Raining here too....Still have some Butternut in the Root Cellar. Hmmmmm!?
Oatmeal does that too. Not the instant kind you stick in a microwave oven but the kind that you cook on top of a stove. Preferably Quaker Oats. Good comfort food for a rainy day.Get it out on the stove , warm you from the tip of your head to your toes...xox...
I'll go with the Australian version, preferably at Outback Steak House. No Rules - Just RightAHA! "Barbie!"

The language that is spoken by common people in a particular country or region. A lot of peeps have their own personal vernacular. I like to use the word 'vehicular' instead of vernacular when I sometimes explain what I mean in a posy. That word confuses the peeps an is quite amusing, at least it is to me. Of course, vehicular refers to various means of motor transport and that word is part of my vernacular as well. What are vernaculars?![]()
Thank you...It was very warming on this rainy day...xox...

Be aware that juicing ought not become a habit. Separating the fibers leaves a hazardous ratio of sugar carbs that are naturally shileded by the fiber. Fruit and vegetable fiber along with the juice is more nutritional, and a lot lighter carbohydrate load and index when eating whole foods. Try to add the pulp back into the juice!Hi all...
I thought I would make this thread hoping to encourage those who are interested in juicing for health reasons , like detoxing the body , giving your organs a rest , or looking to lose some extra pounds that we want shifting...

The only ingredient I'm unsure of is the "Sweet five spice"
What is it? (made up of what spices?) The only 5 spice I am aware of is Chinese 5 spice (also all I can find on google even with "sweet" in the search words) which is made up of ground cloves, cinnamon, fennel seeds, star anise, and Szechuan pepper.
Rose,
Keep up the great work you are doing for yourself! I'm so glad you have a supportive Dr.
My daily food/drink choices have become better because nearly every time I reach for something, something you've posted comes to mind. Both from your words and beautiful pictures! You are such an inspiration!
I use a juicer occasionally whenever we rarely fall short of whole fruits and vegetables. Our Diabetes 2 is under control through diet, except when traveling when I go from a range of 85-102 to 150-180 on trips eating out along the route. Our problem with juicing is immediate weight gain from the high glycemic response of freed-up sugars. The second issue is getting a "sugar high" for an hour then the following "sugar low', which messes up a 2-3 hour sleepy block of the day when drinking juices. There are several hazards linked to juicing you should know about. Look at Dangers of Juicing which is at https://www.livestrong.com/article/94618-dangers-juicing/ There are interesting side bar references packed with more information.
Greetings Rosemaryx,Thank you so much GG , you have no idea how much your words encourage me...
Not all believe in what I am doing , a few have come up against me claiming juicing is harmful , but I put that down to lack of knowledge...
Yes I am so thankful that God has given me a lovely doctor , I actually prayed hard about this because my surgery has about 10 doctors , and most of them I have seen just want to add to my meds , but this one I am seeing wants me to work towards coming off them , I feel so blessed in more ways than one...xox...
Greetings Rosemaryx,
It is worthy of mention that your own desire to work your way free from the clutches of the pharmaceutical system is a blessing indeed! So many have not yet come to the place where you are. The pharmaceutical industry is one of the largest commercial ventures in the world. They rely on repeat business, so, they design their drugs to maintain a persons illness or condition while alleviating the symptoms. What you are doing is invigorating you own body to heal itself. And while doing it your healthy recipies with pictures are inspiring me! Besides making my mouth water,I made up some Butternut last evening thanks to you!
Thanks for sharing.
