saying that Jesus is God is something no Christ follower should have any issue answering.

unless, there is a reason why you do not want to.
AMEN......and when one peddles a working for losable salvation and is not willing to say that JESUS is God................reeks of Jehovah's Witness

But my righteous[g] one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.’[h]

39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Heb10:38&39
What you trying to say here?

this thread does have a title and all.. but tbh over 4,000 pages it covers a great breadth of topic. and the deity of Christ is inextricably linked to a salvation which is 'not by works' -- would you like to discuss how it is linked?
Not really, Christ lives in me, via the Spirit, that is enough for me

what two questions? i looked back several pages but i couldn't find what you're talking about... little help?
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them(believers) may be one,Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as(AS) we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me John17:20-23

How can believers be in Father and Son as they are in each other?
How can believers be one as(AS) Father and Son are one?

Fran.......why is it so hard to just post honest definitions.......

con·cu·pis·cence
/känˈkyo͞opəsəns/
noun
FORMAL

  1. strong sexual desire; lust.
Oh for goodness sake D.

This is the problem with looking up stuff on the internet and dictionaries.

Concupiscense means sexual desire.....
This is what it will say.

But if you study Catholic doctrine, you'd know that it means any desire that goes against God's laws.
In sin have I begotten you.....Psalm 51:5
It's believed that in the act of procreating (and not procreating) man is at his base self. I won't go beyond this...hope you understand.

So the sin nature (which is what we understand) is understood to be primarily present in the act of procreation.

However, ANY desire against God is called concupisence. That part of us that makes us tend toward sin.

405 Although it is proper to each individual,295 original sin does not have the character of a personal fault in any of Adam's descendants. It is a deprivation of original holiness and justice, but human nature has not been totally corrupted: it is wounded in the natural powers proper to it, subject to ignorance, suffering and the dominion of death, and inclined to sin - an inclination to evil that is called concupiscence". Baptism, by imparting the life of Christ's grace, erases original sin and turns a man back towards God, but the consequences for nature, weakened and inclined to evil, persist in man and summon him to spiritual battle.

You should know by now that I know both Catholic and Protestant doctrine.

How can believers be one as(AS) Father and Son are one?
i fail to see how this is an answer to the questions i asked -- could you clarify that?

i asked:

do you understand how the divinity of Christ is inextricable from a salvation by faith?
or do you not care about whether it is or not?
is Christ God?

i also asked what 2 questions you keep bringing up -- are these the two questions?

How can believers be in Father and Son as they are in each other?
How can believers be one as(AS) Father and Son are one?

is Christ God? or not?
i fail to see how this is an answer to the questions i asked -- could you clarify that?

Interesting.

Is there not a difference between nature and flesh?

Is the nature in Jesus sinful?
Flesh is flesh.
My finger typing this message is flesh.

But if I called you a stupid cow is that my nature?
We all have a nature....
Man has a sinful nature which is kept under submission by the Holy Spirit.
I believe this and have learned this from two different mainline churches.

Some churches teach that the Sin nature becomes abolished when one is born again.
I don't agree with this because it leaves no reason for why we sin.

Jesus had no SIN. He had no sin nature.
The sin nature, or original sin, is transferred from human to human at conception by the male since it was Adam who caused the human race to fall. Jesus did not have a human father...the sin nature was not passed on to Him.

You calling me a stupid cow would be a big mistake on your part...
:)

However...flesh in the N.T. does not mean the finger you're typing with....it's just another term for sin nature,,,or concupicsence. Catholics mostly use that term.

So the sin nature, or the flesh, would be what makes you call me that terrible name...it WOULD be your nature as a human...your sin nature.

Like I said, if you want to discuss trinity start a thread on it, this one is about something else entirely
Christ Jesus as God with us (Emanuelle) is completely apart from any trinitarian doctrine

So answer the question.
