When you worked in sales, did you get this stressed out?

Not in the slightest. But they've filled up that area again. So if I end up not being here I'll probably be out the door.

I'm sure before you started this new job you prayed and presented your purpose why you were applying for this job to God. When He opened that door and brought you and your new employer together, you may have also been an answer to prayer for your hiring manager's need as well.
This part of your post is profound. I enjoyed your whole post and found it very much to be scripturally sound counsel. Each day before I go to work I pray for God to calm my fears, remove my anxiety and to mentally and spiritually prepare me for my shift at work. Work can indeed be stressful but this is true no matter what the job but it helps when one considers God to be his or her's true employer as you perform the work that the Father has prepared for you beforehand to accomplish.

The job isn’t the problem. Your lack of confidence is. The only way to gain confidence is to continually challenge yourself, and win the little victories. Obviously the person who hired you saw that you were capable, so trust their judgement, if not your own. I’ve heard of a few techniques that allow you to deal with this type of anxiety. One is go outside yourself and watch yourself. If you drink a lot of coffee, cut back. There are other dietary tricks that effect your cortisol release. Adrenal fatigue can make us less able to handle stress. Deep breathing, brisk walking, and being in a dark room listening to instrumental music works fantastic for females to help stress levels. I was overwhelmed at work before and felt extreme anxiety one night in particular. My heart was pounding, my mind was racing and I felt sick about work. Then all of a sudden it occurred to me, it was my fear of failure and not the work that stressed me out. I gave myself permission to make mistakes and learn from them. The errors I made were not blows against my ability, but rather opportunities to learn and improve. Immediately a weight lifted and I had the best sleep ever. I was better able to function at work without thinking every failure was going to expose my imperfection.
I feel like you do at work as I sometimes stress out about my job performance by possibly having a slightly sub-par day.

Being an adult can be a pain. Lets be careless toddlers again
Lol. I don’t know why I was so looking forward to growing up. Oh yeah, staying up late and eating all of the ice cream I want. Now I would trade my ice cream for an afternoon nap.

So my manager said that I can’t be calling out sick without a doctors note. I was hoping that I wouldn’t have any issues. No I woke up this morning puking, and it wasn’t enough for me to warrant going to emergency, so I have no note. I tried to call in to several doctors and couldn’t get a note or a appointment. This could mean that I don’t have a job tomorrow.

I’m starting to stress about that, and how I won’t have insurance or dental anymore. It’s like I thought so much about whether I should keep my job or not, know that there’s a situation that I actually might lose my job I am finally seeing all the consequences. And also it would mean that Mom is the only one earning money in the house that’s scary to me. And probably to her.

I used to look forward to it because it seemed so easy. Now I like it but sometimes wish to go back lol

You always need a sick leave of a doctor if theres no paid days off u can take.
If I got sick like that id drag myself to the doc without appointment even if id nearly pass out there. Push it if u still can

I have like I think for 48 hours of sick time or maybe it’s 36 hours for the whole year. I have sick time but the only issue is that I just had my bosses co-boss talk to me about it before I went into the position. So yeah it’s scary

It’s like I can’t talk to anyone fully about it. I try and pray and God everything but for some reason it doesn’t make me feel as good as telling someone physical. No one really fully understand what I have to go through, no one understands what I’m feeling, and I can’t comprehensively share it with people because I’m not really sure how. And then I keep going over the same stuff over and over again trying to figure out how to describe it without stressing other people out.

OK as a exercise I’m going to try and say it as well as I can. I work in the tech-support position, we have a que or lineup of people that put in tech-support tickets every day. That number can be anywhere from 3 to 25 on any given day. I am expected to clear out that que by the end of the day. I also do installations are software, which can take anywhere from 15 mins to 2 hours on a person’s computer. I also have codes that I have to be emailed by me two clients while I’m working on peoples installs, I also I’m given codes from accounting to send to customers so that they can get their products, I’m supposed to make CDs and also to copy information onto drives. I probably have three or four or five of those tasks a day, along with people who don’t want to do a tech ticket online.

At any given time during the day I can feel like I know what I’m doing, like I wanna throw up, like I want to run to the bathroom and never come out of the door, like I’m actually helping you know what I’m doing, like I am the worst tech position in the world, like I’m not keeping up, and like I am overcome and about to have a panic attack.

I have not told my HR specialist this yet, because we are a very small company and basically if I say that I can’t do the job then I’m probably going to fired.

And I’m booked out with appointments for those installations until 25 January. So if I have any kind of issue then like it kind of leaves the other tech people in the lurch.

I feel like I can’t keep up. And I feel like if I don’t keep up then it’s going to hurt the company because they’re going to be down a tech while they’re trying to find a new one. And then also at the same time I feel like this whole situation is very unhealthy and I shouldn’t necessarily stay in it but what if God wants me to stay in it and I don’t know what to do.

I would offer my resignation during the next scheduled work day, take a couple weeks to decompress and regain your composure and begin a new job search. Keep in mind though that most jobs have a certain degree of stress but perhaps not as much as you are currently feeling.

My biggest thing has been do I quit, or do I wait for them to fire me? If things go how I am thinking they’re going to go, I’m probably going to get fired tomorrow.

I’m sorry to hear about your struggles, ArtieSteph. I’m praying, asking God to provide healing, comfort and strength as you trust in Him. Also, do you think it might be helpful to get in touch with a counselor? I know that Focus on the Family can provide a free phone consultation with a licensed counselor if you call this number 855-382-5433. God's grace, peace and guidance be upon you!

Steph I know this is radicle. But try this

1) pray about it
2) ask your manager for a meeting
3) write down all this things you are expected to do in a day and
show to the,
4) Explain you are getting anxious and stressed worrying the work load is
too much for you.
5) Ask what the priorities are and what jobs you are allowed to leave for another
day. Is there a time scale etc. Ie which are same day jobs, which are same week
jobs etc.
6) Explain you need more training in how to manage your work and prioritise it.

If you think they will fire you anyways then by doing the above if they fire you
any way. You haven’t lost anything.

If you explain the work load they may themselves see it’s unreasonable and
or give you more training if need be and support,

You said you are only one of two people. Maybe it will encourage them to employ
a third person. Maybe they are already looking for a third person and they already
know it’s too much work.

The above will also show them that you have a level of maturity and are
taking responsibility for your job, rather than just running away.

It will also enable God to work in your situation whereas running away and
giving up will close the door. You might be surprised at the result.

If you do get dismissed, put it down to experience and move on.
One job where they are expecting too much of people doesn’t mean you
are a failure. It just means that one job was no good.

There may also be a reason why there was only one other person in the
dpt. maybe the last person quit as it was too much work as well. Maybe they
know it’s all too much work already.

Good news is that at least I get to go to the doctor today, and get my doctors note of why I was throwing up. Also I’ll be able to talk to my shrink about everything that’s going on and kind of get it off my chest a bit. Figure out what I need to do

Steph, from previous observations from when you were caring for Daddy, I've noticed that you are not able to deal with stress effectively, at all.. A high stress job isn't good for anyone, especially if they literally throw up just THINKING about that job. If you dread this job so much, then it's fairly obvious that this job isn't for you. You need a low-stress job, OR maybe start a work from home business where YOU are your own boss.. :)
