haha thanks for the chuckle to funny, lol

I never really have got into hunting, some of my friends are into it it’s all good I have no view on that but maybe one just don’t kill animals for their horns or something like that,

but even though I like animals I will not blink an eye to to take out a dog running after me. I like the bow hunting concept kind of evens the field man vs beast thing lol, it’s not that easy to shoot a deer with a bow.

I live in a city in sort of a bad section, gun shots almost every night, I’ve been thinking about getting another hand gun for the house or to carry but I haven’t decided yet I don’t know.

If you ever do I suggest a revolver, police special.38 colt or s&w model 10 ect. Rock Island Amory M206 or something similar) . Why is if it's for protection there is no safety(revolves instead) and so if in a split second you needed it most people could not take it off safety, pull the receiver back and put a round in the chamber fast enough to defend themselves with an automatic. There are exceptions to that though military vets, police ect. would go through the motions without getting rattled at all(training), Make sure it has a smooth action and tight(no worn parts), have a gunsmith look at it if it's a police special .38 revolver every older gunsmith fixed them for the police, security guards,FBI ect. by the millions. Remember in a real assault it will rattle you, you'll get tunnel vision, your heart will be pounding and so a revolver is point and squeeze.

I don't believe in shooting any animal I don't need for food(freezer),I take no joy out of killing one and the only deer horns I ever kept were ones I made rattle bones from(deer call) all of the others I buried with the deer in respect. It is an offal lot of work to get up go hunt, kill an animal, field gut it,load it in a truck, bring it home skin it,quarter it pack it in coolers, take a quarter at a time and cut it up and package it,,,lol. I cant imagine how some see it as a lot of fun I see it as a lot of work but like I said I did fill my freezer many times and felt bad because I killed something so I always tried to only eat. No disrespect to any who see this different just how I see it.

I have hunted with a bow( I have a Osage long bow and bear compound) I don't like it as well as I thought I would. The reason why is a gun has enough inertia force when it hits the animal to knock them down a bow don't. The best shot imo is a lung shot because when they take a breath after a lung shot the same thing happens to them as to a person when thy get the air knocked out of them(two steps and they fall). The heart to me is ok also but they'll run farther sometimes.

With a compound bow I have seen the arrow(broad-head) go all the way through a deer and stick in the ground on the other side. The deer jumped and looked around like "what touched me" and then hopped off as though nothing happened(no inertia) but still it bled out you just need to understand how to track it through the woods. First just let it walk off(don't chase it,drink a coke eat a sandwich)...

After about 30/45 minutes go to where you shot it and look for evidence like your a detective. A deer is darker on his back and fades to tan and his belly and legs are white. If you find dark brown hair(hit him high) brown hair(midsection) white hair(gut shot or leg) the blood if leg shot is bright red and thin,,,Liver is dark red and thick. If it looks as though it has bubbles in it you hit a lung ect.ect.

If you use a long bow the arrow wont go all the way through the deer and when he goes through the bushes the bushes grab the arrow and move it around and cause more damage. The direction you saw him go is the place to start tracking him so go there and look for blood spots on the leaves of the bushes and the ground(don't loose them), If there are two of you one stands at the spot you found and the other looks for the next spot of blood and then the one guarding it moves up to the next spot and then you go spot by spot.

If the deer bleeds out soon you wont have to go far but if you get to close to him and he hasn't bled out and you jump him up he wont stop running again until he dies. If you are tracking him and you see a spot of blood and look at how far apart the spots are you'll know how fast he's bleeding. If you see a spot that is a large puddle he stopped and you might be fixing to jump him up and make him run so stop for a while he may have not known you were coming and just stopped because he was dizzy(bleeding out).

lol,Now one day they might take our gun rights away and so I don't want to sound like I am against bow hunting but it is a lot more difficult to do and actually find the deer that was shot so a rifle is the way to go in my opinion but if you do decide to bow hunt find someone who has done it because it like playing lead guitar it's harder to do than with a gun not easier and probably half if not more of all deer shot with an arrow are never found.

