Mark 15:44 Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died.

Christianity rises and falls on Messiah alone.... If He is not the sinless Lamb of G-d that died on the Cross and rose on the third day and is coming back Christianity is a hokes! You have to ask about all three because if He just died but never rose or is not coming back.... He is just a man that has decayed in a grave like everyone else.
To answer the question. Yes! Why would you think He did not die? But is that the heart of your question?

It's not real silly; I remember in Bible College we had to be able to answer this question because of false doctrines. So we learnt about all the spices the "women" rubbed Him with to prepare Him for burial. That alone would Have killed Him. Even secular teaching tells us about death on a cross. I think a better question would be did Jesus dismiss His Spirt and die as reordered to hasten death o the Cross.... That is just me and I'm being an ….. to reword the question.... But I think that would be fun.... But I do respect the post as is and think it is ligament….
He dismissed His Spirit? No, not really. He was a man, flesh, just for everyone, even for me. He lived and was cricified as a man so that no flesh might fault Him forr being the true Jedge.
He did have the Father dwelling in Him. He was raised by the Father, and after He was raised He was being florified for 40 days until He ascended. He is God, and He is the Father, and He is teh Holy Spirit, ask Isaiah, but while He was alking His erth, He weas a man.
He is the first born of the resurrection, yet He is the resurrection. Do not attmpt to even hint that you , I or anyone can explain how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are yet One, for this mystery is privileged information until the ingdom.

We can help you with your homework but you actually got to do some study yourself. I mean this is a really easy question to answer he didnt die anywhere else! Theres even the shroud of turin showing his bloodstains.
Most of his life people tried to kill Jesus bit they didnt suceed. King Herod wanted him dead, even as a baby, he beheaded his cousin john the baptist. Pharisees wished to stone him. But it was the romans who crucified Jesus because he got charged in their court on false accusations and that was their method of execution. The romans were in charge of the judicial system at the time. However many people consented in his desth and it was Judas who betrayed him. jesus knew this and he knew how he was going to die.

Hi @LeeLoving, Journeyman makes an important point here about Jesus' death when he reminds us of the Lord's dual nature. He was 100% Divine and 100% human as well, since the Incarnation. Was your opening question concerned with this distinction, IOW, with how it might be that God could actually "die"?
