No offense Ricky, but you seriously need to stop being a door mat, and start standing up for yourself. You're a Christian!! Start showing that you have the morals of one, and don't attend the reception tomorrow..

32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 10:
26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
Luke 9:

I would not attend. Although we are not in the OT dispensation, God specifically condones sodomy. That is why there is are many many cross-references where the Lord not just refers to it as a "sin" but an abomination. That's why the 1 Co 6:18 comes to mind when I'm thinking of this. As Christians, we are charged to be a light unto the world, and just as the institution of marriage is God-ordained, it also represents to us as a picture of Christ's relationship with the Church. How could we be a light of we don't take a stand for the institution God has established and promised to bless?

21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Our nephew, who is one of the most respectful and responsible people I know, is marrying his boyfriend.

Do we go out of respect for him, or stay away because of the gay issue?
Poor nephew ! I don't what you did but I would have gone without hesitation ! Love is greater than ostracism !

It's easy to blame Ricky for going to a sodomite celebration. But do we fall under the same sin? If we're running a cake business, and a sodomite asks us to bake a cake celebrating sodomite union, would we still bake it? What about if we're running a hotel business, and some sodomites book a room? Do we tell them they can't stay? And what if one doesn't realise they are sodomites at first, but only later, after they have unpacked their gear. Now kicking them out is that much harder. Do we still kick them?

Now what if it's not sodomites, but an unmarried couple. At first, you might just think the dude is her dad, or step-brother. Or that they're really married, but she's a feminist, so has a different surname. Do we kick the unmarried couple out of the hotel?

Back to our cake business. What if the unmarried couple are having a celebration because the lady is pregnant, and want a cake for her baby shower. Do we bake a cake celebrating conception out of wedlock?

What about war? War involves the murder of innocent men, women and children. Yet do we purchase a red poppy on Victory Day, to celebrate the deaths of these innocent victims? Or buy a trinket to support veterans who were injured fighting in said wars?

Are we just as sinful?

Several of you talk like Jews, Abomination, Abomination ...

Several of you acts like Jews who were scandalized seeing Jesus eating with sinners ...

You know what, It is the Jews who killed my Lord ... You can't be Jews and Christian at the same time ...

Jesus you are the only I want to follow ...

Ephesians 5:1-8

Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odour of a sweet smell.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints; nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, which is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them;

For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord; and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them; for the things which are done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of. But all things when they are reproved are made manifest by the light: for everything that is made manifest is light.

Then the Jews persecuted one of their own, because Jesus was a Jew.. Also, the bible calls the gay lifestyle an abomination, sooo....

Can you imagine Jesus attending a gay wedding? Jesus even had a tantrum in the temple when people turned the temple into a market place, how much more when it's an abomination like a gay wedding. Jesus was eating with sinners to teach them, not to tolerate their sin.

Jesus ministered to sinners. He did not partake in or support their sin in the slightest. In fact, his attitude towards sinful practices is shown in the treatment of the Pharisees in the temple.... In the Western world, attending a wedding, a ceremony or another formal occasion is symbolic of showing support or respect for that person's position.

Several issues with what you are saying here. The Bible says homosexuality is an abomination, it has already been judged a sin. As others said Jesus ate with sinners but never condoned their sin.

Jews as a people are not Christ killers. The first Christians were Jews. Gentiles were grafted in. The Jewish leaders had Christ put to death, not all Jews are culpable for His death. Our sins were the reason for His death, therefore we are partly responsible for his death.

As far as going to the gay nephews wedding I don't know that I would go. But if I did it would be with his knowing I disagreed with his lifestyle, but I loved him and wanted to keep the door open to witness to him. Other than that you're supporting a sinful lifestyle.
