are we supposed to be hungry or thirsty?

whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst;
but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
(John 4:14)
he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst.
(John 6:35)

if any man thirst, let him come unto Me, and drink!
(John 7:37)

When I start to feel a little distant from God,, I will pray for a hunger and a thirst for the word.

You shouldn't be hungry or thirsty if you received the holy spirit Skeley.

The above quotes are speaking directly in figurative language from Genesis and Revelation in regards to the tree of life and the water of life.

(Mat 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.)

Once you have received Christ's righteous you have been satisfied.

Must be a pentecostal/charismatic believer. Or perhaps this is God, pretending to be a member of CC?

Good question!

Daily bread.

The woman at the well was asked to get Jesus a drink.

The last supper had eating and drinking.

I cannot take a definitive explanation for this topic yet....Not revealed to me, at least not yet.

Truths that so many believers, sadly, do not believe.

It brings to mind this quote from Major Ian Thomas, in his introduction to 'Classic Christianity' by Bob George:

"There are few things quite so boring as being religious, but there is nothing quite so exciting as being a Christian!
Most folks have never discovered the difference between the one and the other, so that there are those who sincerely try to live a life they do not have, substituting religion for God, Christianity for Christ, and their own noble endeavors for the energy, joy, and power of the Holy Spirit. In the absence of reality, they can only grasp at ritual, stubbornly defending the latter in the absence of the former, lest they be found with neither!
They are lamps without oil, cars without gas, and pens without ink, baffled at their own impotence in the absence of all that alone can make man functional; for man was so engineered by God that the presence of the Creator within the creature is indispensable to His humanity. Christ gave Himself for us to give Himself to us! His presence puts God back into the man! He came that we might have life--God's life!
There are those who have a life they never live. They have come to Christ and thanked Him only for what He did, but do not live in the power of who He is. Between the Jesus who "was" and the Jesus who "will be" they live in a spiritual vacuum, trying with no little zeal to live for Christ a life that only He can live in and through them, perpetually begging for what in Him they already have!"

Grace and peace to you,

How does a Christian receive this spiritual hunger and spiritual thirst that satisfies all spiritual desire?

They came out of the town and made their way toward Him.
Meanwhile His disciples urged Him, “Rabbi, eat something.”
But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.

Why would you think that?

Is this supposed to be funny?
Why? your response seems to imply that Posthuman hasn't received the Holy Spirit-which could be construed as both condescending and insulting. the only people I know with that kind of arrogance are usually of the more excitable variety.

Funny? God has a sense of humor-maybe you should grow one.

Actually, 7, I'm not anti the gifts. I don't believe that tongues is evidence of 'the baptism of the Holy Spirit,' so maybe that's what you mean? I do have a habit of mocking sanctimony whenever it seems to appear. I call it 'poking the bear.'

I guess it could be taken that way.

He did ask "are we supposed to be hungry or thirsty?"

My answer was "if he's received holy spirit" he should be filled. So he is opening discussion on the topic.

I'll check at the dollar store for one.

Let me rephrase this as some readers may think I'm posting to THEM personally.

A Christian shouldn't be hungry or thirsty if they have received the holy spirit Skeley.

The above quotes are speaking directly in figurative language from Genesis and Revelation in regards to the tree of life and the water of life.

(Mat 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.)

Once a Christian has received Christ's righteous they have been satisfied.

My apologies to the offended.

The ones at wal-mart are better. No offense by me, and I see you do have a sense of humor. My apologies.