I saved this till last,,if you are by yourself tracking a wounded animal I use toilet paper and hang it on the spot of blood/evidence(marks the last evidence). But if you are with another person with a gun or bow and are tracking a wounded animal decide who is the best shot, agree that they are the only one who is going to shoot if you jump up the wounded animal and the other person needs to be the one marking the blood while the shooter is in front. Tracking a wounded animal it is very easy to jump him up and if both(or more) people swing around to shoot it you'll be in each others cross fire(think it through)...

Its actually the opposite.

In places where there is the most gun control, meaning law-abiding citizens aren't allowed to have or carry guns, there is the most violent crime.

In places where law-abiding citizens are allowed to have and carry their guns violent crime is much lower.

I continue to scratch my head wondering why this isn't ABUNDANTLY obvious to everyone. Even those who don't live here.
Is it...not where I live. Guns are used for hunting in wild animals in the forest not shooting people in my country.
I think america must just be different why they all think they need guns for defense is kinda weird.

The person who shot all those people at the mosque in my country got his stupid idea from vuolent movies from america. He tried to post his shooting on facebook. Its apalling.
There are too many shootem up violent movies and video games all coming from america.

Werent several president of the united states shot? Like JFK. And also martin luther king jr. oh and selena the singer...america has a bad reputation for killing their own leaders. I mean who does that, is it easier to shoot people than to crucify them I suppose.

The Word of God is the Word of God...

The thinking of men is the thinking of men...

The only consideration is,,, What ever be the will of God, that is what should be believed..

Salt of the Earth

I have some friends who are very fine Christian people.
They are the salt of the earth.
They are people like those mentioned in Hebrews 11:38, "of whom the world is not worthy."
I feel thankful and humbled just to share the same planet with them.

And yet, sometimes if I ask these people to consider something NEW, something they haven't considered before ( perhaps a different way to think of a verse or a topic) they can't even consider it for analysis... they just have a sort of "reaction" to it, and dismiss it out of hand.

It's a very strange phenomena, but very common.

New ideas, and different ideas, no matter how reasonable or biblical they "might" be, aren't even considered for assessment.
They are alien, and uncomfortable, so they have to be ignored and dismissed... not analyzed or discussed.

I'm certain I'm not right about all of my views.
Despite our best efforts, none of us are going to be perfect.
All of us are going to make mistakes, and probably get some things wrong.
But I do try to make some effort in giving careful explanations, in careful ways, with carefully considered points.
I really do try to think things through in careful and detailed ways, and then explain them in careful and detailed ways.
I'm sure I get some things wrong, but I really do try to go over things thoroughly and carefully.

So it always feels strange, and shocking, to lay out a very careful and meticulous case for some point of view, and have others simply dismiss it out of hand. They simply dismiss it, without ever considering the points, the logic, or the arguments. They never address any of the points I make.

I expect that from the lost world.
But it always surprises me when it comes from Christians.

Maybe it's my own fault; maybe it shouldn't surprise me.
Maybe all of us are just uncomfortable with different ideas, or views that challenge us.
Maybe this is just how we all are.

Maybe even the very finest people react in these ways... because it's just how we are.

Do you carry other weapons.

I dont carry anything.

Jesus said he could just call on legions of angels whenever. He sends us as sheep amongst wolves. But the sheep dont go round in wolves clothing....its the wolves who go round in. Sheeps clothing.
You are way off base with your post. The wolves are false prophets, the sheeps clothing are wollen garments, normally worn by prophets. You have a lot of bible study to do.....

Glass Houses

In your country you don't even have the freedom to view the video, or read the shooter's manifesto, without getting a 10 year prison sentence. You have no idea what the shooter was actually thinking... because you go to prison if you try to read his words and find out.

The rest of the world knows more about your country than you do, because your own news is so heavily censored.
YOU actually go to PRISON if you try to read anything you're not supposed to read.

Perhaps, since your own news is censored so heavily that you don't even know what's going on IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY... maybe you should rethink how much you really know about a country on the other side of the planet.

Just a thought.

All countries have problems; if you live in a glass house, please don't come on here throwing bricks...

no one likes being hit with a brick, and your own house is going to end up shattered.

