This verse is often misinterpreted by works-salvationists who imply that Paul is teaching there are Christians who have faith, but no hope or love, so they won't be saved, yet that is NOT the point that Paul is making here. If someone has truly placed their faith (belief, trust, reliance) in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and has received the Holy Spirit, it would be impossible for them to have NO hope or love at all. Paul uses hyperbole (obvious and intentional exaggeration) about understanding ALL mysteries and ALL knowledge and having faith that can move mountains yet having NO love, but Paul is not exaggerating about the importance of love.

Faith works through love (Galatians 5:6), but we are still saved through faith, not faith plus love/acts of charity. Paul is stressing that love is the greater quality of the three because God is love and it outlasts them all. Long after faith and hope are no longer necessary throughout eternity, love will still be the governing principle that controls everything that God and his redeemed people/saints are and do. We will not need faith and hope throughout eternity in our glorified bodies in the presence of the Lord.

Paul is not teaching that even if our faith is genuine that our faith cannot save us without producing "enough" love/acts of charity or without having "enough" hope. If we have saving faith in Christ, then we have this hope. Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things HOPED for. Titus 3:7 - So that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the HOPE of eternal life. Unlike the english word "hope," the N.T. word contains no uncertainty; it speaks of something that is certain. - Strong's #1680 elpís (from elpō, "to anticipate, welcome") – properly, expectation of what is sure (certain); hope.

So although Paul is stressing the importance of love, he is not teaching salvation through faith + love, as if we could produce "enough" acts of charity to merit eternal life. All genuine BELIEVERS love Christ. Why? Because believers have received the love of God in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (Romans 5:5) when we believed the gospel (Ephesians 1:13). We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7)

Hatred is like a cancer. It eats away at ones soul, and distorts everything it touches.

Jesus taught one simple truth. His sheep, his people have an encounter with God. They are born from on High.
It shows itself in various ways, but cannot be seen by ones eye or anyone outside the heart.

Because of this encounter, new life springs forth. This new life is as inevitable as a seed planted in good soil
with water, sprouts and puts forward leaves of life. And the fruit of this seed is equally plain and obvious.

Walking and listening to Jesus. Obeying and knowing Gods law on their hearts. I remember the notion on reading
the law of God, I understand that idea, I agree it sounds good. I found the more I read the more my heart sang about
the writer of this law. Every step there has been an experience and then scripture puts it into context.

So rejoice my brothers and sisters in Christ. We are the people of God so claim it, and walk in it and speak its
language, and know who is your King. Because we can choose and we need to learn and be disciplined we can
be distracted. So while it is still day, let us work hard to follow and uplift our King and His word, Amen.

This is an interesting idea you are putting forward.
The truth is the whole bible was finished probably 100ad.

We have letters from the early church leaders, who write sermons explaining what the scriptures
mean and how to interpret them, to oppose various heresies which were being preached.

It is said there are so many documents with quotes from scripture from 100ad to 200ad you could
build the whole of the new testament from scratch if you had not other source.

And the reason why these sermons are historically significant because they refer to places and problems
that occurred specifically at certain times in history.
Put simply what you are suggesting is so wrong, you just need to listen to a lecture for a textual expert
to begin to get a clue as to our current understanding of where things are.

when did i say that, 100ad,


if a church that is hidden from judaism , means judaism they never read the full new testament, (when did the people of 00-100 read the new testament, what printing press did they have.) it also means the hidden church never had a full bible either

you would have to ask rome, given they stole most of the old testament from the jewish people around 70 ad,

and how they put the 66 books together, that form the bible.

then the date the 66 books went to print then sold or given to the public.etc

GOD KEEPS HIS PROMISES, PERIOD.


The 144,000 are HIS MORTAL REMNANTS to repopulate ISRAEL, while those inside ISRAEL (not those who flee ISRAEL, Zech. 14:2, to go into exile), all who HEAR AND BELIEVE THE TWO WITNESSES WILL BECOME PART OF THE MARTYRED SAINTS (Tribulation Saints).

I believe he 144000 are jewish missionaries not only for Israel but the whole world. We do knnow this time period is also called the time of Jacob’s trouble. Where God uses the wrath on earth to also draw his people back to himself. And as the prophet says, She (Israel) will be saved out of it. And as Paul said in romans 11. As the time of the gentile is brought to an end with the return of Christ, All Israel will be saved.

