I think you have seen the videos sis. Are you going to answer or not?

And you do not understand the baptism of the spirit. So I would probably suggest you stop thinking others do not.

So he probably did throw the baby to the ground. When did God ever do this sis?

So you honestly want to sit here and tell me you believe that was from God? When did God or any apostle do this in scripture?

Are you so desperate to defend anyone who agrees with you that you would stoop this low to say this is from God?

I know I'm born of Spirit
Ok...I am going to be honest her...
Please don`t come hard at me , I have no real understanding of what tongues mean yet , but I pray the Holy Spirit will teach me as He does daily...

This is what I thought tongues was from what I have read when I come across it in the bible...

Tongues were given to the Apostles so they could go out and preach the Word of God in all languages , to those in foreign countries that they travelled to that had not heard the good news...
Am I anyway near right , or on the right track :D...xox...

You are just repeating what others have said Rosemary. I was in the thread there too. Look at the scripture for the truth. Religion is not reality. Relationship...which you have when you spend time with Him as you do. He leads one into all truth.

Church orthodoxy has everybody getting water baptized not scripture. You espouse a false doctrine that forces the Holy Spirit to act in a capricious fashion. You do not seek the Holy Spirit to lead. You seek to make the Holy Spirit do what you want. You want tongues even though they have ended.

what a load of what cattle do in the field

whether one thinks we should baptize in Jesus name only, or otherwise, it is an ordinance Jesus commanded

and again with the personal insults. you are such a class act

what the church or you do with it, is not the example to follow. I sourced 'got questions' because they are a cessationist site so you should have no problem with their comments

Question: "What is the importance of Christian baptism?"

Answer:
Christian baptism is one of two ordinances that Jesus instituted for the church. Just before His ascension, Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19–20). These instructions specify that the church is responsible to teach Jesus’ word, make disciples, and baptize those disciples. These things are to be done everywhere (“all nations”) until “the very end of the age.” So, if for no other reason, baptism has importance because Jesus commanded it.

Baptism was practiced before the founding of the church. The Jews of ancient times would baptize proselytes to signify the converts’ “cleansed” nature. John the Baptist used baptism to prepare the way of the Lord, requiring everyone, not just Gentiles, to be baptized because everyone needs repentance. However, John’s baptism, signifying repentance, is not the same as Christian baptism, as seen in Acts 18:24–26 and 19:1–7. Christian baptism has a deeper significance.

Baptism is to be done in the name of the Father, Son, and Spirit—this is what makes it “Christian” baptism. It is through this ordinance that a person is admitted into the fellowship of the church. When we are saved, we are “baptized” by the Spirit into the Body of Christ, which is the church. First Corinthians 12:13 says, “We were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” Baptism by water is a “reenactment” of the baptism by the Spirit.

Christian baptism is the means by which a person makes a public profession of faith and discipleship. In the waters of baptism, a person says, wordlessly, “I confess faith in Christ; Jesus has cleansed my soul from sin, and I now have a new life of sanctification.”

Christian baptism illustrates, in dramatic style, the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. At the same time, it also illustrates our death to sin and new life in Christ. As the sinner confesses the Lord Jesus, he dies to sin (Romans 6:11) and is raised to a brand-new life (Colossians 2:12). Being submerged in the water represents death to sin, and emerging from the water represents the cleansed, holy life that follows salvation. Romans 6:4 puts it this way: “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

Very simply, baptism is an outward testimony of the inward change in a believer’s life. Christian baptism is an act of obedience to the Lord after salvation; although baptism is closely associated with salvation, it is not a requirement to be saved. The Bible shows in many places that the order of events is 1) a person believes in the Lord Jesus and 2) he is baptized. This sequence is seen in Acts 2:41, “Those who accepted [Peter’s] message were baptized” (see also Acts 16:14–15).

A new believer in Jesus Christ should desire to be baptized as soon as possible. In Acts 8 Philip speaks “the good news about Jesus” to the Ethiopian eunuch, and, “as they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, ‘Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?’” (verses 35–36). Right away, they stopped the chariot, and Philip baptized the man.

Baptism illustrates a believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Everywhere the gospel is preached and people are drawn to faith in Christ, they are to be baptized.

Once again,

Do you believe water salvation is a means to salvation, Yes or no?

