A needy presence, unknown to my awareness. I kept seeking approval of man. I think we all want love and acceptance but that has to come from Him, first and foremost. I think coming from a position of wound instead of whole, leaves one competing and comparing, yearning to be healed from the pricks of shame, paralyzed in damage. So much love and kindness bestowed, but still all pangs of rejection, some real and some just perceived, ring louder.

We all have areas of predatorial weaknesses, areas that haunt our spirit, seeking to take from us that which He has healed and forgiven. However, if we are unwilling to accept His forgiveness, to be fully restored by His touch of Grace, then we still operate from an intense and loud ego of desperation that calls others to fill in the gaps that are NOT theirs to fix.

Soooo...to Him we go, fully accepting our broken state, not looking to blame or accuse anyone but self; then, accept His victory that is bigger than our injured and guilty selves. Encouragement and strength He gives, but we must renew our thoughts, emotions and actions in Him. Consistency is challenging, for sure, but His is constant so it is in Him ONLY, we have hope.

In closing, I am going to quote Charles Spurgeon again.

I have learned to kiss the waves that throw me against the Rock of Ages...♡
