I had a stack of paperwork to address last night. The hospital I work for recently acquired the other hospital system in my county. All the managers and those of in supervisory positions have been crazy busy. My snow day was perfect. And cold ! I really enjoy hiking. Snow crunching underneath my feet. And now some free time! lol With the 12 hour shifts I have an hour commute each way, so very little downtime on the nights I work. I enjoy hiking as well and taking in the beauty God created for us. When not working, I enjoy hanging out with my two boys that are in high school. They both are doing great and a proud papa here. God, my kids, music, and sports are my passions. Enjoy sporting events, traveling/sightseeing, Christian concerts (especially praise and worship), playing golf, volleyball, softball, and tennis, board/card/video games, movies, ice skating, skiing. I can't draw stick figures, but I enjoy other peoples art and creativity :). I collect sports cards for investing and personal collection. I also like researching new Christian artists to add to my Apple Music playlist collection. Christian radio is great, but the same songs have been playing and love hearing new music! What do you like doing for fun?
 
An hour commute ouch ! My drive to work is half that. Twelve hour shifts make for a long day no matter how short the drive or how smoothly they go. I'm working this weekend. Today was an interesting day. I was pulled to work psych and I'm not a psych nurse. A nice gentlemen balled his fist and gave me my first uppercut on the chin. He hit me so hard it broke the skin. I had to choke back the years that welled up in my eyes. It hurt !! Anyway I'm fine I just needed to vent.

I enjoy the outdoors. Hiking, fishing, camping and all water sports. Like you I enjoy travel and seeing new places. I head to the beach every chance I get. I'm also an avid gardener/horticulturist ! I love growing things and knowing how the soil works. In the summers I have a large vegetable garden. I preserve as many of my veggies as I can. Are you familiar with canning and pressure cooking ? I put up my green beans, corn and tomatoes to enjoy during the winter months. Fresh tomato soup is just incredible. I've dreamed of taking the Master Gardener course through Clemson University . That's on my to do list as soon as my schedule will allow. As for sports I follow the Kentucky Wildcats pretty closely and the Clemson Tigers ! Very proud of them and their win this year.

Like you I enjoy Christian music and Christian radio. I listen to 106.9 the light. The morning team Troy and Tricia are so fun and really uplifting. I think the station is livestreamed if you ever have time to give them a listen. Musically I always wished I had learned the piano. I play the mandolin. I know, weird. LOL. I grew up in Kentucky and the banjo and mandolin are popular there. No laughing !! I actually really enjoy it. I speak fluent Danish so combine a danish song with the mandolin and it's probably pretty unique 😁

12 hour shifts indeed make it a long day. Good thing we have a loving God to give us the peace that passes understanding when we have a long day! A nice gentleman hit you in the chin? That wasn't so nice... Did he apologize? I'm sorry that happened to you! I hope you are ok.

I'm not familiar with canning or pressure cooking, but I have had homemade vegetable soups and there is nothing like them. I do make a homemade chicken noodle soup and use the chicken to put some in a soup and some in a casserole. It does take work to have a vegetable garden, but being self sufficient and having organic vegetables and fruits is the way to go! Good for you in pursing this.

Sounds like Klove radio station. They started in my home church when I was 7. I was raised with Christian music all my life and what I listen to now. I'll definitely check them out! I drive home at 7am MST, so 9am EST are Troy and Tricia on then? I played the piano for 7 years. My mom was very strict and it didn't become fun even though I did great at it. I decided to spend my time with friends and sports instead. I might pick up the piano again or guitar. You should play some songs on the Mandolin for us to hear! :) I know no Danish, I believe I have family in Scotland and I know I have some in Italy and Germany. lol All over the place!

Clemson did have a great season. Dabo is a great coach that professes his faith! I don't follow college sports as closely as professional. I do know Kentucky usually has a good basketball team and Clemson football. Fun strong teams to root for!

Happy Super bowl Sunday ! I got home from work on time to catch the last 21 seconds. Long day and all I could really think was how I missed church today. Downside of nursing is missing Sunday service.

All this talk of food and baking has me hungry. I put up my own chicken noodle soup. I think I will open a jar, find me some crackers and chow down !

106.9 The Light has Troy and Tricia on weekdays from 6 am until about 10 am South Carolina time. They do this thing called daily nugget of knowledge. They share some random facts on a plethora of topics ! I really enjoy them.

That's the song I sang and played on the mandolin. I'm certainly no singer but a beautiful tune on the mandolin. I sang it in Danish so for anyone who heard me these are the words.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. This girl has a couple of days off !! I stopped on my way home and got Krispy Kreme donuts. I also played it forward for the car behind me. My prayer is that God will forever remind me to spread seeds of kindness wherever I can

I'm great thank you ! It was near 80 here today. I'm totally bummed as I haven't given up on snow. I still have a bunch of snowman decor out. I begrudgingly have to put it all away tomorrow. Fingers still crossed for one more nice snowfall. How have things been for you my friend ?
 
Near 80! Man, I wish we had warmer weather. We are getting a snow storm today, but great thing is I don't have to drive to work until Friday! Yay! I'm going to enjoy these two days off. Going to do some soul searching and planning too. Christmas decorations are fun. Winter is my favorite season. Christmas, my bday, football games that have more meaning, snow, colder weather, New Years... love it all! Hope you can do another snow trip before it gets warmer in the year. :)

Days off during a snowstorm. Enjoy !! Have some hot chocolate and enjoy the quietness of a snowfall. Have you ever had snowcream ?

Soul searching. I'm right there with you. I've been doing a lot of that lately. And prayer. I have a lot of questions but few clear answers. What I do have is faith that God guides me and that he loves me.

Never had snow cream... I'm guessing whipping cream with snow? lol

Those questions will have answers in His time. Keep on seeking the peace that passes understanding for those answers.

Almost a Christmas baby ! Mine is May 29. I almost made memorial day.

Snow cream. Gather clean snow of course. Chilled evaporated milk. Dash of vanilla flavoring and sugar. Add the cream and sugar to the snow until its ice cream consistency. Sugar to taste. I like mine sweet. About a tsp of vanilla flavoring. Enjoy !!
