@calibob please check out the last one at least. Occult Deception. Think about it, the man made Time Mag cover. What does that tell you? Certainly not the wise and poor, quiet man who saved the small city.
My son in law replaced the modem today and I have been offline 5 hours because like usual everything he tries to fix breaks right away. A few minuets ago I got back up and running and when I got on skype with @Magenta she told me about what was happening here. This was my first response.> from skype;
Well, I'm not a follower of his either. (rick Warren) And my CR text was copyrighted 1998, 21 years ago. I have seen for myself that people who follow men with feet are usually led astray when the leaders come under the influence of money, authority and power. It is what I have come to expect. Out of men. is it on the Gay wedding thread still? I'll copy paste tis skype message to it. CR was never intended to replace worship at all. It is only a supplement. like a vitamin was not intended to replace Good Food.

She responded;
I refused to buy the bible they wanted to sell with the celebrate recovery course;
my next response was;
I didn't buy it either. In fact I was looking for the salvation army's version which had a 12 step footnotes and their biblical references directly from the bible and not the big book either.
I'll read further but this is my first response.

Beautiful scripture, what's the context? Many scolars believe the poor man is a picture of Yeshua/Jesus. Even if it describes a man observed by the writer, it is a perfect shadow of our Redeemer. The "little city" and "few" are the saved.

Eccles 9:13-18 I have also seen wisdom under the sun on this wise, and it seemed great unto me: There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it. Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard. The words of the wise heard in quiet are better than the cry of him that ruleth among fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war; but one sinner destroyeth much good.
It was just a beautiful panel I found that I felt could be applied to partially explain the benefits of humility.

I have never followed leaders that aren't in the bible. I have seen over and over what happens to those that do.

I've been saved over 40 years and I'm 65. In my lifetime alone I've seen Reverend Ike, Pastor Little Richard, That idiot that started the started "The Children of God" sex cult. Jim Jones, Jim and Tammy Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart's sex scandals. Bob Schuller and his readaptation of Peal's power of positive thinking into possibility thinking and the crystal abomination he helped to create. Even Chuck Smith let us down by predicted the year the rapture would occur, decades ago. David Koresh? Doe and heavens gate cult. Arggh.

The list of men who may have been anointed once but took a Segway own the wrong road is staggering. It dosn't mean everything they wrote and shared is wrong.

Isaiah 55:10-11 New Living Translation (NLT)

10 “The rain and snow come down from the heavens
and stay on the ground to water the earth.
They cause the grain to grow,
producing seed for the farmer
and bread for the hungry.
11 It is the same with my word.
I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to,
and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

I use celebrate Recovery as a model to reintroduce the biblical principal back into the twelve steps like the Oxford group did and the early founders of AA changed to meet their agendas and make them more appealing to non believers thus you have the reason CRA was started. We are to put the words of men to the test of the word. Not to blindly follow all of the teachings of any man that isn't in the Bible. Even then context is the key. I could say Judas went and hanged himself, so go ye and do likewise is in the bible but it's NOT LIKE THAT. I applaud your diligence really keep testing leaders. It's our job. In fact some Guy named John Baker is the author of Celebrate Recovery, not Rick Warren.I have within reach now. here are some of my recovery texts that I share from. The order is backwards the Bible comes first but the transfers from life bits got reversed.>

Anyway in the end the battle is lost
it is no longer about whether or not RickyZ or others should go to a same-sex "wedding" or wedding reception
the rainbow brigade have won
having divided Christian churches on the "gay issue" they now have access to holy ground and the altar of God
this is where it ends regardless of our opposition and our lack of Christian love to sinners

Eva Brunne - lesbian bishop of the Lutheran Church in Sweden
Gerd Eva Cecilia Brunne (born 1954) is a bishop in the Lutheran Church of Sweden.
She became the Bishop of Stockholm in 2009.
She is the first openly lesbian bishop of a mainstream church in the world and the first bishop of the Church of Sweden to be in a registered same-sex partnership.
Since 2001, Brunne has been in a registered partnership with Gunilla Lindén, who is also an ordained priest of the Church of Sweden.
The couple's relationship received a church blessing and the two have a son, born c. 2005.
In September 2015 Brunne proposed the removal of symbols of Christianity, including crosses, from the Seamen's Church in Stockholm Harbour, to open the church to worshipping sailors of all beliefs, and to mark the direction of Mecca as a service to Muslim visitors.

