Morning walk ponderings...
I want to share, lol, you know me. Anyway, I was out in nature reflecting on His goodness, Nature, the work He is providing, the loves in my life, the sleep I have been getting, and most important, Himself...so many reasons to rejoice in Him.
You know we so often, (well, I do, anyway) determine our walk with Christ on so many things. For example, are those we love and respect, our brothers and sisters in Christ, approving of us, accepting and reassuring us (ugh at that self centeredness, lol. Besides, how we are perceived is not the whole truth)... are we studying the word enough... does it all come together...are we doing and giving enough...is work good... are all our surroundings and finances in order...are we full of peace and joy, all the time...are all the wounds and baggage of the past gone...how exhausting...how daunting...how silly!!!
How silly are those notions. Yes, our light should shine. Yes, repetance comes with transformation. Yes, it is rewarding and evident having His presence indwelling. However, all those things come with just reflecting on His goodness, His Love, His work, His mercy, His promises and assurances. With Him, we are set free to be used by Him. With Him, we can get beyond ourselves and our performance. He is not a performance art God. He is the real deal.
When dark thoughts, insecurities, guilt, shame, fear and anxiety, broken pieces, need for approval, self-centered negative thought patterns, any of it surface, we can redirect our thoughts. We are not stuck in our shackles of self. His word is clear...
As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God.
Psalms 42:1 NASB
Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
