Are you asking about whether God pre-ordains some
to salvation, and assigns others to eternal damnation?

People have a tendency to jump tot he first thought that come into their heads when they read how our Father has forknown us. They do not consider that when we repent in this age we are at that instant foreknown by our Father…… We cannot do much about how others do jump to a conclusion.

If we were forknows to be saved before the universe, why the universe? duhhhh.

so that your first thoughts?

Cool, please share more. scriptures are always good to share. I haven't made any decision as of yet as to that passage as it doesn't seem to align with so many other scriptures.

well by posting it you jumped on me about predestination which many think is false. so plenty of scriptures they use.

IF there was an allotment of those who were to be ordained for eternal life, and all of them believed.

God ordained them to be saved because God foreknew who would believe and embrace the atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ from the very beginning of creation..

The Prophet Jeremiah was foreknown before he was formed in his mothers womb::

Jeremiah 1: KJV
4 "Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, {5} Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."

Isaiah 49:6
And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Isaiah 60:3
And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

Luke 2:32
A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

Acts 13:47
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

Acts 13:48
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Thoughts....
God had promised the Gentiles salvation and eternal life through Christ, as He did to Israel.
All who are appointed and called to eternal life believe. (Jude 1:1)

Praise God our only Father in Christ Jesus!
Truly, what a good, kind, merciful, compassionate, loving, Great, and All Holy God we have! (Psalm 136:1)

It means exactly what it says. Those who believe are ordained or appointed to receive eternal life. The result of believing on the Lord Jesus Christ is salvation, and salvation includes the receiving of the gift of eternal life.

Does this verse say that God arbitrarily predestined some to eternal life and others to eternal life? Not at all, since eternal life is offered to WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord. Which means anyone and everyone should believe and have eternal life.

God has stated that only persons with specific characteristics will live forever.

The others will be destroyed.

God is love "agape".

Rom. 8:39

God is holy in His love and in everything He does

that would include His righteous anger and judgement

many think much of what God does, because He is holy, is not love because we do not love with His love

if that was the answer to what I asked you, then I would say you do not know but try to sound like you know
