Gotta love Christian groups they bring me joy and peace of mind but then bring me worst eternal torment. Just was on geeks under grace and someone posted Jesus's words not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter heaven and they said even one with fruits are not enough. Well I barely have fruits as it is....so I guess even less qualified than I thought. I appreciate when people dont water down verses but at least they should accommodate for those struggling with other verses otherwise as one person pointed out it kinda seems like there saying your going to hell no matter what and so and so is not a Christian...sigh

Hi @Kojikun, none of us are even close to being "qualified" to receive eternal life, even after years of doing our best to live for and being sanctified by Him .. e.g. Philippians 1:6, 2:12-13. Remember too that the living God brings His gracious salvation to those who know that they need it (who know that they are sick and in need of a Doctor .. Mark 2:17).

He is, after all, the One who "justifies the wicked/ungodly" .. e.g. Romans 4:5 (not the self-righteous), and He knew exactly what He was doing and who and what He was getting when He decided to save you (and me too).

Remember the Cross and and all that He has done for you, so that you can learn to trust Him with all of your heart ..
Proverbs 3:5-6. He has certainly proven how much He loves you .. e.g. Romans 5:8-10, 8:1, 28, 32; 2 Corinthians 5:21 :)

Praying for you!

~Deut

p.s. - if you'd like to take a look at what Matthew 7:21-23 is saying, just let me know!

Deut is so right! You cannot be saved on your own efforts to be good. The Bible is clear we are saved by grace through faith.

"For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 it is not from works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them." Eph. 2:8-10

"Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory." Romans 5:1-2

God is the one who gives us the gift, it is not of ourselves. And we work, not TO BE SAVED, but because WE ARE SAVED!

The best way I know to have the fruits of the Holy Spirit are to read the Bible, pray, attend church and fellowship with other Christians. God will teach you through the Holy Spirit, where he wants you to go. God bless!

These people are Works salvation people Kojikun.. Do not let your hope be destroyed by fruit inspectors telling you that you are rotten.. Jesus came to save us because our fruit is not perfect.. If we had all the perfect fruits we would not need the atonement of Jesus to cover up all the rotten stinking fruit we stink off.. Fear not Jesus will cover your failings and will transform you in the day of resurrection into being that perfect peach you never even dreamed you could ever be. :)

Now lets have a closer look as see what these people in the Bible who cried Lord Lord where trying to justify themselves with.. All i need to do is add the following two verses to get the Very important context.. Lets see..

Matthew 7: KJV
21 "¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. {22} Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? {23} And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

So Kojikun what where these people trying to justify themselves before God with?
Thats right their many wonderful WORKS :rolleyes:

Now how would a Christian respond to the LORD ? Lord Lord have we not believed in thy Gospel and trusted in the Atonement thy hast secured for our eternal redemption.. (y)

But these guys in the scripture cried out I did this and I did that and we did so many good deeds aren't we good enough because of all our WORKS.. They where WORKS salvation believers Kojikun. They had rejected salvation by the Way of the Atonement of Jesus.. They rejected the Payment Jesus made to save them and tried to earn the payment themselves by their wonderful WORKS..

I would feel great fear for that ""geeks under grace"" person for preaching that to you.. Because he sounds like a geek under the bondage of WORKS and if he / she does not change their mind and start relying on what Jesus did for them and not on their imperfect fruits, they will be headed to the hot place that has no air conditioning in Eternity..

Look up Phillipians 3:1-13. These are some good verses and may be helpful and encouraging. None of us are righteous enough, not even close. But Christ Jesus is righteous. Look to Jesus for salvation not how good or bad your works are. Sometimes I like to highlight verses on trust, peace, salvation, or things that stand out to me. Many times I have highlighted trust verses in green and peace verses in blue as an example. But at times I may mix it up and just highlight it whatever color so it is not always the same throughout.

For the sake of the argument, assume that doubts of your own salvation is evidence that you are saved

Keep doubting to be saved?
1 John 5:14 can correct this

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (1 John 5:14)

God want us to have confidence

If another faulty assumption, assume that doubts of your own salvation is evidence that you are not saved

To minimize risk of being unsaved, avoid doubts

If doubt persist, based on that assumption, then settle the doubt by accepting (by faith) Jesus as savior

Or, doubts are simply not evidence

And it is not you who qualify

But the savior who qualify

Some people might have noticed 'bad spelling rating' on Deuteronomy's post/reply.
- Not there anymore.. It was removed.
---
I did not know about that until Deuteronomy sent me message.
- Good thing he did..
--
When I saw that rating, I was stunned!!
- I do not remember giving his post any ratings!
I went through this thread very quickly.
- Did not have time to read posts/reply.
---
I am still puzzled.. how it happened.
---
I did not know that there was such thing..
- 'Bad Spelling' rating!!
---
I am writing this post..in case some people might have questions about that rating.

Blessings,
