Will look forward to your analysis. Of course, if Isa 53 is the only passage that talks about healing for the believer, you are right, following what Paul instructed us about in 2 Corinthians 13:1 " In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established."

I have already listed many passages that talks about healing, its just that there are people who choose to interpret all of them as "spiritual healing", which they have a right to their opinion of course.

All I know is that when Jesus was on earth, there was never once when he refused to heal anyone who approach him, he never said, "This sickness is used by God to teach you a lesson/to glorify him." If there are people who choose to hold that view, I can understand because it took me years to repent of that wrong belief. :)
Miracles don't save the soul. Some of those who preformed miracles or have had miracles will still be cast into the fiery pit....

Nope. I have a problem with people who say one can "declare" something with their mouth, and their words somehow have the power to alter reality. Which is exactly what the OP is implying.

further, your response to me is just as flippant and predictable as your so called question was to the op

she was asking a question. reading this thread (not to mention others), you can begin to see how gangs form with a desire to take down what they fear, do not understand or just plain hate for whatever reason

and the last sentence is not addressed to you personally but is certainly applicable in a general way

same thing happens in any thread about spiritual gifts also

people (some) would just like God to sit down in a pew and shut the hey up

I do not believe we can change reality in any super natural sense. (with our voice or any other way)



I do believe God can and He has vastly changed me in a way beyond what I can explain from the inside. I also believe in miracles. I feel as if many of my prayers have been answered, even if they would be dismissed by a skeptic.





You people know a lot of scripture. I commend you. But you don't know how to teach anyone anything :(

but I know it is dangerous to have unrealistic expectations, it can lead to disappointment or maybe thinking you are doing something wrong.



As far as I can see when we want something or need something we pray for God to help us. We keep our eyes peeled and we try our best. Sometimes we don't get what we want when we want it but what we need when it is best.



Taking an approach of trying to speak reality around you to conform to your will seems less fruitful, or effective or biblical than to trust Gods will is going to be done while praying to see what He wants you to see. (and still asking for what you believe others need help with or what you need of course....but accepting that we don't always get what ask for)



Maybe we think we need a new car to get us to work, when there is a better job for us in walking distance.




We can't talk to get the sin or pain out of our life, or to manifest gifts. (but we can ask God to deliver us from temptation and provide for us opportunity or comfort)





But our words are powerful, we will also have to answer for every one of them.😨

If you think mere men are inhibiting Gods purposes, think again. God could instantaneously incinerate evil men like he did to Nadab and Abihu.
Yet God has allowed mere men to change His direction at times. Such as the following:

True but also God is patient and willing to wait for people to repent too. Well His son is.

And then theres also grace. GOd does have mercy on whom He chooses so sometimes its not really up to us. But we can petition God just like Abraham wanted God to spare Lots life. God could have actually not told Abraham that he was going to destroy sodom and Gomorrah.

We could start a study on the day of judgment to find what this really entails, maybe for another thread. :cool::);)

Mathew 5:45 He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Kenneth Hagin Sr. had a heart attack 9/13/03 and passed away 9/19/03. Why did he suffer a heart attack if he practiced what he preached?

Paul Crouch died 11/30/13 after having suffered with degenerative heart disease for TEN years. Why didn't his faith heal him of this heart condition?
Perhaps it was there time to go. Hebrews 9:27 It is appointed unto men once to die...
A Wisconsin family refused medical treatment for their diabetic 11 year old girl and prayed over her and she died. Why didn't this heal her?
That's very unfortunate. They should have heeded this warning, Mathew 4:7 Do not put the Lord your God to the test.

They should have prayed and went for treatment, putting their trust not in the treatment, but in God, the real power acting within the medicine. Psalm 44:6-8
6 I do not trust in my bow;
I do not count on my sword to save me.
7 You are the one who gives us victory...

we can declare the word of God and know every single time it is true

we can lay out our needs and wants before God and declare that He hears us and know it is true...but as for declaring something we want to make it so, I would hesitate on that
Yes this is what I think also.

