me: hi God
God: I see that you are reading a comment from choosejoy about "passion and inspiration" which you picked up as "key" relative to the given comment, in that you are thinking "find the passion and inspiration relative to "spiritual exercises" and work with those passion and inspiration
me: something like that
God: you are thinking, from mesame's comment, "application" is more emphasized than mere learning, and rightly so, "be doer of the word", and you also read "God should be the one speaking more than the christians who pray to God"
me: I did read that part

In a bit of a rough patch at the moment, actually for a while now. Need to strengthen my faith because at times it falters a bit. What do you all do to build your faith with God and to keep it strong? I could really use some ideas and inspiration.
I understand that faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God. So if it is faith you want to build up, listen to God's Word. Not just on sundays, but everyday on radio, recordings, live teachings in church, Scripture songs.

If you read the Word everyday, you can even read (or sing) aloud. That way, you 'hear' it as well!

God bless, valerie.

Hi sweets,

Worship music and quite/uninterrupted time usher me right into God's presence, helping me create a deeper bond with him. I am learning that this has to be a daily act because there is an enemy who awaits the day when he can mess up our day and destroy our positive patterns to seek God. Any doorway into a good habbit that can be broken, he is waiting to seize.

I am currently reading a digital book on the kindle app by Adam Houge. He has a dozens of quick short books about topics like these. I literally started this particular one last night, "How to Hear From God and Understand it." Part of his tips included making time to sit uninterrupted (I have kids and things can get hectic at times!) so that God can impress upon your heart. I know for me, I've missed some conversations that God was nudging me to have with him, because I was distracted, yet sensing the nudge, but still too busy to stop, listen and give him my attention (That is why I love the power of conviction, because it moves me to obedience).

So, for me, my approach to hearing from God and feeling connected to him, is to tackle the areas where I know are a challenge for me, thus making the sacrifice to be spiritually, emotionally and physically present in his precense.

Take all your cares of the day to him, throughout the day, and stop for a minute or 2 and ask him to speak to you. After getting in the habbit of actively pursuing his voice - even if you haven't heard or felt anything yet - becomes easier and you will begin to discern more easily when He has spoken to you or leading you to take a break to listen/speak with him.

I still have improvements to make in these areas as well. We are all right there with you at times.

Worship music also moves me to tears and conviction which push me right into his presence. I have a dedicated playlist on my phone with songs that break my down and move me to worship instantly.

I hope this helps you, from my experience. Because of your desire to lean on him, esp in this time off your life, he is standing with arms wide open waiting to love on you.

I pray for your peace and comfort during this time. ((Huge Hugs))

I forgot one of my main and vital points: Reading the scriptures and Prayer! I literally, before hopping on this thread, stumbled across a scripture by searching another scripture that popped RIGHT off the screen at me and I am headed back in a sec to bookmark and study it more. But God reveals himself and his will for us through his word. And it comes at such timely moments in my life.

Prayer. There is so much (good) damage prayer can do. It can bring our bad situations to a close, it can alter the course of your day in a positive way, it can reveal who God is and the very nature of God, it can save your very life, it can manifest healing, a broken spirit, you name it - prayer is key. So, after setting up my atmosphere of worship and getting alone to hear from God, I am led right into prayer followed by reading the scripture and my books. These are key.

Praying things have gotten better for you. I find that the following things help strengthen my relationship with the Lord and in return my faith becomes stronger:

1. Read His word daily
2. Pray
3. Talk with the Lord continuously
4. Sing worship songs
5. Ask the Lord to help you, ask him to show you all the wondrous things He does for you.
6. Fellowship with people that love the Lord.

The world’s way is to meditate. Meditate in Christianity means to mutter. We are to go through our day meditating on scripture or muttering scripture under our breathe. I think Paul said the same thing in a slightly different way. He called this muttering “praying continually with all manner of prayer.”

keep going, and you might get faint glimpses of Jesus, that you might confuse as your own imagination, even though it's actual spiritual senses

may this "provoke the envy to save the unsaved" (Romans 11:14)

I truly love HIM! HE has never forsaken nor cheated nor lied to me! MY JESUS. I AM POSSESSIVE OF HIM!
