Faith is believing the unseen as seen, with patience
Hi Patrick, the Bible seems to say as much (y) For instance,

Hebrews 11
1 Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Romans 4
20 With respect to the promise of God, he [Abraham] did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God,
21 and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.

There are many faiths and many implications of the word faith.
I can have faith in you that you will do something you have said you would do.
I can have faith in a bridge that it will carry my weight as I cross it.
I can have faith in Christ and the cross, that my sins are forgiven and He will lead me on the road
to life everlasting.

I can have faith that you know english.

But faith without demonstration, can just be a thought or an idea with no impact or change.
And because of faith if massive things will result, the wrong thing may be done because of
the wrong faith. What then is true faith and faith that is just a whim?

There is faith that is subjective, its consequences rely on you alone.
There is faith that relies on how another will respond.

So I can trust my friend to catch me if I jump. My faith is proven by me jumping,
and my faith is right if I am caught.

So my faith has two points of failure. It could be false, a delusion, an invented idea
about something that is not true. My response to my faith can be real and a true
statement of my belief. The response of the other party shows whether my faith was
correct in predicting how they would respond.

Many faith groups ignore the belief in how the other party will respond and project
hopeful outcomes when other things are much more likely.

This is why faith in Christ is more complicated and Jesus Himself pointed out many
will have false faith and conclude completely the wrong things so you need to be
careful.

in the OP, he mentions faith with patience what are examples of that faith.

about being caught if one jumps, that reminded me of peter stepping onto the water, his faith was for a moment then he fell in.

true Faith has to reflect Christ's Spirit -
so through Faith, Abraham offered-up his only begotten son' -
HEB. 11.

Hi MTOC, there is only One God/One Savior/One Creator of all and over all (no matter what some individuals may believe to the contrary).

Isaiah 43
10 "You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD,
“And My servant whom I have chosen,
So that you may know and believe Me
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
And there will be none after Me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD,
And there is no Savior besides Me."

Isaiah 45
5 “I am the LORD, and there is no other;

Besides Me there is no God."

John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him ~nothing~ came into being that has come into being.

We have God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Which God are we to put our Faith in?
