God sent his son to save us from himself, and it seems to me that only an elect few are shown God's true power thus leading to salvation. My question is:
1. is this true?
2. Why does god only pick certain people?
3. Can man choose God on his own or must God plant the seed first?

the title of thread doesn’t quite match your questions, let’s start with the title do you feel that God hates you?

Hello Carlos, and welcome to CC!

Your opening statement is not consistent with biblical Christianity. So, the answer to question 1 is No, and as question 2 is dependent on the answer to 1 being Yes, there is no relevance to the question.

For question 3, the answer is "No and yes". The Bible tells us that there is none righteous, none who seek God of their own will. We all reject God and go our own way. God wants us to turn to Him in faith and trust, because as our Creator, He knows that is best for us.

We all have sinned and made ourselves odious to God. However, He loves us anyway, and He came in the person of Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sin. By faith we accept Jesus' sacrifice in our place and become God's children.

Total depravity and limited atonement are concepts that are tricky for Christians to handle.

No, salvation are for all who believe. There is no elect or special few chosen. The Bible says "whosoever will" and whoever calls on His name will be saved. God doesn't pick certain people, the invitation is open to all.

I read a review about a book on amazing coincidences. One was about a man in Australia who has been struck by lightning seven
times in his life! Makes you think. God may like certain people. Someone like Geraldine Sprogget of 22 Acacia Avenue for instance
Sorry its one of those mornings.

Seriously though God loves everyone its sin he hates.

They say it was because he was exposed to more storms than the average person but that doesn’t quite fit, many people work outside being a ranger doesn’t seem extreme.

What’s your take on Matt 7:22/23

There are people who claim to be followers of Christ and use his name. They also perform miracles but Christ looks at their hearts. He knows who are his.

1. No
2. God chooses those who have believed on His Son, not to be in His Son
3. He draws all men unto Himself, man then chooses to believe or not
