To repent (metanoia) means to have a change of mind/heart way from one belief towards another
To repent in the biblical sense is to turn towards >>>>> Christ Jesus as Saviour away from self effort and dead good works >>>>> and accept His free gift of salvation making Him the object of your faith because He bore all your sins on the cross and accepted judgement in your place so you can be declared innocent of all charges/sins.
But what of today when you missed the mark on Gods daughter via your lack of understanding and assumptions?
You consider making outlandish false claims.... living right?
Look, this shouldn't be putting your life on trial... the point is, it is not a mans walk/works which justifies him before a perfect God...
It is by grace through faith we are justified by the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Our walk definitely justifies us before man, and God works in His children who He has GIVEN eternal life to already in order for them to conform to the new desires He has placed in them upon making them new.
If you place salvation on your own shoulders while using faith as a prerequisite and not our only part in salvation... then you belittle Gods grace and GIFT while making it a reward instead...
Even our faith itself is a blessing...

I know the sins that I have committed in the past, and so I know my weaknesses so I am doubling up my efforts to avoid them going forward, test me quiz me I love it
That is right you see , you will still get sinful thoughts , but we cast them down in the name of our LORD and Savior , and not entertain them , yet they will still come into our feeble minds , and that is why we need the armor of God to fight these battles that satan and his minions fire at us...
