Sorry, Penn Ed but where does the parable state it was a "false confession"

Jesus very clearly states in those on the way side did not believe, "lest they should be saved"

He makes a direct connection between the word "believe" and "salvation"

Your only choice is to say that the rocky ground people lost their salvation, however in terms of the big picture of the new covenant message we know this is not true.

So we know they were indeed "believers" saved and the "fell away" in that they did not continue to develop their faith and produce fruit.

The parable ultimately is about producing fruit......which are converts to the faith. :)
No worries. You don't have to be sorry. I just disagree with your assessment.

The key is that these people heard the Word, liked what they heard, but the fact they fell away proves they didn't have saving faith. And the reason, they didnt have saving faith is because they didn't have a root.

Jesus IS the root. A plant gets it's water and its food from the root.

They have grass seed that you can throw on concrete and it will sprout out and griw, but it will quickly die because it doesnt have a root.

We all know people who fit this bill. Wow! This is great. Sure I believe. But they were just looking for a get out of he'll card and didn't really believe.

If I were to ask my cousin for instance. Do you believe in Jesus? He'd say sure I do. But there is zero evidence that he does. Will he someday? Maybe. But as of now, he has no Root.

EG...Does not Galatians 1:6-7 answer it ?...xox...
That is one type of heresy sis, there are many types.

So my answer would be yes and no

Yes, a non believer, or anyone who teaches a different gospel will go to hell

But no, a person who gets end times prophesy wrong is not condemned to hell if they get the correct gospel right.

See my dilema?

Ps, i am learly because of people in the past asking these tyoes of questions to fish for answers, then try to take those answers and attack others.

Do you really believe a heretic who chooses to believe a false gospel goes to hell?
I never said that now did I?

In fact i have said a few times that only believers will go to heaven, non-believers will go to hell,

Non believers in the true gospel are not the ONLY heretics, according to the defenition, thats why everyone is asking you to define.

The type of heretic that goes to hell, was never saved.

But a sheep lacking knowledge who has a genuine faith in Jesus as his Savior goes to heaven if they are born again and adopted.

One wheat and one tare may hold the same error.... the wheat has been made new born again and is lacking in spiritual wisdom (obviously not called to be a teacher in this state) .... the other is a wolf being used by satan pushing heresy.... (being used by satan to teach garbage)

141. hairetikos ►
Strong's Concordance
hairetikos: causing division
Original Word: αἱρετικός, ή, όν
Part of Speech: Adjective
Transliteration: hairetikos
Phonetic Spelling: (hahee-ret-ee-kos')
Definition: causing division
Usage: disposed to form sects, sectarian, heretical, factious.

139. hairesis ►
Strong's Concordance
hairesis: choice, opinion
Original Word: αἵρεσις, εως, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: hairesis
Phonetic Spelling: (hah'-ee-res-is)
Definition: choice, opinion
Usage: a self-chosen opinion, a religious or philosophical sect, discord or contention.

(though I think it is safe to say, many specific forms of heresy would prove no genuine faith.... if we aren't trusting in Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior and born again and covered by His blood..... no justification)

(also you said "This is just my opinion; I do not believe God will allow a heretic into heaven." )

So are believers who have a divisive doctrine, like end times prophesy, etc etc. will they go to hell because they are a heretic?
You are the one who claimed those who trust a false gospel go to hell.

We are talking about the seed that fell upon a rock, it does spring up it has roots but the roots do not receive moisture, a plant on a rock needs lots of moisture because there is no soil retention.

Farmers of the day knew this.

To fall away means they did in fact believe and have saving belief.

Sorry again but it had root and something with a root will grow with water and sunshine

Also Jesus states in verse six......."it lacked moisture"

And when people state "I believe" ask them what they believe. Believing in Jesus is not believing the Gospel, it is only part of the story and in Acts we can see where this happens.

Jesus is telling about the "word" so there is a direct line between truth and believe and saved, he is not talking about people who are faking it.
