Thank you, I appreciate it.

No, we do not pick on Adventist on this tread. It has been our observation that they have a TENDENCY to derail the thread to their private subject, SABBATH. That is always a heated debate of discussing, more often than not, LEADING TO ARGUING. You came across as one of those ALWAYS wanting to discredit PAUL, luring others to not trust the writings of Paul.

I am sure dc will tell you too, we frown on heated debates on:

The Deity of Jesus Christ, - THAT IS A GIVEN.

Doctrine of the Trinity, - THAT IS A GIVEN.

You must be BORN AGAIN, - THAT IS A GIVEN.

The inerrancy of Holy Scripture in the original manuscripts, - THAT IS A GIVEN.

The Sin Nature of Man, - THAT TOO IS A GIVEN.

I am a conservative evangelical, that goes to non-denominational Church.

Please tell us what type of Church you attend. Do not need the Name of the Church, just the Denomination; to see where you fit in, or do not fit in.
Where did you come up with a question on the SABBATH?

When you refer to "We" and "our" who are you referring to? Have I stumbled onto a private thread? I am new here and if this is your thread and you only allow certain people on here let me know.

No, there is know restrictions, except the givens in Scripture, because most of us believe that same thing.

Now you need to understand, we have been at this thread for a very long time. And when some one new comes it, we use our Discernment to weigh where they are coming from. That is why I asked you for your Denomination. From that information, we can Discern by examining their Doctrinal Statement of Faith. For if one comes in and he claims he is a Jehovah Witness. We know he does not Believe JESUS is GOD. In fact they will tell you that the correct wording in John 1:1 is:

  • 1 In the beginning was the Word,+ and the Word was with God,+and the Word was a god.
Now we can tune him out, because he is a Psuedo Christian Cult. They believe in more than one god, and they do not believe that JESUS is EQUAL to GOD, but a lesser god. We do not want to treat a cult member like a brother, there belief is anti-christian.

Do we think Seventh Day Adventist are a cult. Some probably do, but I do not. However, Seventh Day Adventist, walk extremely close to the Cult Line, especially on that Sabbath Issue and other issues.

The We and Our refer to like minded Christians. Here are some verses that support like mindedness:

Philippians 2:20-21 (HCSB)
20 For I have no one else like-minded who will genuinely care about your interests;
21 all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

Romans 15:5-6 (NKJV)
5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,
6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 13:11 (NASB)
11 Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

1 Peter 3:8-9 (CSBBible)
8 Finally, all of you be like-minded and sympathetic, love one another, and be compassionate and humble,
9 not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing, since you were called for this, so that you may inherit a blessing.

Greetings VCO,

I agree wholeheartedly. And thank you for that.

There are so many entries in the forums where there are flat out arguments about what Jesus and many of His apostles are saying vs what Paul is saying. And yes, these arguments are based upon our ignorance or lack of understanding of one or both verses.

Even Peter had to declare regarding Paul:

2Pe 3:16-18 NIV He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. (17) Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. (18) But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Do you find it odd that Peter focuses his warning regarding the confusion in Paul's letters to the topic of the error of lawlessness? This is what we all seem to be circling around. And in the same stroke of the pen Peter mentions, "But grow in grace and knowledge"! Does in not seem that Peter is counseling the intertwining of Grace and the Law?

I have no "dog in the fight" but the truth, When I enter the congregation of the saints I always establish the groundwork that the Holy Spirit dictates all truths, and that heavy handed doctrinal biases sideline growing in knowledge every time.

I love the passion of many on this forum, although I believe it is misdirected, but again I take my guidance from the Holy Spirit and that guidance rarely if ever comes in the form of anger or hostility or coercive threats. That is not to say that it does not come from discussion and study with fellow beleivers. So, anyone who wishes to prove a point under this spirit must ask; "is this the Holy Spirit guiding my effort?"

Sorry to bloviate again, but for the good of the Kingdom of Heaven we should all learn civility, so that we might all have a forum that promotes Growing in grace and knowledge.