Oh it just gets better and better all the time.
Face it we are no longer of this world any more. We can try a smack them with bibles or try to reasonably lead them to them with love. Not condemnation. My late step father used to say; "You'll draw more flies with honey than with vinegar!" He would by 105 this year.

Ok, I heard it. I'm not a follower of him, never was. My specific ministry is to the the mentally ill, the addicts, the homeless and others that have given up on life. I share that Jesus is the one and only true higher power that can restore them and redeem them. Apologetics, Ancient Greek or Hebrew theology is for Bible scholars. I'm not trying to change them. I neither follow the Pope, Calvin or Luther but my Favorite semi modern Evangelist was General William Booth Co Founder of the Salvation Army. He said;

"No sort of defense is needed for preaching outdoors, but it would take a very strong argument to prove that a man who has never preached beyond the walls of his meetinghouse has done his duty. A defense is required for services within buildings rather than for worship outside of them."

"To get a man soundly saved it is not enough to put on him a pair of new breeches, to give him regular work, or even to give him a University education. These things are all outside a man, and if the inside remains unchanged you have wasted your labor. You must in some way or other graft upon the man's nature a new nature, which has in it the element of the Divine."

"The greatness of a man's power is the measure of his surrender." gen booth faith-and-works-quote.jpg
And his wife and co-founder said;
The light of eternity.jpg Do you get it? Jesus went to the sinners and made them righteous. Sinners didn't become righteous then come to him!

No wonder there much confusion and sinning abounds.
Did no one preach to these people?
Like lemmings they are going over the cliff to perdition.
But hey let's not say anything because that might offend them now and I would be hateful and unkind in doing so.
Unfortunately while living in San Diego, Los Angeles, Long Beach and Las Vegas I've realized and know that tax payers support the demonstrations and parades. To paraphrase the gay agenda, "They're here. They're Queer and we gotten used to it." If there are 50 million strong, bible believing Christians left in America, that's less than 15% If we go out and protest them, the curse of the new law might be upon us. We could get arrested for violating they're civil rights.

About 70 ad;
Revelation 1:1-3 New International Version (NIV)
Prologue
1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Are we surprised or shocked by the kind of world that was predicted? I'm not.

Our nephew, who is one of the most respectful and responsible people I know, is marrying his boyfriend.

Do we go out of respect for him, or stay away because of the gay issue?
No he's not. Practicing sodomy is not responsibility, it is an utter abomination and the epitome of irresponsibility. Also, they're not getting "married."

I hardly believe that what is happening in some obscure church in Sweden is a definitive sign that the battle is lost. It is clear in OT scriptures that it is God who controls the access to the holy ground and altar. Exactly what has the rainbow brigade won?

I hope you don’t compare the subject of this thread with that. The subject here is the OP’s considerations on whether to attend a wedding/civil union or not.

It’s quite a different thing bringing a lesbian bishop into the debate to underline how wrong everyone else than you are in every biblical sense.

First of all I’m not sure whether a woman should be a bishop in the first place, but if she is, she has a responsibility to be the leader of the church on sound biblical ground. By living with another lady, and giving room to Muslims, she is not. I’m all about having a good relationship with other religions, but not as a regular and permanent arrangement inside our churches.

Secondly, her task is to unite the church, not divide it. She must have been aware of that her relationship with her girlfriend would be raising eyebrows, to put it mildly. Yet she chose to put herself in a situation where she eventually would be appointed bishop.

How can you compare the administration of a major church with RickyZ’ nephews wedding? He’s just a sinner like the rest of us, but a bishop has a responsibility to lead the sheep.

Since I'm the only family member to openly denounce Catholicism. Catholic baptism, wedding and funeral receptions, along with Christmas, New Years, Easter and Fourth of July and Thanksgiving parties customarily allow drunkenness and gluttony Am I supposed to boycott Family get togethers because drunkards, gluttons, adulterers and my gay cousin will be there too? That sound kind of extreme. Amish almost.

You read too much into a man kissing another man. It is not common in our Western culture with maybe the exception of the French. I was once even among Christians where they would kiss a brother on the lips. I tolerated it, but was never comfortable with it.

