In the area we hopefully one day will move to, it is predominantly traditional Lutheran and Baptist. There is a well known Lutheran Bible Camp at the lake, where I volunteer on occasion when I'm out there. Well, they recently acknowledged lgbqt - whatever it is pride day. I'm shocked, and need to discuss it with the woman I volunteer with; but I'm thinking I can't work there any more. Welcome the sinner but shun the errant brother - right? I can see where they are in a catch-22 - turn away gays et all, get sued and lose the camp, and with it the incredible witness they've built over the decades. But wow, I never expected that. The times, they are a-later than we think.

What do you do? Accept the alphabet soup, or close the camp?

Where I used to work, A residential treatment center for people, including Gays, that were so sick and addicted many had lost the life skills needed to survive in todays world. The minimum contract was for 60 days and the terms were follow he directions of all staff including interns. No drugs unless prescribed by a doctor* no alcohol including mouthwash and/ or cough syrup and NO SEX! *Certain medications were not permitted and all meds had to be approved, inspected, stored and issued from and taken at, the onsite dispensary. The consumers (clients) were not permitted to possess their own medication, ever. The contract was several more pages long.

I think if contract forbidding all sexual behavior was in place and enforced, I could stand to work there. Homosexuals need God's love too.

Well, this is definitely different from the wedding case. Now they’re inviting the SIN to their camp. One thing is getting a chance to preach to sinners at a wedding, but when you’re saying to the SIN: C’mon, I salute you, that’s an abomination.

The whole stupid thing is a legal issue. Being that if they don't allow gays they may have to close the camp. Win-win for the enemy. However rules can be established like no sexually suggestive behavior and dress codes. No make up etc. We can't single them out legally but we can create rules for everyone to follow.

Expulsion w/o refunds (or partial refunds to parents who send kids [teens] there to get the kids straight.) for serious "failure to comply" violation's? Kinda like a Christian boot camp? It sounds fun to me!

Good day Rickyz!

The issue that we are facing is not denying those who are LGBTQ from hearing the gospel and being saved. I would welcome any in that group who received Christ and have a repentant heart and are now wrestling to overcome that life style. However, the problem that we are having is that, those of the LGBTQ who claim to be in Christ are refusing to acknowledge this life style as sin, having no intention of repenting and that because they want to continue in it. It is this that we as Christians cannot condone or support. This is nothing short of abusing the grace of God so that they can continue living according to the sinful nature. The very fact that they have gay pride day reveals that they have no intention of repenting. Their goal is to have this same-sex life style as accepted as normal, which it will never be. Regarding this, I have been seeing more and more tv commercials depicting family events, which are including scenes where there are two men or two women with their children as a normal family. And I am sure that we will continue to see more and more of this. They're doing the same thing that science does with evolution, which is to cram it down our throats as the accepted norm.

Regarding this, I would bring to light what Paul did and said regarding the man who was sleeping with his father's wife, his step mom. Expel the immoral brother! He had handed him over to Satan for the destruction of the sinful nature. After awhile and after he and those who were proud of his actions had repented, he said to receive him back again into the church as a brother. Unfortunately, that is not the case here, because for the most part they have no intention of repenting. They want to claim Christ while continuing in the flesh.

Yes, you are correct, "The times, they are a-later than we think."

Well honestly the first camp I ever went to was military boot camp so my point of view is 1 sided.

At some point we will all have to chose to make a stand on the truth and make no mistake...it will lead to being ostracized, sued, jailed, and even killed........War is coming against the saints of God and we will be worn out and prevailed against for 3.5 years.....most have this grand illusion that we will go "poof" in some fanciful, invisible rapture and everyone will wonder where we went......more likely we will be hunted, persecuted, jailed and killed off with a FEW remaining in hiding when JESUS comes again.........

Sorry, close the camp. Find other ways to reach the lost. Acknowledging gay pride month is acceptance.

Yes of course you are right however I would hate to see the camp to become closed in favor of the gay agenda. It migh be high time for Christians to stand up, get out and have our own parades. Remaining passive on this issue is as bad as surrender in my opinion. The courts recognize whoever makes the most noise. Let's make some noise! We still have rights! "The squeaky wheel get's the grease", as Dad used to say!

Not only do we still have the right. We have the duty to speak out against sin. As well as the right to lawful, peaceful assembly. The word says; Ephesians; 4:26

"Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching."

"Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ."

It is not a sin, to stand against sin. Just do it in a patient, mature way.

There is a difference between loving the sinner and actively supporting the sin.
It seems to me they are doing the latter.

What do you mean they acknowledged pride day. Did they have a parade and make everyone dress up or carry banners or something . Yea you need to talk to the leaders of the camp on that one. If the leaders are gay and practising sin themselves then youve lost that one.

@dcontroversal Look at #15-19 on this thread. People want to grumble and moan about gay pride but suggest standing up for christian pride and silence.
