I hadn't considered a prior spouse, buy I'm sure God first and in the center goes without saying for you.

Money is like water. You need it to survive, but having more than you need doesn't necessarily make your life better, and having too much can actually destroy things. And the more you try to pile up, the faster it flows away.

Most "insights" we stumble upon are relatively trivial until they collide and connect unexpectedly into something novel and profound
 
life is like a fart. We arrive on the scene, make a big stink and hope somebody at least acknowledges our existence, then we are blown away and nobody even knows we were here.
 
What? You thought that vapor in the wind the Bible was talking about was something else?

The main problem with having too much is we will start to depend on it. This is because our flesh makes us habitual creatures. Once money becomes our provider, we won't think we need God anymore. This becomes a snare to the very rich. That is why Christ told the rich young man to sell all his possessions to follow Him. :cautious:
 
That too. But it mostly causes problems with greedy people trying to get your money. Win the lottery and see how many people claim you fathered their children, or they slipped and fell on the sidewalk in front of your house, or you bullied them in high school and they were emotionally scarred for life...
 
I have noticed as people (in general) get older, adventure becomes less important and comfort and security become more important.

It seems possible that the key to happiness is to realize this as early as possible, so one can do what is necessary to gain comfort and security while one is still young and strong and adventurous enough to do it.

Not that this is a new thought, but the truth of it really struck me.

What we say is POWERFUL; we should make sure what we are saying reflects Christ.

I was asked to take part in interviewing for new teaching positions that opened in our school district. It's been an interesting experience, but I was amazed at one thing... after interviewing a very nervous young lady, the others were listing many negative things that honestly had nothing to do with her ability to teach, I stated a positive and everyone in the room changed the tone of what they were saying.

We offered her a position. It was an unsettling/surreal moment and I feel the Lord was showing me that what we say has an impact, a bigger one than we may realize. (I was also thinking, wow, the people I work with are very wishy washy, BUT I think that can be said for many people in the world right now.)