These younger generations seem to be paranoid about many things associated with homosexuality. I have even slept in the same bed with a couple of other males when that was what was available. We didn't see anything sexual about it. I blame this paranoia on the coming out of gays and transgenders. Now, they openly proclaim their perversion.

Getting back to judging them, I don't do that. I have had gay friends and I treated them well enough as long as they didn't try to recruit me. That said, we must as Christians stand against any legalizing any special human rights status for them. For then it becomes illegal to condemn their ways as sinful.

While they are out of the closet and visible they are recruiting even if just by inference. By that, I mean if they can get a child to question their sexual orientation many will choose something other than normal. That is part of New Age psychology: saying we are born with our sexuality intact instead of it being learned. Some children will do some of this just to stir up mischief as foolishness is in their hearts.

Pro. 22:15 "Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."

Pro. 29:15 "The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame." :cautious:
Well it was Judas.
Its an observation. I have had gay workmates, i dont know if they went round kissing other men as a rule never really hung out with them, but apparently thats just one of the things they do.

I dont know what kind of kiss that was, but he didnt just tap Jesus on the shoulder.

It could have been just a greeting kiss, but im pretty sure it wasnt a holy kiss as Paul says to greet each other in the Bible. 1 thessalonians 5:26

Only reason I say it might be something more is Judas reaction to Mary anointing Jesus feet was unreasonable. Mary was closer to Jesus than Judas was, so maybe he was jealous, although he was eyeing the perfume cos it was costly.

There didnt seem to be any brotherly love with Judas toward Jesus. It may have been something else.

I sort of fell into it. I was at a bible study and mentioned I was looking for a job and one of the more mature ladies told me she thought I'd fit in just fine, she knew the owner and 2 of her daughters worked there.
I preferred working nights due to the heat of the day. I love work with the public in a busy place so after a short interview they took a liking to me and they needed a big man on job for the sake of the mainly female staffs safety at night in wild Las Vegas. I started as a wedding coordinator. Then I taught myself photography and quickly became the ad hoc night manager. We didn't do gay weddings but the place 2 door up the strip did.
I enjoyed it for the most part. made good money commission + tips and worked my favorite hours. 11pm -7am. I met celebrities more than a few times. I just got burned out on alcohol, gambling and all I could eat buffets everyday. In short, I ran for my life.
Oh interesting. That you got commission on weddings too. It is a business though. Why were you in Las Vegas though, isnt it known to be Sin City.

I read this book called The children of Las Vegas. It was really sad for children growing up there. They just dont know what a normal life is. Their parents are gamblers, pimps and addicts. All of them want to get out.

From the little that I know about the Amish I do know that they shun those who don't strictly adhere to the program.

Las Vegas is a lot more that simply what happens on the Strip or on Fremont St but rather it is a large metropolitan area. Most people that actually reside there are, in fact, not gamblers, pimps or addicts. It is true that Las Vegas in known as Sin City so it stands to reason that Jesus is there too because He is the Great Physician and that is where the sick people are. There are also a great many well established Christian churches there also with those willing and able to humbly serve the Lord in the capacity that He assigns to them.

It seems it is not an obscure church in Sweden, she is the Lutheran Bishop of Sweden. Lutherans are predominate there. What this tells us is the sorry state modern Christianity has fallen into. The more lax they become to more they resemble the world at large. Like the saying goes "If you stand for nothing, you fall for anything."

Now, on to the rainbow brigade. In some states there are laws that forbid us to say their lifestyles are sinful; it won't be long before it becomes a federal law. You could go to jail for saying so. Can you imagine a preacher being dragged from the pulpit for calling them sinful?They now have Federal privileged status marriage and adoptions. They have their foot in the door and we can't shut it now.

I could go on and on about what the LGBTQ are changing in our society. Lookup the pride parade entry on Wikipedia, you will see how widespread it has become. They are openly mocking our Christian values. While they are now open and very visible they are recruiting. Even if just my inference. Children are foolish and confused anyway and if they can get them to question their orientation, some are bound to choose wrong. :cool:

But there sure are a lot of people being killed off until that day.
Did you expect that christians would have victory before the lord returns?
Jesus was killed off, did He have victory over Satan? Most of the Apostles were killed off, did they have victory over Satan. Consider:

Rev. 12:10,11
"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." :)
