My apologies, I think I may have misunderstood the gist of your question, given the second part of what Bob said as above.
I for one was shocked, but I need to be reminded that no one but Jesus is perfect

and undergrace is also not purr-fect

There are a few here who do, though I would not think UG one of them...

I misunderstood the context

the idea one is yelling or even the suggestion one is unwilling to think about anything because one cannot provide anything to refute what they have said is absurd. it just proves one cannot correctly deal with the truth and has to resort to personal demeaning comments. The word of God is Clear cut. And God has made it known what HE thinks about homosexuality and God has also made it known HIS plan for marriage. Weak inapt self-professing Christians will not change that Truth.
Very true - but neither will the Westboro types.

Yes. We need to treat homosexuals just like fornicators, adulterers, drunkards and all liars no better, no worse.
And how do we treat them? Taken to it's conclusion, would one not attend a male/female wedding because one or both parties are not a virgin?

If the list was expanded slightly everyone would be included. Personally, I don't think I'm better than anyone else. You have made a valid point that is central to this conversation as far as I'm concerned.
Which is again one reason I didn't act like a Chridiot at the reception. I'm in no place to be throwing stones.

That’s true. None of us are, but I have a tendency of getting quite judgmental and unfair when the debate is getting heated.

You’re jumping to conclusions.

Firstly you’re stating that my question has “presupposition”. It has not. It’s just your assumption.

Then you’re labeling my question a false narrative, which is a rather eccentric approach to what I said.

Is it difficult for you to keep it civil?[/QUOTE

You asked me :

Let me ask you a couple of questions: Am I a better person than the average gay person just because I’m not gay?

Or am I worse than a gay person?

Is it just a matter of black and white?

I have made a lot of choices over the years, not all of them good, have you?

the idea there is such a thing as an average gay person or a gay person whether you know it or not is a false narrative. There is no such thing as a "gay person" in context the revision of the word gay to mean homosexual. Your language supports a presumption that this sexual preference is a person i.e. class of people. it is not. Yes, your question does have one and it is founded in a lie that is perpetuated by those who support the false narrative that "gay " is a class of people. It is an act of sexual sin and God will not accept it as HE will not any sin Jesus came to save and set free not to endorse an act of sin because He loves the sinner.

My post wasn’t in regard to the gay wedding brawl. It was a general observation of how people are conducting themselves in society.

Let me ask you a couple of questions: Am I a better person than the average gay person just because I’m not gay?

Or am I worse than a gay person?

Is it just a matter of black and white?

And that's part of it too - in every other respect of his life Kevin embodies the Christian mores... outside of that he's really the most honorable person I know. So yeah, are we Christians any better than any gay person (or other sinner) just because we don't engage in that particular sin? Do we throw the baby out with the bathwater because of one particular failing?

But then I have to ask, what would Jesus do?

Wat did Jesus do?

Give the baby a lifeline...

and toss away if he doesn't take it

your question has presupposition. You approach a sexual preference from the position of "average gay person". You accept homosexuality as something like a race of people i.e. black or white. Good or bad has nothing to do with the context of a sexual preference God has said do not do. Fornication, adultery, drunkness all are acts of sin, that the Blood of Jesus can wash away. Which Homosexuality too is a sin, not a persons ethnicity. Your question is a false narrative from a humanistic position, not a biblical one. Everyone has sinned and fallen short, the church as made concessions to this act of sin while saying one sin is not more sinful than the others. True. Yet why do those make this sin less than the others?
The Bible clearly states that sexual sins are worse than others and affect us to a greater degree. BUT as pointed out, that is not exclusive to homosexuality. All sexual sins are included. And thankfully all can be washed away.

There are no gay people? o_O That is like saying there are no adulterers and no liars, only people who commit sexual sin or bear false witness. Oh, well, that is the end of this discussion then :giggle::giggle::giggle:

I can’t keep up with all the connotations you’re implying concerning what I said.

I think both you and I will find it hard to be in denial about the existence of people that are not straight.

Having established that fact, my question was merely a straight to the point question asking you whether you considered me a better person or a worse person since I’m straight?

It didn’t implicate any of your assumptions.

It's funny, I keep thinking if I scream at people they'll understand more; they never have, yet I still do it ;)

LOL right out of the gay apologetic playbook. The word of God is clear on that too. First, how do you know one is or is not a virgin? If we are assuming I can then to assume they are saved and repented of the sexual sin they have done and guess what? They can marry as the word of God says they can and be blessed. This is not the case of the gay couple who wants to be married. If they repent and receive forgiveness they still cannot continue in the marriage.
Exodus 22:16-18 and you can read in Deuteronomy also

it does not matter how I consider you, you and I are both on our way to hell without Christ. the term straight is PC term to identify those who do not claim to be gay or not straight. Christians should not be afraid of the word "sin".
