I'm sorry TT, I can't agree with the above.Hi Fran, you are holding everyone here to a "high standard of journalism", correct; well I believe as you do that Jesus taught His follower's, "to be kind and loving", also to love God and our neighbor as thyself. But Jesus did not teach His follower's to "love everyone", as you say.
Not everyone is deserving of our "love and kindness", would you not agree, or should we "be kind to all and love everyone", without prejudice. Are there not some cases where we should rather show anger and withhold love and kindness like Jesus also did with the money changes in the Temple courts?

I don't believe Jesus agrees with you either. In Mathew 5:44 Jesus tells us that we are to love our enemies too, and those that persecute us....IN ORDER to be Sons of our Father in Heaven.
This means that if we expect to be Sons of God, we must love our neighbor. Jesus continues to say that if we love only our friends and those that love us....what reward do we have? None! Even the tax gatherers do the same. He then tell us to be perfect like our Father in heaven is perfect...IOW,,,,to do what our Father expects from us...the best we can.
I like to be kind to everyone. At times I'm personally attacked and might make a harsh statement when pushed to it...this is because I'm not perfect and sin...It is NOT what Jesus would expect from me.
If we show anger...we turn the person off (as I have been turned off to some on this thread) and we no longer listen to them or care what they say. It's good to be nice to everyone...it's a good testimony of our Christianity.
Because Jesus was mad does not give us the right to be mad. Jesus was God,,,we're not. He was mad...a righteous mad... Being on a forum and discussing a difference of opinion on a doctrine does NOT give us the right to be mad.
Jesus wanted His church to be ONE.
Jesus and the writers spoke a lot about this. The tongue can kill. Here's one verse:

If life is actually purgatory, the place between heaven and hell, once you have closed the door, the door
will probably be closed on you.
We make Jesus more complicated than necessary and walking in His ways vastly more distant than He
has shown. 3 years living with the disciples, and they were clean, walking righteously.
That should make anyone think twice about their own simple compromises and wonder what does

The following is what upsets Paul.
2 Thessalonians 3:11-12
Paul’s Commands
11 Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people’s business. 12 We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living.
I can't see unemployment in any of the things Paul said that if you do then you will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
If you do not have a job it does not stop you doing work though, even if unpaid.
So you would say its the REFUSAL to work thats a sin? Okay. That makes sense. I wont refuse work! NEVER HAVE!

I have to say this subject is sunday school level of bible teaching.
And my friend TT, you have been in the church longer than sunday school I think.
It also worries me.
Jesus said we must "Love our neighbour as yourself" mark 12:31
Jesus said we must "Love your enemies" Matt 5:43
Jesus said we must "Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. " Matt 13:34
1. Is this the list of Jesus's commands about loving people?
2. Is there any human who is not our neighbour, our enemy, or a brother and sister in Christ?
If there is no one outside Jesus's description, He calls us to love everyone.
But this is not forgiving everyone, dealing with them without taking sin into account, not
going to war with them etc.
This is why the word "loving" is not a simple phrase but multilayered.
You're not sinning by not having a job. God knows the desires of your heart. Just keep looking he will open a door for you
Sometimes life throws us a curveball we find ourselves in places and situations we don't like. Jesus told his disciples one day to get in the boat and cross the sea.... while they were in the boat that Jesus told them to get in a storm came up and they were fighting for their lives. Right in the middle of a deadly storm but also right in the middle of the will of God. Just remember he is the eye of the storm
I like what Warren wiersbe said when God allows his children to go through the fire he has his eye on the clock and his hand is on the thermostat, he knows how hot to let the fire get and how long to leave us in it

Laughter often comes in ridiculous and hopelessly confused situations.
And if this thread proves anything, it actually needs a lot more praise, rejoicing, laughter and
grace.

If a person is looking for work but cannot get work, why would that be a sin?
Big difference between will not and wanting to and looking.
