I dared consider what language was common before division of peole at the Tower of Babylon according to new languages created. Because of the many languages resulting, I realize there was a "root language" somehow connected to all those new languages.

Currently, I find Christians opposed to some unknown tongue are not among Christians going into difficult situations like ministering to the homeless, the drug addicts, etc. Yes, there are some well funder ministries like Smaritans Purse and CBN. Many, if not most individual Christians lack any power whatsoever, and are the first to go home. "I have this bladder problem so I need to leave." We always make sure there are porta potties around, and there's food, like hotdogs, "I just can't trust public toilets."
Zero faith. That's what I see decade by decade, lack of any faith to evangelize.
It was probably Hebrew.

Totally do not get people who believe only humans are going to be redeemed. Did they not learn from Noahs ark or was Noah just all by himself with no animlas for company on that boat. Do they believe that heaven is like a sterile version of star trek or something where no plants and animals exist.
According to the Bible it ought to be that all wildlife species will keep reproducing at least untii the end of Jesus' millennial reign. That might include some fearsome dinosaurs whose diet will change to vegetation instead of blood meat. They will be released from the original curse. So it is lions will eat hay and sleep with lambs.

Maybe, but so wouldn't all the new language-bearing folks have not had in common the Hebrew language? I figure God provided Hebrew to only one group present at the Tower of Babylon, the one tribe from which Abram arose.

It could be the root language. I dont know havent really studied too many langauges. But when speaking in tongues I notice Every so often i will say halluljah which means praise the Lord in Hebrew, just some words are universal.
English is an interesting language in that people can actually create new words from other langauges in it. Its not a fixed langauge its very polyglot, unlike French where the French disapprove of any words that arent french. They even have langauge police trying in vain to keep it pure.

Anyway, back to topic. How do we care for creation. Well if our attitidue is that people who speak in tongues unknown to us arent Gods creatures or creations too does that show we dont care for them? I think we ought to make an effort to understand and show love despite language barriers.

Im in the southern hemisphere lol.

Revelation shows us the birds are going to be feasting on the carcases of wicked men so, there is some justice after all! Rev 20:17-21
Vulchers and other carnivores, and omnivores have had that carninvorus nature ever since death arrived in God'as creation. They have feasted upon the wickied ever since, cleaning the battle fields of rotting carcasses of both the wicked and beloved of God who fought against evil.

Wasnt the flood kind of drastic why didnt God just smite the people and not have to redo the whole earth? I reckon its because mans wickedness had actually polluted the earth. The ground was cursed because of their actions.
All the more reason to concentrate on the Gospel over the environment.

Many farmers and orchardists die from diseases related to exposure to agrichemicals, cancers etc.
Other organic farmers, following the 'natural paths and biorhythms' but rejecting Jesus, perish eternally.

We give in secret when we give to others. We don't sound a trumpet like the hypocrite does.

Matthew 6:1-2
Pay attention in your charity giving, that you do it not in front of people so that you may be seen by them, otherwise there is no reward for you with your Father in Heaven.

2When therefore you do your charity giving, you should not blast a trumpet before you like the pretenders in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by the children of men; truly I say to you, they have received their reward.

You seem to have a narrow view of other Christians and come off biased.

Romans 12:3-8
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think of yourself with sober judgment, according to the measure of faith God has given you. 4Just as each of us has one body with many members, and not all members have the same function, 5so in Christ we who are many are one body, and each member belongs to one another.

6We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If one’s gift is prophecy, let him use it in proportion to his faith; 7if it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is giving, let him give generously; if it is leading, let him lead with diligence; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Almost all biblical caring for other creatures involves human to human. Some verses cover crop rotation or resting the land to rebuild soil. God alone has power to deal with world's mostly unseen wildlife and the weather. I believe God provided for the energy sources mankind uses, and manages that. I doubt He was caught off guard by the rising populations of people and increased needs of fuels. As long as we keep the biblical perspective I think that's our mandate towards the world. I don't g along with the absurd recent idea of most Americans living in tents and doing without lights and temperature control, required to go to bed at sunset. Extreme crime is another reason we need a closed home. I lived on the Pacific coast 800 feet from the ocean in a home that didn't have AC. All we needed was open windows and occasionally a box fan. That's the only place I ever found to live so healthily.

It pains me to see how many resources are used to care for pets (70 billion in the USA alone), while we have way too many who suffer malnutrition and/or homeless or in need of foster care. I doubt God is on our side for comfort while mankind, especially Christians, tolerate such problems and adopt abominations so easily. So it is the time approaches when unredeemed mankind will suffer burning heat, poisoned water and hundred pound hailstones along with many other horrific events.

Well the ten commandments talk about sabbath rest, not just for humans, but for animals (cattle) too.
And many laws in leviticus talk aboutthe care of animals.

Also the SPCA was founded by christians.