NO, PAUL REBUKED PETER:

Galatians 2:11-16 (HCSB)
11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face because he stood condemned.
12 For he regularly ate with the Gentiles before certain men came from James. However, when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, because he feared those from the circumcision party.
13 Then the rest of the Jews joined his hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy.
14 But when I saw that they were deviating from the truth of the gospel, I told Cephas in front of everyone, “If you, who are a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you compel Gentiles to live like Jews?”
15 We who are Jews by birth and not “Gentile sinners”
16 know that no one is justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ. And we have believed in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no human being will be justified.

To all you young Christians here who are following the attacks, and I use this word literally, on anyone who asks questions or offers thoughts on spiritual matters, note the rudeness and calousness of these individuals and then ask if the Spirit of God would be involved in this type of behaviour. Then, if you answer "No", ask what spirit they might be influenced by. Then ask if you want to be under that kind of influence.....
Better yet....warn young Christians against liars and deceivers that imply or state that Paul contradicted JESUS......such as you have done!

And then take note of the verbiage employed by Jesus, John the Baptist, Elijah and PAUL whom you reject and deny.......they all used sarcasm, heated verbiage and a few particular names, such as Blind leaders of the Blind, Snakes, Vipers, Coffins filled with the bones of dead men, fools, bewitched, etc...........

If you will receive it, many of you come across strongly as gang of flippant religious thugs. Now maybe you don't want to come across like this, but it's there imho. Where is the humility and sincerity? I'm no where near perfect, less that any of you, but come on!

Sounds just like Fran/Godsgrace101

That verbiage "he" used sounded a lot like Fran A.K.A. Godsgrace101 A.K.A. ___________________

You just EXPOSED YOUR SELF:

Acts 20:28-31 (ESV)
28 Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
29 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;
30 and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.
31 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears.

Only a wolf uses those kind of tactics against YOUNG CHRISTIANS.

I understand a little better now what this thread is about. I thought it was an open discussion, but it seems to have become a group with relatively fixed positions. That's fine with me, but you should let people know that you are here to answer questions pertaining to your positions. I read a lot of false witnessing on here. You will be held accountable for every word you say so i council you to choose your words carefully.

Insecurity is the problem one is seeing displayed.
Jesus asked us to be perfect like our Father, in loving our enemies.

If one makes a friend into an enemy, maybe the agressor is not who they claim to be.
It is ironic how many seeds the enemy sows in the midst of Gods people, and they speak with such
certainty and lead the naive into places they should not go.

It is always less about the labels people carry but how love is expressed that goes beyond the
exterior and speaks to the heart. A parent sees the whole child, and their way of making sense of
the world no matter how flawed, they hope the light of love might spark the flame of hope in their
souls. Jesus said false teachers are shown by their fruit, what is in their hearts. It is not as if they
can deceive the elect, but we can testify to the Holy Spirit moving in our hearts and encouraging us
deeper and further into Christ. Amen

This sentence appears like grabbing you by the shoulder and pushing you againt the
wall and then saying the stuff, as if there is a threat of something.

We are saved sinners who walk in love and grace. This is not our approach or style, ever.
The Lord will judge and bring justice and it is for Him to execute judgement.

Everyday people get ill, find out their days are numbered and go to their fate, either with the
Lord or to destruction. It is sobbering to see even in these situations some go down guns blazing
as if this has any meaning or relevance. I just praise the Lord He holds us in His hands and nothing
can touch the promise we have in Him, Amen.

So I can but encourage you brothers and sisters in Christ to seek His face and shine from your hearts
His grace which He so generously bestows on His people, Amen

Greetings FollowHisSteps,

You speak well.

I cautioned those bearing false witness for their sakes not mine. One poster called me satanic, heretic, a wolf, said I was some other poster they new and made light of it. I am disappointed at how vile some become. Every word we speak we will be judged for. I had hoped it would make some think about the commandment not to bear false witness. I will not be posting here on this thread anymore. If I thought I could without all of the chaos I would.

Bless YHWH!