Is it that scary to tell us what you believe?
Gods Word is what is important:

And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Luke 1:76-77

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Mark 1:4

And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; Luke 3:3

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 24:47

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matt 26:28

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

I'm reminded of a time when we went out door to door to witness to the lost. When we got to a door and asked the persons inside if they were saved some would say I'm catholic. They did not say yes I'm saved but they went right to the main reason they considered themselves in right relationship to God.

I see a terrifying similarity to what we have with todays Pentecostals. I speak in tongues so I must be saved. I speak in tongues because I'm baptized in the Holy Spirit. I have yet to see where they just simply give a testimony of having trusted Christ to save them from their sins. Reasons galore but none that point to Christ as Savior.

Eventually the catholic church began to teach their people to answer our questions to inoculate them for the truth.

I still say the most absurd idea I have seen with Pentecostals is the idea that they pray in tongues. Always seeking tangible proof of that which is received by grace through faith.

you have testified many times that you think the Biblical record is like the dead sea and the Philistines have won

you do not believe it

Pharaoh had a problem with God too. and God kept hardening his heart. until the end. only then it was too late

Do you ever draw a line between figurative and literal interpretation of Gods word? Water baptism is for obedience not for salvation and not for the receipt of the Holy Spirit.

Salvation is by grace through faith. Is water baptism faith, grace or works? I am in favor of water baptism for saved persons. I have not seen many here who were biblically instructed on water baptism. The worst ones make water baptism essential and the source of Holy Spirit baptism.

Next you will tell me that if one does not receive communion per 1 Cor 11:23-34 they are not saved and cannot have the Holy Spirit.

A question for those who believe that baptism is necessary for salvation, that the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues comes after salvation.

In Acts 10 we have the record of Peter going to Cornelius house and preaching the Gospel.
As Peter was preaching, the Holy Spirit fell on the congregation and they began to speak in tongues.
Peter than baptized them.
What happened? How is it they were baptized of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues BEFORE they were saved by water baptism?
Come on folks, surely some of you have an answer.

not going to cross it either. only God can cross that line if He chooses to do so

salvation is by the blood of the Lamb...

since I never have stated baptism is anything other than ordained by God, what are you trying to say?

Salvation is by blood sacrifice on the mercy seat before Father. It's obtained by grace through faith in that sacrifice.

many actually do Rosemary

many actually do

however, do you think people are healing or is it God?

you know, walking in the Spirit does not mean we use God. He, uses us

there are all kinds of missionaries in war torn countries...some are captured and killed..Christians are persecuted

we support an organization that smuggles Bibles into countries where they are forbidden

and many other examples of how Christians do what the Bible says to do

maybe do some research instead of flinging stones at what you apparently know little about
Hey 7...
I know there are thousands upon thousands that go out to places all over the world spreading the good news , that was not my point...
I am talking about the faith healers , you know the ones that have such a bad rep who like to show off for the cameras , these I am talking about ...

I am not flinging stones , I am speaking as I find from seeing with my own eyes ...
Once again , I am NOT talking about the missionaries that are truly led by the Holy Spirit of God to go out and do God's work , I am talking about these clowns who are claiming to be walking in the Holy Spirit when they are in fact doing harm...

And I think you are kind of assuming I know nothing about the field work that is done in the LORDS name , you are wrong , just because I stated I do not know much about tongues , does not make me foolish to other things...xox...

So sorry but your desires have take you into the weeds. Zeal is no replacement for fidelity. You only wish you could pronounce condemnation upon me. I come only to call you to repentance not to condemnation.

Paul said if not I have when he spoke of praying in tongues. Even here if we follow your illogical line of reasoning there is still no evidence that praying in a tongue you do not understand. Paul clearly says he will pray with understanding.1 Cor 14:15

Apparently, you aren't reading all the posts. It's been said in many threads that the baptism of Holy Spirit can before water baptism, with water baptism, or not affiliated with water baptism at all.

So that tells me what he believes?

I can post the same scripture and say that is what I believe, (And I believe everyone one of the scripture he posts) yet we believe different thangs, how does that help?

One things is for sure. I am not afraid to tell you or anyone else what I believe. If you ask me yes or no. I will not beat around the bush and try to hide

Let me ask you. Do you believe one must be baptized in water to be saved? Or are you afraid to say it too?

What about water baptism, Where does that come it, is it where we receive remission of sin? hence where we are initially saved?
