Hey Everyone,
A while back, LadyInWaiting posted a great thread asking 10 questions that helped us get to know each other a little better. I thought it would be cool to re-ask some of those questions and go a little more in-depth.
Here we go!
* What is your favorite color, and why? Was there a specific reason you started liking that color?
* Are you someone who would paint your walls, buy a car, and wear an outfit--all in your favorite color? Why or why not?
* What kinds of things do you like to buy or obtain in your favorite color, and why?
* What kinds of feelings and memories do you associate with that color?
My favorite color, even from the time I was a kid, has always been red. I always say I got that from my Dad, because red is his favorite color, and I think it was because of him that I started noticing red things.
I also tend to be very picky about "my" shade of red--it has to be a "pure" red--not too much blue, not too much pink, and definitely not too much orange. Once I find that perfect red shade, I could easily go overboard. I've had office walls that were painted red, drive a red car, and can easily choose a good number of accessories that would all be red (cookware, a vase, pair of shoes, bag, etc.)
Ironically (and unfortunately), I no longer feel that I can wear much red around my face because it exacerbates the slight ruddiness in my skin. The past few years, I've found that cobalt blue seems to work much better as my clothing choice, but I will always have a weakness for red (just like kryptonite!)
I love that red is passionate, full of creative energy, wakes up most anything it's set against, and it will always hold an emotional bond for me because I can remember how happy my Dad was when we got a red station wagon as the family car. I love red because it's an active color that says, "Don't just sit there, get up and do something about it!"
What color do YOU love, and what does your favorite color say to you?
