There are way too many testimonies and conversions of people who experienced that very thing.
It's like you telling John that his vision on patmose was all in his mind.
A mans testimony is his Jordan.
The man converted has a story to tell.
You can poo poo all the ones outside your doctrine. Means nothing to a man that "been there ,done that"
"Ha,ha,ha,you really want me to believe a donkey will ever speak sentences to a human? That will never happen. Keep Fantacizing in your mind"
Pssst.....it already did once.
John was inspired by God....you, your view and any man's testimony....not so much.....

Amen! Mark 16:16 - He who believes and is baptized will be saved (general cases without making a qualification for the unusual case of someone who believes but is not baptized) but he who does not believe will be condemned. The omission of baptized with "does not believe" shows that Jesus does not make baptism absolutely essential to salvation. Condemnation rests on unbelief, not on a lack of baptism. So salvation rests on belief. *NOWHERE does the Bible say "baptized or condemned."

If water baptism is absolutely required for salvation, then why did Jesus not mention it in the following verses? (3:15,16,18; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26). What is the ONE requirement that Jesus mentions 9 different times in each of these complete statements? *BELIEVES. *What happened to baptism? *Hermeneutics.

John 3:18 - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who (is not water baptized? - NO) does not believe is condemned already, because he has not (been water baptized? - NO) because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
These guys that stand on the last part of Mark and deny the fact that there is strong internal and external evidence that it has been added........and yet they will ride their view right over the cliff like the Bison being driven off the cliffs in the 1800's without giving the evidence a serious, honest evaluation.....

dc, define the "last part of Mark" that was added.....
There is strong internal anf external evidence that it has been added by someone other than Mark.....writing style, the use of Greek verbiage not used by Mark in his entire letter, the way it ends, the out of left field statement with no prior build up etc.....

I don't see in scripture where baptism with the Holy Spirit happens under two separate occasions. I see where ALL believers are baptized by one Spirit into one body (1 Corinthians 12:13) and certain believers are "filled" with the Holy Spirit to accomplish specific tasks, as we saw at Pentecost when they began to speak in other tongues and those listening heard them speak in their own language.

as I stated earlier, I did provide scriptural proof from the book of Acts, that salvation is not being baptized in the Holy Spirit

that post was answered in a way that indicates no comprehension in what I wrote as well as a defense saying they did not say this and they did not say that, even though I never said they did. so no point in wading through that again; however this teaching that there is but one baptism, when the Bible has several, water included, is dangerous

this is a false teaching that is going the rounds here and it is not biblical

when someone begins a statement with 'I don't see', and then goes on to defend a defenseless interpretation with a mashup of scripture from the NT that has nothing to do with being baptized in fulfillment of the prophecy of John the Baptist, I can only agree with them that they are correct in stating 'they do not see'

I don't believe we need to go over and over and over with the same people to illustrate that we are sealed upon conversion...you are saved...but that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is not that occasion. The Bible speaks for itself on this

people go on to say that they have gifts from the list in scripture but no tongues or prophecy

teaching is acceptable, discernment and helps and others is all fine

but mention anything that is supernatural and takes faith to practice and a hew and cry will go up and torches will be lit and the heretic will be attacked

it's ridiculous and the very nature of the vitriol indicates something akin to hatred of these gifts IMO

which is why I say the attacks seem to have taken on a life of their own

@mailmandan dislikes the very words spoken by Jesus.
Not at all. I just dislike your misinterpretation of the very words spoken by Jesus.[/QUOTE]
Remember, he replaces the work of God in baptism with some man, And the spiritual water with physical water.

last I read that is called blasphemy, and is very dangerous

You did not provide proof. You provided your interpretation of a few passages in acts.

The rest of scripture trumps your misapplications of those few verses.

I agree that all are immersed by the same Spirit of God into one body, however Paul told the church at Ephesus to be continually filled with the Spirit and uses about 4 to 5 clauses to show the evidence of being continually filled....in other words I do not buy the "certain believers are filled" idea......we are all filled by the Spirit and the SPIRIT meets out particular tasks as needed and willed by God.

You just proved what I blogged -
you are an unbeliever of the word of God and your problem is with scripture.
No Waggles, the point is not an unbelieve to the word of God, but unbelieve to an man made doctrine.

Yes, But something had to happen to you.

Like being IMMERSED into the blood?

Do you know what the term is that means to be immersed? And who does it?
Col 3:3

"For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God."

Immersed in the blood? I don't remember reading that anywhere in the Scripture.

You asked.. I was just responding.
I don’t recall asking a question that you would give that answer.

But, I believe you are talking about blood and water from His pierced side. This is intimacy of the Bride with her groom. We are one with Jesus, being born of water and Spirit. Symbolized by communion.

It’s not a baptism. However, the Church of God, Anderson Indiana, non Pentecostal does teach this. I don’t agree.

To me, it wouldn’t matter because it wasn’t just the disciples that received the baptism with tongues and prophecy as evidence. Peter said it’s to us, and all our household, as many as the Lord shall call.

Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

I added no interpretation I merely quoted scripture alone Mark 16:15-20
the problem of unbelief is yours and yours alone
What does the interpretation say in respect to the series of things that follows after one believes are they a shadow as a metaphor.?

Come on Waggles. You know the answer. What is the new tongue that drive out lying spirits . The gospel? or unknow sounds?

The whole filling thing gets turned upside down to those who seek after something they perform ,

There is no commandment of filling something in that way as if God was served by a human filling station (hands as a will) There are things we can do to jeopardies the continuous filling we do works that lead to dissipation of the Spirit. We are not self service filler uppers .

We are filled every time we mix faith in what we hear a do his will . The sign we enter his Sabbath rest by not hardening of new born again hearts. But filling of the Spirit as it would seem self service style is foreign from the understanding of the Bible .

So then we do the filling up? How will we know when or how much ? Does it have to do with falling backward. is that evidence of being full?

What kind of evidence? Walking by faith or walking by sight.?

yes

the actual translation into our understanding in English would be

'be being filled'

again, there is no special class of people that God considers worthy of being baptized in the Spirit anymore than He turns people away who desire His salvation

whosoever will may come

neither myself nor anyone else here is talking about certain believers being filled
