ummm...while I don't blame anyone just starting to post for not reading this entire thread, you seem to have missed the fact that the entire thing is written to deny tongues are for today and to state they are all demonic

maybe you should at least read the op and some scattered posts of your choosing cause you do not understand what is going on here

it is. but I mean that was a Catholic country and that church, while a beautiful example of French Gothic architecture, was not the seat of Christianity and I am sorry that it has been partially destroyed

Catholicism is about superstition as much as anything else

I've had Catholic friends and even relatives who converted to Christianity...or Protestant beliefs as some say...and that religion really has a nasty hold on people. they need to be set free from the things they were taught

YOU GO BACK AND READ AGAIN! VCO validated the gift of tongues, but he has also rightly pointed out a current trend towards its misuse! And I can certainly attest that every time I've been a witness it has been nothing but meaningless purposeless babble. The Christian church has been under attack since Christ's crucifixion, do you deny that the false misuse of tongues could be an effective tool to that end?

This thread ought to be titled a non-charismatic misunderstanding of tongues.

Cos clearly they dont understand it. Its not even for them to understand...its for God to understand because God knows all tongues. He invented them.

Right in the beginning of creation, the very first thing God did, was SPEAK.
Every time He created something, He spoke it into existence first.

Our God is not silent and neither are we who believe in Him. Why is Jesus called the Word? Because He spoke what God wanted Him to say. And guess what a lot of it was NOT actually in the mother tongue of the Israelites, Hebrew. It was in Greek.

It was a way to show that God reaches out not just to the Israelites but to the gentiles who spoke another language that was foreign to them!

Am really over the monolingual people who dismiss Gods diversity of tongues. If Tongues really had ceased, nobody would be speaking a word praising God today. NOBODY.

The Purpose for TONGUES was to VALIDATE to unbelieving JEWS that the New Testament was as MUCH GOD'S WORD as the Old Testament.

20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.

You will find in my Study I focused on the TRUE TONGUES, and how to identify the Counterfeit tongues.

I distinguish the two this way.

TONGUES spelled this way = TRUE TONGUES.

While tongues spelled this way = Counterfeit tongues.

You seem to Disavow that there is any such thing as Counterfeit tongues, and just ASSUME ALL EXAMPLES OF IT, IS THE REAL MCCOY, WHEN IT IS NOT. I would say you do not even know how you can identify the Counterfeit. You would do well if you do your own study, paying close attention to how you can identify the COUNTERFEIT. I did do the Study for six months, read everything I could, and listened to audio tapes, etc. I did not put the pen to the paper, until I had completed the six months of study.

go study what Paul wrote...when you make sense instead of arguing and accusing maybe someone who understands the gifts might respond

Couple of points here. I know you probably didn't mean it this way, but the Bible is NOT the problem. How we discern it is. EVERYONE, myself included, thinks how they interpret Scripture and apply doctrine is THE right way, or they wouldn't believe what they do. But NO ONE has everything exactly right since we see things through a glass darkly.

Sometimes, like the predestination vs freewill issue for instance, it is simply a matter of some passages need to viewed from God's perspective, and separately from man's perspective.

Yes their is a Charismatic movement in Catholicism, so do Mormons speak in tongues, so do New Age so-called Christianity, so do Hindus, ETC., ETC. And almost NO charismatics even know how to identify the Counterfeit tongues. They only ASSUME the tongues they USE, is the real McCoy.