My problem with the view of many.....We are some 2000 years past the cross with Only the bible as the accurate record of the 1st coming of Christ and a good solid view of that coming based upon scripture....and yet when it comes to the second coming many will not even address it or have a hard time understanding it EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE 8 PROPHECIES CONCERNING THE 2ND COMING FOR EVER 1 THAT APPLIED UNTO THE 1ST COMING........I was raised in a church that peddled the same ole imminent return theology and even peddled the same two out of context regurgitated verses to "proove" their stance.....It was not until I spent my first three years in seminary studying through the entire bible twice a year that my view changed to a post tribulation pre wrath stance....within that time frame I had to teach over 600 lessons publically in church and what really got me on to questioning the view that NO ONE QUESTIONED was having to teach through two church letters...1st and 2nd Thessalonians......the truth is there, but it takes honesty and being willing to be open to what is actually being said!

This is what I mean,, Talk about attacking people.. Thats why I love this topic. But HATE discussing it.

I have spent years studying prophecy, I have studied all points of view. And my final conclusion in the end was this

Amil - Symbolic interpretation of scripture. (believes we are in the millenium now)
Pre-mil - Literal interpretation. Believes we are in the church age, or in the final age of the gentiles. Which will come to an end, Jesus will return in the future to set up his earthly kingdom in jerusalem on davids throne,

Pre-mil falls into 3 general views, Post Trib, Mid trib and Pre trib

Post trib- Rapture occures at the end, upon the return of Christ.

Mid trib - Rapture occures before the abomination of desolation, Before the actual time of wrath (time of Gods wrath is the final 3.5 years, not the whole 7)

Pre-trib - Church is removed before the man of sin is revealed (a covenant is made with many for 7 years which is also the tribulation period)

Of all these, in my studies

1. Amil is not even believable. Too much twisting of Gods word
2. Post mill I see far to many issues (you have the rapture, the bema seat judgement of all saved people of all time, then training for the kingdom age all happening in a split second, not)
3. Mid trib and pre trib I am torn. I believe there are to many problems with mid trib, but at same token, To much makes total sense. So although I lean pre, it is not set in stone. (My biggest issue is the wrath issue, There is peace the first 3.5, Not wrath. And second, when is the restrainer removed, Before the covenant, or before the abomination?)

But no matter what. I will not judge a brother for whatever they believe.

When I started hearing rapture theories I was in a non denominational ministry. So dissent was tolerated. No firm stance was pushed over another. Pre trib. seems much to easy and there seem to me to be enough clear warnings about what to expect. I can clearly see a cashless society is almost ready to happen. We (the public) just need to be tricked into falling for it.

I do not think they will be tricked, I think it will be forced. We are already seeing issues with the cashless society, Identity theft is a huge issue, The best way to take care of it is to make a totally cashless system. I think it will come by need, But then the man of sin will take it and turn it against the world.

My view on the gates of hell not prevailing against the march of the kingdom is two fold ..

a. The power of evil will not stop it or defeat it

b. Death shall not overtake it and it will come to fruition as planned

My view is God sent the church into enemy territory (inside the gates of Hell) and the gate will not stop Gods church.

A gate is something used to keep people out. Gods church will not be kept out. Satan will try, Many will suffer and be killed. But Satan will not win.

Gates represent "authority or power to make decisions that others must submit to." Yeshua/Jesus took away all power and authority from the kingdom of darkness so..........the kingdom of darkness MUST NOW SUBMIT to the Kingdom of Light - which is the Kingdom of God/Heaven in the Earth.

What is sad, is many do not know their power and authority or they miss use it.

Your theory is very intriguing......I know there is something to it........there is no way Yeshua/Jesus or the Father would have left them to die like that without some recompense.......reward.......justification.......they died for His Son.......they were children martyrs.......come on! Each one was special and honored before God in Heaven........just saying.....

Babies have been being killed since the begining of time. Gods people have been killed, and are being killed all over the earth.

Not sure there were 144000 people in the city, let alone babies under 2.

This is one of them maybes, But not something i would set as gospel truth. It is intriging, But not sure the logic fits..

the point was, your read it in the bible, and formed an opinion from reading the scripture.
if you never read the scripture,or have a bible, why would you read the old testament,

jesus and paul in the new testament, could read , from the original manuscripts, of the jewish people, and made quotes because they could read from the originals, when everyone else never because they were not allowed to at this point in history, and never had a bible, etc

Amen to the scriptures you have presented and i hope that you would humbly accept every word that comes from the mouth of God which were taught and written by the prophets, apostles and disciples for our benefit.

Here's James who wrote his book with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and he wrote;

And here's what John wrote;

Would you HUMBLY ACCEPT these verses according to how they said it with the GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, not according to the OSAS doctrine?
