The BBC reporting remarks made in Germany and similar sentiments echoed in thoughts through out Europe:

With Europe embroiled in its Brexit difficulties, which leave so many questions unanswered, its leaders also find themselves scrambling to work out what it might mean if these old ties with the United States continue to unravel.

That was what German Chancellor Angela Merkel was contemplating when she said, a few months ago, that it was time for Europe to take its destiny into its own hands.

It was instructive to spend a few days in Berlin recently and to hear over and over again a version of these words.

As Daniela Schwarzer, from the German Council on Foreign Relations think tank, put it: "The United States, with its 'America first' approach, has put Europe and Germany into the space of a strategic competitor, if not even an enemy."

Karen Donfried, who served as President Obama's European adviser, told me: "I would not assume that whoever follows Donald Trump goes back to where we were pre-Trump, because you can't.

"Those four or eight years that Donald Trump is president will have changed the relationship and changed the US role in the world, so it will be different."

What I read... since America is no longer controlled and manipulated by Communist traitors to the republic those European governments which encouraged and financed their socialist policies within our country now find themselves in a panic because they have wasted so much money and time trying to topple the American economy and culture. In other words, they failed to conquer the American blessing and by attempting to do so have become our enemies if they continue their efforts.

God bless President Trump!

I dont care much what Europe thinks of the US. In fact the more critical they are of America, then it means we are probably doing the right thing, in most circumstances.

You think maybe the fact that we elected a functionally illiterate reality show host might have something to do with it?

Its possible. But I am ecstatic over most of his moves. Maybe we need more like him and not over think many of the simple common sense stuff.

I am very much in favor of drawing back from Europe. They need to tend their own messes. Welcome back nationalism.

Yeah, I wouldn't go so far as to espouse nationalism. Though a healthy dose of patriotism is severely needed, for sure!

Patriotism is the antibiotic for socialism ya know!

While they try to tear down every institution of established Judeo-Christian morality, we build up our defenses by loving one another through the storm. Let's see who is last Man standing..... :)

Yes because those with law degrees from top universities have done so well for the United States.

If those lawyer puppets had finished their plan, the U.S. would be exiting neither stage right, nor left........but downward much like in the movie, Titanic, a metaphor for the ultimate demise of the "Republic" replaced with a border-less dystopian socialist state........you know the one, its on the mainstream media news everyday, you know, the one where we willingly choose to be slaves to the state, the one for which everyone clamors.

Ironically, in creating this supposed “paradise” socialist state, the seeds of destruction are sown, for most certainly, no

human being with a grain of sentience would long endure paradise that has to be enforced with an iron heel and really why pay

attention to the past right?

We shall see what the legacy of President Trump will be, but it will not be because of his past, but rather what he does or fails to do in the here and now.....

....but then those who prefer to insult on peripheral issues never really take the time to do the real research it seems...sigh

Well, he has promised a wall paid by Mexico, he has a shutdown lingering, he’s talking about pulling out of NATO, he’s making Putin rejoice, he’s fixing to pull American troops out of strategically important areas in the Middle East, he’s a great contributor to the polarization of this country etc.

I guess his legacy is Bona Fide...

I think the term “leftist” is being misused by some people whenever they disagree with a sentiment. There’s nothing “leftist” in opposing the politics of the sitting president.

What is a bit strange, though, is all the dirt poor people supporting the president cutting the taxes for the rich people. Looks like a political Stockholm syndrome.

Latin? Oh, is it Latin? Really? I never would’ve guessed😄. Reckon you have never lived in the South😁. We use that phrase a little bit more liberally down home. But how are you supposed to know that, you’re not American😊.
