I think then we both would be right. Because....the seed of the Word in greek is sperma which is part of the reproduction process; producing the new creation spiritual man/woman. A gift, unearned.By grace through faith. Producing love...the fruit.
Amen. Faith works by love. (oh by the way, faith is a fruit also)
It does not work properly where love is absent. Because he who does not love does not know God.
Faith without love is faith without works, and it is dead Faith without love is dead and fruitless.
That is pretty much the gist of what James said in James 2, isnt it? And it is in perfect agreement with Paul.

AmenOx before the cart.....
FAITH comes before LOVE.......
It is not that we loved HIM, but that he loved us and gave himself for us
NO ONE loves GOD and or HAS the love of GOD perfected in them UNLESS they have been born again BY FAITH which IS a GIFT....YOU are conflating two separate ideas and applications.......
FAITH 1st
HOPE 2nd
LOVE 3rd
ONE cannot have #s 2 and 3 without 1........
Is there two kinds of faith? Because scripture also says there is the gift of faith.
As far as works, I am not of the thought that the works are good deeds. Works of Holy Spirit that Jesus said we would do.
And James? Not a fan.
Amen
And faith is not a fruit. Faith motivates us to go out and produce fruit. Gods love is the power

Faith precedes love, but love does not lag far behind faith. If it does, there is a key ingredient missing in that faith. For faith works by love.
Galatians 5:6- For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
I agree with the comment below on Galatians 5:6
JFB commentary- Love is not joined with faith in justifying, but is the principle of the works which follow after justification by faith.
Faith produces love and love produces good works
No cart before horse, except in your own head, Maestro
No, actually there is and you just had to take it one step further and mouth hey.....
Two things, yea three....
a. FAITH comes before LOVE and NO ONE loves without being saved FIRST
b. Commentaries = zero to me
c. Do not address me if a. You cannot be honest, b. You cannot keep from making mouthy comments because you got nailed in a contradiction
Never said love comes before faith. You are the one who is being dishonest. I said Faith works by love.
You are so desperate to win points in your "debate" that you are willing to make things up and misrepresent people.
and you disagree with the quote "Love is not joined with faith in justifying, but is the principle of the works which follow after justification by faith. "

Faith produces justification
Justification produces love.
Love produces genuine good works (1 Cor. 13)
Boom!
Get some honesty and take your medicine dude or like I said do not address me....YOU SAID the following..and the following states clearly by implication that FAITH and LOVE are BOTH required to be saved....and that is false....LOVE is a process of GROWTH as evidenced by the word PERFECTED......AND JAMES does not say that.....
Macabeus said:

Faith without love is faith without works, and it is dead Faith without love is dead and fruitless.
2 verses in context which states that Justification PRODUCES LOVE
Faith is both a gift and a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22
But in the fruit passage, it can be interpreted either "faith" or "faithfulness"
I'm sorry to hear you say that about James. It is inspired scripture.
Nowhere in there does it say love comes before faith. Go read James and come back
Justifying faith- love- good works. In that order. How can you disagree with this?
One is enough. Luke 7: 47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
The first clause seems to be descriptive due to the second clause. so therefore, Jesus is describing a person who loves much as one who has been forgiven much
Happy easter. I'm done for today. Going to enjoy the Lord's day. Hope you do too.
