There are other passages which point to the Antichrist as the Assyrian. We know from Revelation 13 that God will allow him to have power and control over all the inhabitants of the world but only for 3 1/2 years (42 months). So this passage would be relevant from Isaiah 14:24-26:
24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
Again we do not need to be dogmatic about this, but the book of Daniel makes it clear that this Jew will blaspheme the God of his fathers. And Paul tells us in 2 Thessalonians that he will sit in the temple of God and call himself God. To sit there means to have access to the temple as a Jew.