Do you keep Saturday Sabbath? If you do it started at 6pm Fri and goes to 6pm Sat., in which case your using the computer (lighting a fire) would be in violation of Judaism's Sabbath.

That probably started from my post. The subject is taking care of creation, with me looking for whatever the Bible indicates for that. Letting a parcel of land go fallow, skipping agriculture a year out of seven, was instituted by God in Lev 25:4-5. The Jews rotated fields, resting one-seventh of one's acreage a year, letting the others produce crops, then rest another field the next year. That way a farmer could stay in business, too. Although it was a Jewish law, modern agriculture practices that in several forms. Mega farmers don't do that much, relying on chemical fertilizers, non-organic methods. We consider land that was heavily used can be planted in a variety of beneficial cover-crop species like clover, lablab, black oat that while growing all season then allowed to die and rot will result in significantly improved soil. There are species that feed wildife as an added bonus. The practice also helps eliminate pests that attack a favored crop.

Allow me to correct your first sentence. Animals are not subject to sabbaths. Their essentials must be cared for, like water and food. People who are responsible for pets, cattle, flocks don't sin by providing required care on a Sabbath, but must be responsible not to abuse. If a cow sliped into a mud hole it was entirely OK to rescue it any day of the week.

I think issue of animal care, being seen to quite well, pales compared to the current world issue of climate change and global warming. Mankind will not be able to do enough to change that. Since it's been cyclical over tne millennia, by the time CO2 is reduced we might resume volcanic eruptions that tend to cool earth, needing the CO2 back to level it out. The USGS has been predicting some major events, like Yellowstone Park exploding to put the eastern US in great jeopardy.

God laid claim to planetary control, and is the only power to change anything significantly. Here's some interesting claims by the Lord:

Jeremiah 4:23-26 I looked on the earth, and lo, it was waste and void; and to the heavens, and they had no light. I looked on the mountains, and lo, they were quaking, and all the hills moved to and fro. I looked, and lo, there was no one at all, and all the birds of the air had fled. I looked, and lo, the fruitful land was a desert, and all its cities were laid in ruins before the LORD, before his fierce anger.

Hosea 4:3 Therefore the land mourns, and all who live in it languish; together with the wild animals and the birds of the air, even the fish of the sea are perishing.

Those seeming environmental disasters concern rebellion of Israel and their punishment by God. Man didn't cause that. God brought it on them, suddenly dismantling their land of plenty.

Because of world rebellion against God, we shall not have a comfortable world. No matter what we try, we won't change what builds up into the multiple disasters of the tribulation Be sure everyone you know is ready. Next, a powerful unfulfilled prophecy of that coming seven year long catastrophe.

Isaiah 24:1-6 (KJV)
1 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.
3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.
4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

No but by caring for creation we are saving souls because...its all connected.
I dont think christians realise that looking after the earth is actually connected with saving souls. Anyone who knows how to grow food and provide fresh water and NOT to pollute the land is providing the basis for abundant life.

We stop our polluting ways, turn from our wicked ways when we seek God. What christian is going to continue disregarding Gods creation when when what we do now has eternal significance?

The people that pollute the earth with their sinful ways will be removed and the christians will remain because we are the green trees planted by the living waters, our roots go deep. The ones who dont plant the right trees are going to be cut down.

Look at the american dutbowl people actually created that cos of their sinful ways they had no clue how to look after the land and so they starved and died. They were choking on dust...! The people living in cities with no clean air are dying because they are actually contirbuting to destorying creation. Does this mean we go along with them and pollute our earth too? No way! It all starts with you. Turn from your wicked ways. Cos plagues are are destined for you if you dont come out of her...

All this consumption and trade and consumerism is hurting the earth. You dont need it. God will provide and hes going to bring heaven to earth. We just need to cooperate with Him.
I totally agree with this comment. I believe we are all connected. I believe we are mandated by God to care for all of creation (Genesis 1:26)
For many people, we Christians are the only Bible they read (I found that idea somewhere- it isn't mine) When they see Christians sincerely caring for all of God's gifts we are setting an example. It is kind of like living rent free in someone's house, it doesn't belong to me, and I want to take care of it and leave it in just as good or even better condition than when I moved in.

Helping care for an animal on the sabbath was what Jesus did.
The animals that worked for people, like cattle who ploughed the fields and carried loads, were meant to have a rest and day off just like people.

Thats what God put in the commandment, i aint arguing with God!

Have a real good look at verse 5 in isaiah you quoted who actually defiles the earth? Its the inhabitants..God doesnt defile the earth! When man makes a mess, God cleans it up..and Hes going to clean it up by sending the fire.

Dustbowl in america was entirely man made because of bad and greedy farming practices. Sure God stopped the rain and the wind blew, but it was man who ruined the soil on the prariries by ploghing it relentlessly so they became dust.

Where does it say that God is going to clean up this present earth/world?

Isaiah 24
18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.

20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

Revelations 21
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
