I remember reading that the Ottoman Empire actually encouraged the return of the Jews to the middle east since they were being expelled from Spain and France.

Even before then, as the Ottomans conquered Anatolia and Greece, they encouraged Jewish immigration from the European lands they were expelled from. These Ashkenazi Jews mixed with the already large Romaniot (Byzantine) Jewish communities that had become part of the Ottoman Empire as they had conquered lands from the Byzantine Empire. [17][18]

An additional problem was the lack of unity among the Jews themselves. They had come to the Ottoman Empire from many lands, bringing with them their own customs and opinions, to which they clung tenaciously, and had founded separate congregations. Another tremendous upheaval was caused when Sabbatai Zevi proclaimed to be the Messiah. He was eventually caught by the Ottoman authorities and when given the choice between death and conversion, he opted for the latter. His remaining disciples converted to Islam too. Their descendants are today known as Donmeh.

His-story .....history is predestined by God he wrote what he wanted to happen if man does something contrary to his purposes God can use whoever he chooses to redirect it ......God establishes the nations if he doesn't want someone leading them he takes them out. Everybody sweats it to much God is on his throne and he will fulfill his purposes. .....it doesn't matter who is in charge because can and does direct good and evil people alike. He makes sons of Abraham out of stones and melts or hardens hearts and minds as he pleases....
God owns it all .....it is his creation think of it like the NFL......God says who gets a franchise and who doesn't and he directs who plays and who doesn't. .....but in the end Jesus Christ has already won the Superbowl and was the MVP......so like a Metallica song........