What I got from this is - Americans are paranoid. Their country is not safe, and they hate each other. Thats why they carry guns.
There are untold thousands of good and honest grannies in America who maintain firearms for self protection. All for very very good reasons. I urge all grannies to protect themselves in like manner if they so choose.

I believe it foolish to not listen to other believers as they offer a different understanding of Scripture.
It should at least cause us to re-examine what we believe so as to enforce or change what we believe.
BUT, that would take some study and most will not.
Now if I have heard this before and have decided through study it was incorrect, I will usually dismiss it and move on.
The sad truth is that many if not most only believe what they have been taught not what they have learned through prayer and proper study.
So, if your status in their eyes is not that of the one who taught them, You will , at best, be ignored and
often even be condemned .

After a while we can know who will listen and who will not.
Use your time wisely.

hey thanks for the info my friend, you said a lot useful information thanks again I’ll use the info you supplied me well.

In my opinion I don’t think there are many deer hunters shooting for horns only, maybe some rouge ones but the animals that are killed like elephants and rhinos for the ivory horns really ticks me off, there’s no sense in killing animals for ivory to make little figurines is plain ignorant.

I prefer a 38 revolver when I am away from home. Simple, not to heavy, and deadly.
If I need more that six shots, I am in more danger than I can escape.

For myself, I will not use a gun in self-defense. I would much rather suffer hurt to myself than kill someone else (and if they are an unbeliever send them to hell). I will choose to love my enemies and return good for evil. (My opinion)
And if your wife or daughter is being raped and throat cut in the next 30 seconds if you don't pull the trigger......the wicked go astray from the womb and I would have no problem sending them to the nether world....

Not surprised dcon was the first to answer this one hahahha.

My answer is: Yes they can.

I dont believe in pacifism. People take the sermon on the mount and run with it, which is great. But you're not a man in my books if you dont defend those who need defending at that time.

In my country nobody wants to mess with the gypsies though, even our women will beat you up :D We are safe. Who wants beef?

PS: I dont own any guns, nor do I plan on owning any. Its not common where I live. We arent like America, but still top #4 (or 3?) in the world in ownership.
I still think people should be allowed to, if they so please.

I just noticed the preacher is Steven Slanderson, quite a character. I enjoy some of his sermons and have listened to quite a few, but I disagree with him on well everything... He is part of that new independent fundamental baptist KJV-only group. He is that movement's pope basically. Too focused on ho**se*uality that guy, every sermon he just cant help but bring it up. Oy vey!
Not nagging on him! Just telling you to stay alert while listening, he does have many good sermons though!
As a Marine, and a BELIEVER.....I have no problem using force to defend myself or any other person being accosted by a criminal........lethally if need be.......!!

I agree.....I have whacked over 100 deer in three states with bow, cross bow, muzzle loader, shotgun with slugs, 25-06, 30-06, Mini-14 and everyone was eaten and or given to poor families that needed food............I even took two and processed them for an Indian lady that would not eat beef for fear of eating a REINCARNATED relative............I never really cared about the rack, and would just as soon smoke a nice doe for the freezer

I guess there's a different hunters with different Ideas about it. I'll probably never be able to go anymore but I tried joining a lease and using a stand a few years when I was younger but didn't care for it. I liked going to Upland Island wilderness(and others) and back then no gps so a topo map and compass. They say the gps's now days will pick up a signal there but no phones will.

I would back pack(no wheels allowed in wilderness) and follow the creeks(Grahm,Big ect.) into it. The creeks wind back and forth but water runs down so south from that location (the leaves and stuff are floating down stream/hill). The creeks are real deep 50 foot wide and sometimes that deep but if you walk them then as the terrain changes you get to places where they are low enough and narrow enough for deer, hogs ect to cross and you'll see their tracks everywhere(they cant cross if it's too deep or wide, lol).

The mountain lions, alligators ect. do that for a living and so if you ever do that look up in the tree limbs and for eyes in the creeks and in the spring the gators nesting their real protective. An alligator can move fast enough to spring up out of the creek and grab a deer but run out of breath in about 50 foot. If theres a tree down you can jump it in a run but a gator has to stop to go over it but most time wont bother, lol I'm too old to go anymore so I may as well tell where they are.
