I learned to drive at nine, when my mother lost her license. By the time I was old enough to get a permit, I'd been driving for five years, and for thousands of miles.

Ironically, however, I didn't get a license until I was 23.

I'm kinda chuckling at the reasons why some didn't get their driver's license til later than "normal". I had my learner's permit at 15 1/2 with plans of getting my license at 16 like the rest of my friends but then didn't get it til I was 17 1/2. I kinda "borrowed" mom's car before I got my license and totaled it. My punishment was that dad wouldn't sign for my license until the car was paid for (fortunately it was an older car that wasn't worth much).
I know one young lady at my church who got a license as soon as she was able, but was NOT happy about getting a driver's license. I thought this was abnormal, as most young people are excited about the prospect, and I said as much. She said, "When I get a driver's license mom will send me to the store every time she needs something."

I didn't get my license until I was 21 and my reason was more stupider than yours. I just didn't bother. I lived about a block from my job, and my bank was on the same block, and the supermarket was also right there... *shrug* I had a bicycle if I wanted to go across town but I rarely needed to.

Indolence forever!
You probably saved thousands of dollars, and got some exercise too. Procrastination has perks apparently.

I got mine ASAP also. I even had my car purchased and waiting in driveway so as soon as I passed I had a car. It was nice having freedom to escape at will. My buddies enjoyed my freedom also; free to pick them up; free to go camping; free to be the designated driver.

WARNING

There seem to be a lot of individuals whose self improvement goal is losing weight. First of all congratulations on reaching the step of desire to change. As one who has dedicated thousands of hours studying the body and brain in attempt to reach the highest levels of physical and cognitive function, I’ve learned more than a bit on this topic.

Losing weight should not be a goal. Gaining health should be the goal. Excess weight is an indicator of other problems, not the problem itself. There is a reason that fad diets work. If someone has a digestive issue that causes them to gain weight, a specific diet will work for them. Then everyone tries it. Few who share that reason for weight gain have fantastic results, many have moderate results and most just get frustrated and return to bad habits worse than when they started. Every week Woman’s World magazine has a fad weight loss technique. That’s a whole lot of fads after years of publication.

Here’s some advice to help those who are interested in getting healthy, and in turn losing the symptom of fat storage.

Your body is a machine. Christians should have little trouble accepting this. Your body is engineered to adapt for population control and survival. This is important to understand because it uses hormones as indicators and adjusters to tweak the inner and outer environment.

People gain weight because of many reasons, greater ones being; not enough nutrition. It’s not food excess, it’s vitamin and nutrition deficiency. I don’t want to make this post a book but I want to help some of you.

So much to consider it’s overwhelming. In order for your body to use food as nutrients it has to effectively digest it. This means chewing adequately, preparing the stomach acidity, waiting the right amount of time between food choices. Nourishing your gut flora, populating your intestines with healthy bacteria, is key. This is what breaks it down for transport to your blood and to your cells. Flushes gets rid of years of bad eating choices but can effectively wipe out digestive populations. When infants get bad diarrhea, it effects the immune system because the food reintroduced becomes toxic because it can’t be digested. This develops into allergies.

Sorry, back on track. It’s all one system. First step for weight loss is a big fast, like multiple day fast. It relaxes the digestive track and clears it out. Then when you start eating, eat like a baby....not breast milk. Slightly cook vegetables like carrots, peas, and sweet potatoes. Purée them. After two weeks introduce harsher veggies like broccoli, spinach some vegumes like lentils. This is medicine it’s not supposed to entice you. Eventually you work your way up to dairy like yogurt, and cottage cheese. Then fish and chicken. Then ground meats until eventually whole meats.

Apple cider vinegar is like an aphrodisiac for gut flora. This is why it works for some people.

Only eat one type of food at a time regularly. So if you are going to have fruit, eat only fruit. If you are going to have meat, eat only meat. The multiple food idea is just wrong. Fruit takes half hour to leave the stomach and causes it to be alkaline. Meat stays in your stomach for three hours and causes it to be acidic, for digestion. When you eat meat with potatoes, it causes your stomach to neutralize, preventing meat from digesting. Drinking water with food and taking antacids also impedes digestion. The reason people get heartburn has more to do with the portion size of meat, and not chewing enough. This causes your stomach to release more acid and prolong the time in the stomach. Then you go to the doctor and get antacids that really cause problems. Then your undigested meat reaches your intestines where it kills the flora.

There is so many things to consider. If anyone wants to message me for advice I’d be happy to help. Most people probably didn’t make it this far anyway,

So much to consider about hormone optimalization, the difference of what helps girl, and helps boys. Yes we are very different. All I can say is, those who want to change their body image, look at a mammal you want to like then, eat what they eat, and do what they do. Simple right. If you walk lots and eat salad, you will look like another animal doing this; cows. If you run as fast as you can, and eat meat then you will look like a cheetah. It’s not that simple but it’s a start to consider. Animals without fir gain more weight for insulation from cold. If you turn off the air conditioning, you will literally sweat your butt off. Your body adapts to the high heat by reducing insulation. It’s too simple when you think about really. However heavier people jack the air to maintain comfort.

Enough for now I guess, probably too much already.

I want to improve my grammar and accent especially when speaking English 😥 no matter how I read and practice my accent is still obvious

When I was younger I want to look thin my lightest weight was 46 kilos and my heaviest is my current weight (forgive me I can't reveal it 😂) My younger self before wants to look thin to look good 😥 now my older self wants to lose weight to be healthy 😂

Eat right
Eat less
And exercise more I guess that's the secret of maintaining a healthy and strong body 😊 and I am having a hard time doing this 😉 especially if u love food and you can cook 😐

Eating right, isn’t often eating less. That’s genuinely the first mistake. The less you eat the more your body stores. The trick is to eat a surplus of healthy food so your body thinks there is an abundance of nourishment available. Then it will stop storing. In order to drop fat, you have to send mixed signals. Starve for half the day so your body uses fat stores for fuel, but feed excess in afternoon to prevent from restorage of fat reserves.

That sounds a lot harder than "eat moderately and exercise moderately."

But hey, if that's what works for you... so what weight are you down to now?

Whoa, whoa, wait... What's wrong with an accent? People around you making fun of it? Ain't a thang in the world wrong with an accent.

Wanting to lose weight I can understand. That's why I took up biking. Wanting to eat right, that's good. Even improve your grammar if you really think it will improve your life, but don't lose the accent!

I don't have an accent because I lived in the states all my life, but when I try to speak tagalog, my relatives laugh.

Some jobs require good English 😊 especially when dealing with people from different countries you have to deliver the message clearly 😊