If we were perfect in knowing the will of God, we would indeed be successful in all our prayer request since we would only ask for the things God wanted us to have. But since we are not, God has given us a remedy

Here's a reason I don't believe she has lost her Word Faith beliefs. She has been contacted many times, by different Christian organizations, to see if she refutes the heretical things she said in the 1990's. She will not talk to anyone. If I had believed something wrong, and found the truth I would be telling the world about it, and writing about it, just as she did with her former bad doctrines. But, she says nothing? Why? Because I don't think she has changed her doctrines on anything. Here is a link to things she has said. I don't agree with a few things CARM says, but basically it is right about doctrine.

I have a hard time believing a preacher/teacher who preached such unbiblical stuff. Even if she says other good, helpful things, she has rather tainted herself. So, we will see where she goes. Time will tell.

I should have clarified that, it was an old, second hand dump of a car that I wanted to claim. No, not at all, it wasn't an expensive one.

I've gotten confused reading through the comments. I pointed that out yesterday.

Yes that was my simple question.

A "yes" or "no" followed by a scripture to back up the yes or no would have sufficed. Its that simple really.
Not necessary but it may depend on the situation. If someone had a headache and declared it to go away and had faith that it would, it might actually go away. This is something known as the placebo effect. Now if it was something like someone saying they will get a car today or they declare they will be healed of a serious condition such as an incurable disease then it would be less likely to happen. God is still God and he can do the impossible. Sometimes he does miracles and other times he may not. Even when God does not heal someone that person may become a light and inspiration for others.

years ago when I began singing and writing songs, it was truly a gift from God

while I had a pretty good voice, I had never written songs before and I had never sung in public

for the record, I would also sing songs that the Lord would give me on the spot and I was called a 'devil' by some so called pastors because I did that!

can you imagine being called a devil for praising God and encouraging others to worship and praise Him?

in fact one so called preacher told a local Bible teacher to watch out because there was something wrong with me

of course now, it's a different story, but being told you are a devil because you love God and the Holy Spirit gives you songs with which to worship God, is indicative of how people interpret

whatever. I know what is in my heart and so does God
Don't let that get you down. People may judge at times but God is not judgemental. God loves you and you are a woman of God. ❤

What always kills me, is there are a bunch of healthy people on a thread like this, declaring healing, when they basically have never been unhealthy., They say something about following biblical principles, believing God, confessing sin or whatever.

But they have never been faced with a serious, painful disease that will kill them sooner or later. Then they declare to disabled people like me, that they have all the answers, pulled right out of context from the Bible. And the implication is always there, that if you had ate better, lived for God more, obeyed God, confessed your sin, etc, etc, you also would be well, like them.

Well, here is the bad news. My mom is 89, healthy as a horse, living on her own, doing well. She is not a Christian. Then there is me, disabled and in constant pain. I started reading the Bible daily a few weeks before God saved me, in 1980. I have obeyed God through some terrible times, and some great ones. My life is completely committed to God, and everything he says in Scripture.

I also have an aunt who is 95 and active. She is a Christian. She is blind from macular degeneration, which also has blinded her 3 other, younger sisters. Her daughter, a fervent Christian and nurse, got Stage 4 ovarian cancer, and will be lucky to live a few more years with constant chemo, as it has already metastized. my aunt is incredibly active. For years, she has helped pack food for the "poor seniors" as she puts it, who are 20-30 years younger than her.

So older people who are healthy and not Christian; a Christian who is blind through a genetic disorder, who is otherwise healthy. A vibrant woman who loves God with all her heart, mind, soul and strength, facing a death sentence from cancer. And me, who has been sick for 22 years with a debilitating disease, who is happy, loves God, very active in church in the ways I am able, a pastor, now looking to help the hurting and broken, through education, and more important, the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Apply your simplistic, out of context, bad hermeneutics false doctrine, and no one should be what they are. The Christians should be healed, the nonChristians should be sick. And yet, too many won't listen.

