Unless otherwise specified each should be responsible for their own travel for a local date. I prefer to meet as friends for coffee/tea and other low cost or free activities first. Each pays their own for everything. I do believe the man should pursue and take the initiative by asking the woman out. The man should pay for the formal dates. There are of course exceptions.

Yes, I completely agree. They should meet as friends for Coffee... (Rod gets distracted by the thought of it)...
Yes, they should meet over coffee... !!!

I think ,if both known each other for 2 or 3 months already and want to go in a special date ,they should atleast pay for own expenses ,i mean we are on a era were both genders is earning for themselves,,and for my ladies out there we are strong independent woman

That was a cool thing to say Karren. Times have changed...

Gender roles play a huge role in dating.

I would'nt know, I have'nt been on a date since my daughter was 5... LOL ... And by Gender roles you are saying that women and men play equal roles right... Or did you mean just being a gentleman...

Men and women are not equal as in the same. We are different, intentionally. Not one better than the other but we are different. This push to blend the genders is detrimental.

While I'd like to say that this is true about both genders earning for themselves, there is still a portion of people who don't earning anything whether its because of financial situations, studying, being lazy lol or whichever, this is true for some people who don't have income.

Hi happy morning, i think if my financial situation is not good i would not go into a special date( travel) with someone ,maybe walk in a park would bd nice , and having coffee

So I think if you can’t afford to take a lady out you should save up before dating. She wants to be wooed and pursued. If I sense she wants to take advantage I’ll run the other way :)

Buuuut what if it takes you months or years to save up before dating? Would you then be wasting your time? Lol... just saying? Some people’s financial struggle is real... to the point where it’s a burden for them.

Me? My opinion on being wooed and pursued would not be from materialistic things of the world but from the spiritual... I would love to have a first date as a devotional or prayer meeting with a potential husband/man... That way we can both be fed by the Holy Sprit, for free! Lol.

But if we had to go there with food... just a humble fish n chips at the park or beach is good for me.

Beautiful idea for a first date... I have taken first date's to church too! Why not start out with God being the focus? :) I understand some people's financial situation is a struggle and would be very wise if both people looked at the heart more than materialistic things. Eternity matters most... that's what it's all about. I have met some women who have told me they are worth more than coffee or Panera bread on a first date and it makes me wonder what their intentions and heart are. I'm very much into thoughtfulness.

Even just chilling somewhere at the park having devotional is something I’d do over dinner at a fancy restaurant. Everyone has their own preferences though 👍🏽

That's great... I can do dinner at a fancy restaurant but when I'm just getting to know someone I do low key at first. I guess it weeds out those who expect more on a first date or two. :)

Having said that, I’ve never been to a fancy restaurant (I’m talking about the high end type where there’s lobsters and oysters that cost $100+) 😂

I have not been to such a restaurant either. Furthermore, I don't want to go to one. You are paying for atmosphere which I think is kind of uppity. It feeds your ego. I had a young male friend that wanted to treat me to Chateaubriand steak. They bring you this flaming dish of gourmet beef. I turned him down, I said I would probably choke on it.

Prov 23:4-8 "Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words."

I voted other.... The government should pay....lol

No really I think whoever did the inviting for the outing should pay guy or gal...

You don’t know what apple crumble is? It’s like apple pie but you leave
the pastry in its crumble state (don’t make it into dough) and spread it
over the Apple. It goes all golden and crunchy.

In US we call it a Dutch Apple Pie.
