I would not refer to it as work based - that sounds so "conditional" and we know God's love is "UNconditional."

The Bible shows that there are three categories of faith (1) saving faith generated by the preaching of the Gospel under the power of the Spirit (Rom 10:17), (2) the spiritual gift of faith as in 1 Corinthians 12 & 13, and (3) enabling faith to enable Christians to exercise spiritual gifts (Rom 12:3-8).
Love for one another is what we are commanded to do and love for another human doesn't come from faith (hope for salvation); you can sit and hope and have assurance for salvation all year but that will not help the needy around you (love).
That kind of faith that is not accompanied by works means nothing.

If i have faith in Christ (basically hope and an assurance for salvation based on what Christ did for us) and i don't help the needy around me (when i'm in a position to help), then the hope in me is hopeless, it means nothing.
A person in need of food and i have lots of food, a bereaved person in need of comfort, i can comfort them; my hope and assurance for salvation(faith) is not the one that leads me to help them but the love in me, leads me to help them. And if i choose not to help them, my faith is dead. So faith alone doesn't save, it must be accompanied by good works otherwise Jesus is misquoted here:

Why do you have to think, it was hard for Jesus to say, "come on here fellaz on the right, you were saved by faith alone."

I am a she and no you did not offend nor rake me over the coals as you so eloquently put it! I call what I see as I see it. My stand is VERY FIRM. THERE IS NO SUCH TRUTH AS OSAS!
Then I sure hope Jesus has alot of white-out fluid, for all the blotting out and re-writing of names He needs to do in the book of life..
