And what has that got to do with a statement that it can take you years to truly love God? I think it is more a case of birds of a feather stick together. As someone else said. Shifting the goalposts
That you cannot comprehend that PAUL is writing to saved people and reminding them of the state that they came from, while ignoring the context of the book and how those who are under the LAW are NOT justified in Christ and this is their condemnation.....

Rut Roh, I knew this was coming. Listen Brother, I am working, no pun intended, because actually He is, to help me understand.
In Jeremiah...
I will make an everlasting covenant with them that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put the fear of Me in their hearts so that they will not turn away from Me.
Jeremiah 32:40 NASB
Do I think He wants our love and that He states to love Him is to agree with Him in all that we say and do, yes.
Do I think any of it is possible without His loving us first, without His work on and since the cross, No. I just think they go together. Like I said with 2 Cor 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
2 Corinthians 9:8 NASB
So DCon, please know that I am getting there, (please be patient) not to please or to pick a side, but because He is helping me with this. I was going to wait to come back to this conversation when I could better bring something to the table. I'm so silly, though, it is He in me who brings to the table, not I.
I see the if's and the perseveres, and the "he who loves me will obey", and the Revelation's verses about blotting out, and the hebrews and the reprobate (hardened) heart. and I start to tremble, working out my salvation. I think He wants us to take our salvation (THROUGH ONLY HIM), to hold on to our knowing He died for us. I have been a believer, much of my life, but in the recent years, I started digging...
So I believe I didn't save myself, He did, so how could I keep myself, He does. I also firmly believe from the word and my life, that the good in me, any of it, is His. I just think that I get myself in trouble here, in this debate, because I think works honor Him and our Faith.
Like I told you, I am merely trying to find harmony in the word between Genesis to Revelation, not in everyone's opinions. Isn't that what He wants us to do?
I am not as biblically savy as you or many here on both sides of this discussion. I am just leaning into Him, trusting only He can bring me home.
Ducks just a little... this tuna knows she is swimming with the big fish, lol.

I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you!
(Galatians 4:11)
You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace!
(Galatians 5:4)
i ain't gonna say these people were lost -- not my prerogative -- but Paul kinda talks to them as if they are, don't he?
he is very adamant about the seriousness of what he has to say to them!
I have answered. As for holes in theology, a few of you just pretend huge swathes of scripture do not exist, or do sommersaults with it to fit in with your cosy views. That is far from Christian maturity

In that case they lost their salvation. For they started out in a saved state. So if you think they have become lost you cannot believe in osas can you
You know.....I did because of faith.....When I started this thread I prayed that God would make it the longest running thread and keep it page one for defense of biblical salvation and as a stance against all the deceivers that push works for and or a losable salvation.....
