You don't have the point yet. There is no room for ...PC.....with scripture. It says what it says.
Often when applying ...PC...in daily life, magnitude of the message is lost.
Some pastors do more spiritual harm than good. There are ways to get your point across without belittling those who don't understand or agree with you. You can teach that God is a god of hellfire and brimstone or that He is a God of love. Some pastors don't get the love part but rather preach a message of hate and bigotry. To relate a spiritual truth to someone you must first know who they are and what they are about. If not, any message is indeed lost.

God doesn't ask people to respond.

God CAUSES people to respond.

We don't cleanse and purify our own hearts, the Lord Jesus Christ cleanses and purifies us.

Everything that you think is a pre-requisite for being a Christian and being saved is a Gift from God and does not come from the will or imagination of man.

So you either have faith that it is God that causes you to respond and purifies you, therefore saving you and keeping you saved...

Or you have faith in self that it is you that makes all the right decisions and purifies your own heart, therefore saving yourself and keeping yourself saved...

Add as many words as you would like to these simple statements but the simplicity stands.
Grandpa, what does scripture say?

God asks us to ask and says He will respond

7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8

9 So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Luke 11:9-10

Purify your hearts

8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
James 4:8-10

God chooses and we respond.
We are not robots and we have a will. Exercising this will allows me to respond to you through
this forum.

The polarised gospel you are suggesting is not real.
We meet Jesus through His word. We are given the choice to follow or leave it alone.
The rich young man chose not to follow, Peter and the apostles responded and followed.

We know love because God loved us, and put love in our hearts.

The faith of God and self is a splitting things not how Jesus split things.

We should ASPIRE to be on as high a level as a robot.

We are more like dogs or pigs in the presence of the Most High. We want to be obedient to our master and then we crap all over the house and chew everything up....

Most are completely obedient to their base nature and very few RESPOND to the Lord Jesus Christ.

But that's ok. You have to try your hardest before you find out how weak you truly are.

Good luck.

Gods Will and not your own.
Jesus is referring to asking for spiritual wisdom and judgement so we can do the right things.
Jesus asks us to hunger and thirst for righteousness.
James asks us to repent, to put to death the evil passions of the heart and put on the fruit of the Spirit.
This is all Gods will for us, put into action by our choosing.

You cannot get around everything we do we choose to do.
God is not choosing for us, like a glove puppet. We are partakers in the divine nature

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through
them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

My friend, I once felt like you feel many years ago.
I know how weak I was, but in Christ I know what He has made me.
And this is no joke, how strong He has made me in Him.
And that is the point, it is all in Him.

Do you know how to love the most difficult, disfunctional human being in the world?
Yes it is hard, it takes time, listening, feeling and understanding, but it is possible in
Gods grace. Can I tell you how? Let His word dwell in your heart and listen to Him.
And step by step He will lead you there.

I could write books about such things, but still it would not encompass enough, because
each day things weave a new tapestry and growth comes afresh. We are His handiwork,
we are His creation, a new creation in Christ Jesus, Amen.

Three kids and a mum with dementia, I know.
But it is just counting what is actually going on and living in the moment, and letting
Jesus's love work out, as you walk in His presence.

We are just blades of grass in a field, flowers blooming and are gone.
The joy of our interaction, sharing, helping, being, that is what we are in Christ.
What the world counts as loss, in Christ, it is gain.

Some people have faith in God.

Some people have faith in self.

IF you believe salvation can be lost, in any way, shape, or form, then you believe in self.

If you believe it is God that saves us and keeps us saved then you have faith in God.
I believe it is God that saves us and keeps us saved; but I do not believe that a point in time faith in the past when I was born again is the basis of my being saved today.

If you're born again what does that mean, precisely?

Can you be un-born again?
Reminds me of the question of Nicodemus (only yours is the opposite question . . .)

He asked: How can a man be born (again) when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb? The answer to his question was, of course, that this takes a miracle work of God to bring the new birth (when a man puts his faith in Jesus Christ).

Also, since we become a new creature when we're born again-where's the pile of dead bodies when we lose our salvation? It's got to be a huge pile, and it must stinketh!

God doesn't take his gift back, but I believe we can throw it away
Indeed: Heb. 13:5 "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

Be careful how you use the word....saved.
Remember ...it is appointed unto man once to die (physical death) and then the judgement.

We are .....born again ......while on this earth...living a righteous life....hopefully.
G-d will decide if we are....saved.

I doubt He appreciates some folks using the term ...saved...note the pass tense....on this earth thereby trying to negate His judgement.

The prolific signs on the fence posts around the word....have you been saved....obviously not if I can read the sign .........for I am still alive.
Actually, we can call ourselves saved--past tense. As long as we realize we are prophesying our future. God even does this.

Rom. 4:17 "(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were."

Until we are resurrected, and immortal, we are still unfinished product. I don't believe God will inadvertently lose us, but we can walk away from Him. If we don't fix our hearts and walk with Christ, we have walked away.

If some here think they can live anyway they please and God will still save them, they are in for a rude awakening. Jesus said: By their fruits, you will know them (Matt. 7:20). Have you looked at your fruits lately?

As long as we walk within the confines of this age, the work God started in us is not yet finished, but, as He has said, and what H says is always true, He will finish the work which He has begun.

God is not finished with us yet……….

That is true JaumeJ, and He is more than capable to get the job done.

Heb. 12:2 "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." :D

Walk trough the valley
There are verses that support eternal security and verses that don't, here is a verse that supports both, and also those who don't know
"Walk in the Light while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes."

Impossible: Scripture does not contradict - OSAS cannot be both true and false
Everyone will be rewarded according to their labour. "Behold I come quickly and My reward is with Me to give to every man according as his work shall be." Ok you win then, we are all eternally secure, we will all end up where we desire to be. "Where your treasure is there your heart will be."
