Porn is a horrible beast. It can literally rewire the pathways in our brain .

There is a video I will post tomorrow that has helped people. Welcome, and don’t let the enemy condemn you. God loves you. He will help you. Be blessed sister.

It's like when I quit smoking, for the first time I really wanted to. I got on my knees and asked God whole-heartedly to please help me with the addiction. I hated smoking and looked up the horror stories of cancer patients, that helped. Porn is not filling your mind w/Godly things and He actually tells us to 'think on things that are honest, just, PURE, lovely and of a good report' Phil 4:8. Pray and be determined. God bless.

I’m sorry to hear about your battle with pornography. You are to be commended for your desire to reach out here, friend. Pornography is tenacious and progressive in nature -- to put it another way, porn is powerful because it offers a counterfeit form of intimacy and attachment. You’ll find plenty of useful information here: bit.ly/2rv0gfq. I’ll be praying that God will surround you with His infinite love, provide strength and guidance to overcome your struggles as you seek His guidance.

Pornography starts with our eyes. The Bible alerts us to the danger of allowing our eyes to lead our heart astray. A roving eye can awaken or intensify wrong sexual desires. Jesus warned that “everyone who keeps on looking at a woman so as to have a passion for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” (Matt. 5:28) Recall what happened in King David’s case. “From the rooftop [David] saw a woman bathing.” (2 Sam. 11:2) He failed to look away and to direct his thoughts elsewhere. That led him to desire a woman who was someone else’s wife and to take steps to commit adultery with her.

In order to combat immoral fantasies, we need to ‘make a covenant with our eyes,’ as did faithful Job. (Job 31:1, 7, 9) We must solemnly decide to control our eyes and not allow them to gaze with immoral lust at another person. That would include averting our gaze from sexually charged images, be they on a computer screen, a billboard, a magazine cover, or anywhere else.

I've been through the battle, leaps, and you will overcome.
It IS a battle, but through Jesus, you will win.
The battle goes on too, so as you gain victory, be aware that those same urges for porn may resurface.
If they do, battle them down! I am still battling too, so I identify with the fight.

Be blessed Fellow Believer, I'm praying for you.

Giving yourself ultimatums won't work.
We fail and get frustrated because we keep trying to do things in our own strength.
You can not finish something in the flesh that was started by Faith.

God wants to deliver you but He will not share His Glory with anyone,
If we could deliver ourselves we would take all the credit for it and there would be no need for a Savior.
We will only stop struggling when we completely surrender and realize we can not save ourselves.
It is the power of the Holy Spirit that sets us free from bondage, our job is to rest in HIS strength, not our own.

Praying for you.

I pray for you! I struggled most of my life with this same problem. I gave my heart to God, except I couldn’t give up this sinful nature to look at porn. No matter how many times I tried to make myself give it up it would always find its way back into my life. I tried justifying and rationalizing it in my mind. I think that psalm 51 helped me the most. Mainly it asks God to make me willing to obey. To restore the joy I had when I first received him. Read this and pray. Read it in several different versions. Focus on it and ask God to make you willing to obey. Trust me, you can not do it on your own. I’ve been there and it’s a tiring battle. If you ask God to make you willing to obey be careful what you ask for. God tried pushing me several times and I ignored the message that’s when he hit me over the head. lol. I know it is Him at work because a sin I struggled with for most my life was gone over night. I haven’t looked at any porn in almost 3 years now. I will say a prayer for you.

Mr. H---I like what you said about reading the same passage over and over, but with different Bible versions as that is an excellent way to learn/apply something from a different angle.

Dear Biblestudent. Do you think if David had saw Bathsheba and admired her beauty, even as she was bathing. He looked and saw her beauty then went back inside and had lunch. Do you think the fact that he looked at her and appreciated her form. Was this still a sin.

Praying in agreement with you for your deliverance. Got to allow the Lord Jesus to change your mindset. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
