What have you done Johnny? Disconnected your doorbell, or something? Stuffed "cottonballs" in yer ears, so ya can't hear? You will never know, if you don't answer! And, you will never know if it's "God calling", if you won't test the spirits!
Is it scary? Yes, Johnny! I'm not gonna pull no punches with ya! It's scary, cuz it's SUPERNATURAL (unseen), and NOT EMPERICAL (seen)!

"I ignore it, knowing it's not from the Lord. It could be from the enemy who appears as an angel of light."

Yeah? It could be the enemy disguised as an angel of light. (sighs)...But? I guess you'll never KNOW for certain, will ya?

I will be fine if I stick to God's word. You think you need more than what Scripture provides...that's fine for you.

Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

how 'bout them gentiles?

You search for earthquakes, I'll search the Scriptures. I'm ok with that.

"and those things that were done"

just demonstrating the scripture does record gentiles believing by what they saw rather than having heard the gospel preached.

;)

we however do not know Him after the flesh. as i see it y'all both have a point

(sighs) Oh Johnny, Johnny, Johnny! :)

1 Corinthians 2
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Paul wanted to teach upon these deeper things of God, as did Christ Himself. But, were unable! As eyes were hard of seeing, and ears deaf of hearing.
Jesus used "Parables."
Paul used "Mysteries."

Isaiah 28
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Perhaps? Yer still a "milky?"

You'll never know, if you DON'T answer the friggin' door! :)

As we read and study Scripture, the Holy Spirit helps us in our understanding. Many things in Scripture cannot be understood without the help of the Spirit. Precept upon precept, line upon line is pointing to Scripture.

The more evidence we require, the less faith it takes to believe. Which takes more faith?

1. Seeing and experiencing Noah's ark and believing
2. Reading Scripture about Noah's ark and believing by faith

This is true, Johnny! It also points to Spiritual! Here a little? There a little?
But, ya can't know, unless you answer the friggin' door! ;)
Revelation 3
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and OPEN the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

I am here today to tell you about a great miracle god has given unto me. I am a living witness the spirit of the lord has appeared to me and I stood in his presence and I saw many things that only the prophets themselves have witnessed.

...and then you set the pipe down once you realized the lighter no longer had any fluid left in it?

Its like the people that say I have faith and the other say where is your faith show me your faith by your works. Faith without works is dead?

Some people are skeptical and want to have a "show me' before they believe.
Others are like what, i dont even need to be shown. Bible is good enough for me. Its true. I trust what God says.

Others are like..Let me check what the bible says first.

I think there are both types of believers and we can be a bit of both too. However There is scripture that says eye has not seen nor ear heard all the things God has prepared (check this out if you dont believe me)

Even Jesus said if you dont believe what I say, look at the works, what GOd has done...all the miracles. Etc.

With the angel of light thing...well yes some people can be deceived with supernatural experiences, but again, as someone else posted we test the spirits to see if they are from God. So doubting thomas may have been a bit faithless but it was jesus himself who invited him to touch him and feel his hands and feet and poke and prode him to make sure he was really alive.

It wasnt Thomas fault that hed been out when Jesus had appeared to all the others. Maybe he had some other business to do that day.

The Holy Spirit is with me at all times helping me discern God's word, reminding me of who I am in Christ and convicting me of sin.

Again, God conditioned the Jews to require a sign to believe. After the final rejection of their Messiah in Acts 28, the signs ceased and we are to walk by faith in God's word, not by sight. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Faith does not come by sight. Believing can come by sight, but not faith.

If you read the next few verses it doesn't actually sound like 'precept upon precept, line upon line' is a desirable thing...

Isaiah 28:11-13
For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people.
To whom He said, This [is] the rest [wherewith] ye may cause the weary to rest; and this [is] the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

This was, of course, duly recorded in Acts 29 and referenced in 1 Speculations 3:8-9.

Don't tell him that he is keeping himself a Virgin for final curtain call!
