Not even going to argue....that is not the point I made nor did I say that......
I have no idea what you were trying to say then.

I will just continue to disagree.

It was not prophesy, it was parable He was figuratively trying to show us why he does not take us to heaven immediately, and instead leaves us with all the tares. Ending with the fact we will be separated in his time not ours.

He was explaining a spiritual truth, not giving us prophesy of a future event

The problem with dispensationalism is the supposed gap between the 69th and 70th week of Daniel:

(Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.)

We know from Hebrews that Jesus entered into the most holy place with his own blood:

(Heb 9:12 and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.)

There is no gap.
No problem at all

If you look at the end of the 69th week, when messiah is cut off.

You have a period of time inserted which is unknown in length

1. The city and sanctuary will be destroyed
2. They will be left desolate through many wars and kingdoms
3. At some time, a future prince will confirm a covenant for 1 week (7 years)
4. In the middle of that 7 year period, he will place an abomination of desolation in the most holy place. Which will put to an end sacrifice and burnt offering (the sinful jews can not sacrifice in an unclean holy place)
At the end of this time, the 70 weeks will be completed.

There is a 4 decade gap between the 69th week and the destruction of the city so even preterists/amills have. Gap inserted they can not explain away.

But required for the system to work.... a bit of a quandary?
Quandery? You have a gap in your belief, you just do not see it.

There is no quandery in my belief, Non at all..

@eternally-gratefull wondering if this is part of your eschatology?

curious by nature
My eschatology says there are events spoken of in prophesy which have not taken place yet

It is not for me to question who or why. Just take God at his word. Knowing that some, maybe many things, we will not know exactly what it will be until it happens. But still. That does not mean I should question if it will happen at all.

Do you have evidence to support this assertion?

Do you know a orthodox preterist who became a futurist and consequently received hate mail and email, vilified and was publicly slandered behind various pulpits across the land?
Do I have evidence?

Can you tell me what happened to a heretic during the rule of the roman church?

If your trying to use this to help support your belief system, It will not work.. No one will be swayed because some dude received hate mail or was vilified or publicly slandered.

Never said it was prophecy either....but it does in fact accurately describe a future event......that is literal..........so not real sure what your beef is....

What is God's word on this ...surely you can be more forthright then this?

Will the millennium involve new temple sacrifice?
What does the scripture tell you?

Got Questions seems pretty sure.......
Answer: There are several passages in the Old Testament that clearly indicate animal sacrifice will be re-instituted during the millennial kingdom. Some passages mention it in passing as the topic of the millennial kingdom is discussed, passages like Isaiah 56:6-8; Zechariah 14:16; and Jeremiah 33:15-18.

You are so funny Mr. E. G...and I mean that in a good way, apparently having fun in a discussion according to some is a problem!!

Pretty simple God does not contradict himself does He.....seems to me the letter to the Hebrews is pretty clear as was cited earlier.

@eternally-gratefull ....... it seems to me that a lot of the futurist view from what I have been reading really rests upon this time gap in Daniel between the 69th and 70th week so I am going to go back to your post and see why and where you may be
(treading ever so lightly here :)
) wrong.

Interpret prophesy as it should be interpreted (literal)

Interpret metaphor or parable or symbolic the way it should be interpreted.

But before we move on are you telling me that prophecy does not have a spiritual fulfillment as well as a temporal?

Literal is not really a good word to use I don't think it muddies the waters...since there are two spheres spiritual and temporal.

Oh and Mr. @eternally-gratefull it would seem that that other some dude (as you so like to refer to people) Mr. Pentecost does support the re-institution of the sacrificial system just in case you were not aware.

Recommended Resource: Thy Kingdom Come by J. Dwight Pentecost

I haven't heard any answers to what is going on in Ezekiel chapters 40 through 48 especially 43 and 45. It's all there...Courts, Temple, Priests, Sacrifice, Feasts, Altar all in the future. Can you enlighten us?

2 Corinthians 6:16...
So now we are back to spiritualizing the text?
We are given 9 chapters of detailed descriptions and you answer it in one verse completely out of context?

Not actually

You wanted proof about a premill person being targeted or suffering tribulation for his belief.

But again it does nto matter. Many people from all faiths suffer tribulation. It does not prove they are right. All belief systems have their fanatics. Yes even mine.

Not related

Was their a temple in the time David spent in Babylon? Was their a temple throughout alot of Israels history? Even when their was. Did sacrifice ever take away sin? You see here is where the rubber meats the road. IF sacrifice EVER took away sin, then you would have an argument, but it has never (the author of hebrews makes that clear)

Paul said those things were symbols. Signs, used to point people to christ.

Now. Who are we to argue if God does not do the same thing in the OT, as a symbol to teach the world what Jesus had to do? And mor eimportanlty. To show the world how deeply sinful we are and what had to be done to take the place of that sin.

The OT says plainly Jesus will rule in his fathers house (the temple) who are we to argue how he does it.

I mean think, Is God going to restore sacrifice in the new heaven and earth? Now their is a hard one to swallow. Since there will be NO DEATH in heaven, How can an animals life be shed?