If God heals you, that is wonderful! My hope is that someday God will heal me in this life. But if he does not, and waits for eternity, I will praise him, one way or another. The Christian walk is a complicated and difficult journey for all of us. God chooses not to tie a bunch of gifts up for us, and then walk away, because every we have it all. Instead, he encourages us to walk with him through the storm, and trust him. When I was in seminary, God gave me these 2 verses, which I meditated on for 2 years, every morning for 1/2 hour. God taught me more about who he is, and he taught me to trust him, and not myself.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding,
Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will direct your paths." Prov. 3:5-6

This helps me persevere, and rejoice, knowing that I can trust God! It also helps that I know the Bible so well, and God speaks to me through it every day. He had hermeneutics as a subject in my MDiv, and I learned how to correctly divide the Word, and to speak the truth in love, that Word Faith is a lie from the devil.

Again, Word Faith is a heresy, coming out of bad doctrine. We do not receive all the gifts and our lives are perfect because we are born again. Instead, we are living in a fallen world, and learning and growing, and being transformed by the Holy Spirit. Some day, we will be glorified, and then, we will be perfect. I am happy now, with the amazing way Jesus is teaching and leading me. I look forward with intense anticipation for when I meet Jesus face to face, when he returns. Can you say the same?

Paul had an illness, to do with his eyes, some wonder if he had a mild form of epilepsy. Whatever it was, he was happy enough to sing hymns after he had been beaten in prison.
This life can be hard can't it, but thankfully it is for a short time, and then our physical, or mental ailments will be no more

I do question the psychological effects that sin might have on the nonbeliever, for example: worry, uncertainty of ones disposition upon death, constant pursuit to maintain their wealth, never receiving real love or truth, issues of trust, and the feeling of emptiness...etc.

For the nonbeliever: "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. Romans 1:28-32

For the believer Jesus tells us: “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. I'm not convinced that there is not a psychosomatic effect to the body of the nonbelievers. For the mind is not separate from the body. Thus the health of the body will be a reflection of the mind. Infirmities that have come into being from original sin may remain for the believer. However, the sufficient Grace of God will see them through. His mind will strengthen their body, for His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Cor. 12:9). Thus, even in our infirmities we receive strength that makes us healthy. Whereas, the nonbeliever does not.

Apply your simplistic, out of context, bad hermeneutics false doctrine, and no one should be what they are. The Christians should be healed, the nonChristians should be sick. And yet, too many won't listen.

If God heals you, that is wonderful! My hope is that someday God will heal me in this life. But if he does not, and waits for eternity, I will praise him, one way or another. The Christian walk is a complicated and difficult journey for all of us. God chooses not to tie a bunch of gifts up for us, and then walk away, because every we have it all. Instead, he encourages us to walk with him through the storm, and trust him. When I was in seminary, God gave me these 2 verses, which I meditated on for 2 years, every morning for 1/2 hour. God taught me more about who he is, and he taught me to trust him, and not myself.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding,
Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will direct your paths." Prov. 3:5-6

This helps me persevere, and rejoice, knowing that I can trust God! It also helps that I know the Bible so well, and God speaks to me through it every day. He had hermeneutics as a subject in my MDiv, and I learned how to correctly divide the Word, and to speak the truth in love, that Word Faith is a lie from the devil.

Again, Word Faith is a heresy, coming out of bad doctrine. We do not receive all the gifts and our lives are perfect because we are born again. Instead, we are living in a fallen world, and learning and growing, and being transformed by the Holy Spirit. Some day, we will be glorified, and then, we will be perfect. I am happy now, with the amazing way Jesus is teaching and leading me. I look forward with intense anticipation for when I meet Jesus face to face, when he returns. Can you say the same?
I am one of them healthy younger folks. I recently saw a man with a condition that causes super huge swelling. He is not able to walk because of it but I intend to look up more about the condition. He had a good attitude though and it just puts things in perspective for me about how I should not complain about the little stuff. When people say things like you need to love God more or stop sinning and you will get better, that is not right, not true, inconsiderate and indicates possibly ignorance or pride maybe both. Job dealt with similar stuff with his friends putting him down because he was sick and bad things happened to him. God allowed it for a reason, Job's trials , but we are not given the reason why.
