Hello BCSenior...Initially
When believers first receive the Holy Spirit through God’s free gift of mercy/grace,
they receive everything: reconciliation, justification, righteousness,
(positional) sanctification, holiness, salvation … everything!
Nice try....no dice.....how would you deacribe works of wood, hay and stubble that get burnt to a crisp?
And the verse I cited was written to saved, immersed church members....try again!!
If it is of grace it is no longer of works, otherwise grace is no longer graceYes, indeed.
It says have been saved, it was a completed act. This would refer to one's initial salvation experience >>> Ephesians 2:8-9.
Nothing to do with works following salvation.
Paul spoke to those who thought we were initially saved by the spirit but then had to perfect or maintain that salvation by works of the flesh.Initially

1. eph 2, Have been savedIf they are still alive...they are not saved...they are born again.
Galatians is mostly about Jewish Christians wanting to ADD to what Jesus has alreadyHello BCSenior...
How does Galatians 3:3 inform your position?
There are many NT verses about the result of habitual (unrepentant) sin,Another sinlessness in the flesh, works salvation preacher enters into our boards... Is it a delusion or is it pride that leads to one thinking they don't sin anymore? Or is something else going on inside the heart of one so deceived?
I will post another thread dealing with this. This would refer to one's initial salvation experience >>> Ephesians 2:8-9.

The apostle johns word on habitual sin and the child of God.There are many NT verses about the result of habitual (unrepentant) sin,
which were written in the epistles to the churches!
I like to think that I'm wise enough to NOT ignore and/or reject all of these warnings.
You can post all you want.. The truth will ALWAYS come out..I will post another thread dealing with this.
Galatians is relevant to anyone who is preaching a different gospel. By adding works to the gospel of christ. The type of work does not matter, the message is the same.Galatians is mostly about Jewish Christians wanting to ADD to what Jesus has already
done for them ... by going back and performing some of the old works of the Jewish Law.
Paul says in Galatians 5 that because of them doing this ...
they have been estranged from Christ and have fallen from grace!
Here again ... so much for OSAS.
You couldn't figure that out from the horrific theology in his 1st post?Hello! Before I even say a word of response please tell me your belief of once saved always saved? Thank you!![]()
Thanks for the Welcome!
It's comforting to see that you understand the red above!
But, what happens to a BAC who goes back into habitual sin?
And what happens to a BAC who stops repenting?
Yes, of course, we have verses such as the blue above.
We have many NT verses that appear to be OSAS ...
if we don't understand what some of the words actually mean.
BAC = Born Again Christian
Okay, we'll have to see how this verse can be reconciled with
1 john 3.9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him;
and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
So why wouldn't we reconcile the MOUNTAIN of eternal security passages and the few difficult passages with OSAS rather than the other way around? It might just be worthwhile for everyone to
RECONCILE the so-called OSAS NT verses
with those NT verses which stand against OSAS.
Isn't it ridiculous to stand on dozens of verses
while ignoring and/or rejecting many others?
Ridiculous!
Yes, RECONCILE all of the NT verses together
so they are understandable and believable
and in harmony, etc. --- I have.
NoOkay, we'll have to see how this verse can be reconciled with
the MANY NT verses which are dire warnings to the churches
about the deadly results of habitual sin!
Could it be that these verses were written to
those in the churches who were not BACs?
